I think I remember you Mr Townshend on a European car rally some 30 years ago ( 1995) the younger you 😆driving the Jenson 541 R in France as I commented to my Co pilot at the time ( we were in an Austin Healey) that one of the best looking motors on the Euro was the Gun Metal grey Jenson - or I’m completely mistaken and the bloke wasn’t you but a spitting image with the lady companion 😂😂

I must’ve been lucky., I’ve had 4 sets of these on an old Citroen xsara 1.9 diesel and never had a problem. Drive steady for first 100 miles and they we’re good for 18/20 000 miles. Had 2 sets on a Picasso much the same. They are certainly more compliant than Continental contact 6, and less than half price.

The smaller contact patch of the first tire didn't require water to be pumped from the treads like the wider tire. Think of trying to cut a pizza with a rolling pin versus a pizza cutter.
