Fuzz I passed in 1969 and yes had those driving rights. However since I developed Diabetes and am using Insulin all those rights are now withdrawn. Very frustrating!

Fuzz, you made a good choice in buying that Bristol MW. I worked the spanners on some of the Cumberland fleet in the mid 1970's. Good old things but the vacuum brakes needed regular adjustments and thorough understanding. Good luck Fuzz😊

Cool seen the old buses on the road

I regret selling my 1980 Ford escort sport.Sold it when moved to Australia from South Africa in 2006.A non runner here Australia is around $ 5000.00

My first was VW type 411 variant 1969 it was just a shell on 4 wheels that was in South Africa I bought a racing Kombi motor which was built for off road racing motor fitted with a Weber carburetor. The body came from inland so had no rust.Put it through the road test past mot 1st time painted it like VW sport golf.Rally blue with white bottom. I enjoy the car show.

Very happy that you like your bus Fuzz, I hated the bloody things, vague steering, soft brakes with no "Feel" to the pedal, and mediocre performance from the low-revving Gardner engine. Not a patch on the Leyland Atlanteans they were replacing, and after they were a couple years old everything rattled and banged, also, like all buses at the time, poor driver ergonomics, after a ten-hour shift you had a sore back, legs and bum from sitting in a cramped cab on what was little more than a "Sit up and beg" kitchen chair. The Indicator switch works on an "Air escapement" principle and is fully adjustable to whatever "Time" you wish.

Used to take journeys on these in the 80’s up to the early 90’s when visiting my nan and grandads in West Bromwich during the school holidays. I used to change the bus number on the destination board at the back as you could reach the leavers on the back seat🥴😂😂

Fuzz needs to make a TV series ....... restoration & driving classic British buses ...... could be more successful than bangers and cash 🇬🇧👍

Hey Fuzz, I love the old Fleetline, I passed my test in one of those over 30 years ago at Perry Parr garage. We never drove them so gently in service on the Bristol Road though! I hope you and the family are all well.

I hate that junction in a car never mind a bus

I drove many miles in these as a Birmingham bus driver. Was at (now gone) Quinton bus garage and later Yardley Wood garage. They were bloody hard work i tell you, but a reliable bus for sure. The steering was air operated on early models, very, very hard work. Then came the Metrobus to replace the Fleetline. I miss the Fleetline though. Really good in snow too, the Metrobus couldn't handle snow roads very well.
