Guy and Richard playing the Stars and Stripes written for the guitar by Guy Van Duser. Played by two of the most amazing Fingerstyle Guitar Players on the planet at the 2015 CASS Event in Nashville. Both guitars are built by Kirk Sand of Laguna Beach Calif. Guys guitar was strung up for the 1st time on July 4, 2015. How fitting is that....!!!

Merle Travis, Chet and Jerry live on through your awesome mastery of the guitar forms that they pioneered. Great on you two!
❤
He even gives tommy emanuel a hard time 😂😂
it would be great if yoko kept her mouth shut
Beautiful!
Awesome. I'm speechless.
Check out chet atkins's version of "the entertainer" and then watch richard smith's. Puts chet to shame
terrific
INCREDIBLE! JPS is smiling
Como cuanto cuesta esa guitarra? Y si todavía se puede encontrar?
.
Good

Somewhere, Mr. Guitar - Chet Atkins - is smiling.... It was was Guy Van Duser who developed this arrangement for Chet and made it famous in the finger-style guitar world. Like two peas in a pod... Richard Smith and Guy Van Duser together are it!!! Wow!
Loved the comment, "Nobody clapped along." My first introduction to this arrangement was by Chet Atkins, who rightfully credited Guy with doing the arrangement. That performance was marred by idiots in the audience deciding that their out of time e clapping would improve the experience. Chet cut the piece short because of that.
As Chuck Akers would say, THAT IS effin' A, elfin, B AND ... EFFIN' C!
Pure music mastery from the master himself. Amazing, marvellous and effortless. Pure magic and musical heaven
Beautiful… how can there be any thumbs down on this one??
Excellent!!!
why hasn't this gone viral ??
Que marca son esas guitarra?
League of his own.. Amazing skill.
Is it a modification of Guy's solo arrangement for 2 guitars?
No. They are just playing in unison. Great performance.
@@robsmith8052Why double-up on a solo arrangement, though?
@khmak9387 it's Guy's arrangement which Rich plays fairly often. Not many can play it that well, so it's just two masters having fun on a tricky piece.
@@khmak9387 impromptu performance at a Chet Atkins convention. Chet also played Guy's arrangement.
Mind-boggling skill. The result of great talent and many, many years of practice. Leave a comment people and help the youtube algorithm spread this fantastic video to more people!
Richard Smith never cease to amaze me
So good

SPECTACULAR!
👏👏👏👏👏
Holy smokes is that type of pickn even legal? Looks like the work of the devil to me !
Nice, really nice. Thanks for sharing.
Genius
Well now, wasn’t that pretty darn amazing. Well done gentlemen.👍👍🇨🇦
Nothing like tuning your guitar at 3:15 while playing one of the most difficult songs to play on the acoustic guitar, much less nylon strings. Crazy good!
What's the cost for Richard to play in my kitchen?? Anyone know?? lol. Great as always.
🍺🍺🍺🍺
great video your friend billy
This was recommended 7 years late, stupid youtube
Very faithful to the composer while adding some nice personal flourishes of your own. Lovely.
Yeah, but does it djent?! Guy and Richard: Hold our beers... 😜😉
Wow! Richard is amazing. Not just the chops, but the finesse and the ease with which he plays.
Another chop-buster! Amazing. As for the talkers, it’s their loss. F*ck ‘em.
We can thank mr joplin 1st... then all others are a tribite. Thank you mr joplin. Done.
Such a brilliant mind!
Damn! Richard blows my mind with each video. Going into Drop D mid song was amazing. You can tell he’s concentrating on his fretting hand, as opposed to “The Entertainer,” where he makes it look like a walk in the park. Brilliant musicianship.
So good you posted it twice! Mind-blowing stuff 👏
Rich Is The BEST!!!
素敵すぎて、涙出る
A brilliant arrangement and performance that, unfortunately, Chet Atkins usually gets credit for.
