Thanks. We keep gravitating more and more toward specialty in unique evergreens. In addition, we slowly are removing many perennials and replacing them with low growing evergreens too. Lately, especially in the shade with low growing hemlock. Even though many are still pretty small!

@@dsmile67 my kind of gardening.....I watch other channels but only one deals with conifers.He is in Canada. the rest are all flower channels. I will be watching for more from you :) I am in Massachusetts also, so the content is very similar :) Have a great day.

Check out the videos posted during the month of June 2024, there are a few specifically discussing the maples. Also, we use "raindrip" irrigation, pretty much only when necessary from mid June to mid-August. Otherwise just spot watering.

@@dsmile67 Мой сад находится в России, регион - Северный Кавказ. Клены-пальматумы из всей территории можно выращивать более-менее беспроблемно только в нашем регионе. Но пока ещё мало, у кого они есть. Мой сад молодой, ещё не такой ухоженный как Ваш, фото делаю нечасто🤗 Но исправлюсь! Обратите обязательно внимание на Enkan - в данный момент очень красив - бордово-шоколадный🤩🤩🤩 А весной покорил Koto-no-ito, целый месяц нежнейшего зелёного на очень ярких веточках🤩 Здесь же фото не добавляется?

Я искренне рада Вашему интересу к моей местности! К сожалению, в отличие от Японии, у нас очень сухо. Море находится в 500 км. У меня нет Hupp's Red Willow, но, как я понимаю, они похожи формой листа. Давно смотрю на этот сорт. Рядом с Enkan у меня растут TROMPENBURG, Firecracker, Crimson Queen и Inaba Shidare . Все они бордово-красные, а Enkan бордово-шоколадный. Впервые приобрела саженцы из Китая с голым корнем. Не ожидала ничего хорошего. Но они порадовали и качеством, и соответствием сортам!

The fairy lights is a brand new addition tow months ago. I stopped at the broken arrow nursery in Connecticut. They've got a bunch of great evergreens and japanese maples, but none of the maples that I wanted, so I asked them if there were any others that they were hiding and they brought out they fairy!! a little pricey at 250.00 but like you said wally big for something that is rare and only grows about 2" a year!

yes it is a verigated umbrella pine, new growth is limey green until fall, then gets very yellow, it's a great accent piece next to the blue spruce and weeping alaskan.

@@dsmile67 Немножко😊 Сортов 30 точно есть. У нас зона 6б. Летом очень жарко, хотя живём в предгорье. В этом году очень жаркий апрель - до 35 градусов по цельсию😳 Клёны тоже в шоке... С удовольствием наблюдаю за Вашим садом. Успехов и процветания!!!

Thanks Bond! We've really been focusing on the evergreen structure, especially with 4-5 months of winterish weather, and have been focusing on smallish trees (Japanese maples especially) and of course the tougher hydrangeas, as we've on the Cape!

Thanks, I think one of the best ones is July 12th of 2023. At this point we have nearly 80 Japanese maples some of which have been in the ground for 10 years or so and some that are relatively hard to find our only a few years old and really small because the only way to get rare versions is through shipments from certain suppliers as most garden centers in the Northeast don't carry much more than the most common cultivars we basically have the same walkthrough several weeks every year so that we can track the progress of things. And it's amazing the changes, from year to year. My favorite thing about the garden is just the accumulation of time!.

7a, on Cape Cod has remained unchanged after The Zone updates. We are between the ocean and Cape Cod Bay so the water temperature keeps us more mild even though we were in the Northeast
