I was making a bulk cap order and didn't want to open it up until I got my order....I did anyway, just thought someone could save me and others some time, is all. Did you ever use the muse 01? If so, how did it compare to the 02? I'm reading some mixed reviews. And 50$ a pop is not allowing me to experiment. Thanks for making this video. I appreciate it and you for doing it.

Perhaps you can give some insight. I ordered 10x volkshod rockets, and glad I did. Some were clearly better sounding than the others. I seen a review where someone said the brighter they glow, the better they sound. I found this to be true. Is there a good way to tell? Other than buying a tester? Should I bulk order others? Say the Sylvania 6ak5s. Or should I just buy them pre matched and tested? Really new to the whole tube, opamp rolling. I am enjoying the journey though. Thanks

whats solder mask? Put some solder on the joints and gentley pull the caps off rocking them back and forth while applying heat from the soldering iron. Then worry about getting the solder out of the holes.

What did I tell you about where to get your op amps. There is no such thing as a JRC2114 that is a fake Chinese made op amp. Leave everything alone and goto DIGIKEY and get a real OPA2134 and you will see what I'm talking about. Also wityh op amps you dont necessarily look at the gain but you look at the bandwidth, the slew rate is important (how fast it is) and signal to noise ratio but you are dealing with fake op amps and you are chasing your own tail here. Knock it the hell off and take advice from people that know what the hell they are talking about and get some real op amps.

​@@ranbymonkeys2384 I meant NJM2114 from JRC - this is a very decent op-amp. Regarding OPA2134 I have (or rather had) several from different sources (also removed from some quite old, expensive audio equipment) - all sound the same bad, really bad. In fact all op-amps sounds bad in one way, or another - of course you can make it a little bit better, by example by making their output A-class (current sources at the out to +/Vdd or -/Vss), removing the load by using some buffers, by reducing the open-loop-gain, but in the end only few are semi-acceptable. OPA2132 was quite decent one, but not universal (low I-out) - maybe you mistook one for another? Statistically the best op-amps are from Analog Devices, but I didn't try MUSES from Nisshinbo (I'm afraid of fakes). The best op-amp is when there is no op-amp - just a discrete current-base voltage amplification without loopbacks and A-class buffers.

You want to play them for about 40 hours and they will mellow out, but to each their own. Also make sure you get a real one it should cost around $50 for the MUSES02 if you paid 5.99 it's fake

@@ranbymonkeys2384 I went Digikey not the eBay cheapo’s. I’m listening to some reggae now and it’s super bright.🤷🏻‍♂️ I haven’t played the muses O2 DAC as much but it’s been left on a few weeks. Maybe it’ll settle down some more. I’m tempted to try the similarly priced Burson V5i as I liked the Oracle 02 so much, If I do I’ll prob let you know my thoughts. Good fun!

The microfered (uF) needs to stay the same but the voltage can be hihger so if there is a 20v cap you can replace with a 9,000v cap.

Why don't you replace those 4 1uF caps can find out. Those are good beginner ones to replace too, lots of room to fuck up.

An op amp in one piece of equipment has nothing to do with an op amp in another piece or equipment. Usually almost always the headphone amp has it's own separate op amp. When the main out put is used the signal isnt going through the headphone port anymore so the headphone op amp isnt being used.

What happened to the ones you removed? Going by memory I believe there is only 1 1000 uf and 2 22 uf. There are also two little 1 uf film caps in between the tubes also. Where did you get the Muses02 just wondering why you are having a hard time finding these caps.

If the employee you were working with did say what you said he said, why didnt you ask for a manager and report the employee? That is what makes me question your credibility of the story. Yes there is always at least 2 sides to every story and maybe that person was having a bad day, or maybe you were, and that is understandable but inexcusable on the employees part. They are suppose to be professional when in the environment of work, but i know when I am at work and am working with someone who is being less than pleasant towards myself, i have a hard time being nice. So i could see how they could be an asshat toward someone being that way towards them. Now when it comes to the "what you are saying I did and said I have not done NOR said" I am assuming you are talking about my Concealed permit comment.. to be clear on what i meant by that. When i said this, I was talking about the part of the video where you said "the employee that had to come across the counter and be 2 inches from me, who knows what would have happened that day best buy?" that is very heavily implying you wanted/intended to use force, which sure might have been justified in the situation at the time, but then coming on youtube and talking about it. BUT... either or of those scenarios if I ordered it and had it delivered to my house and it showed up like that there is no way i would take that as acceptable when it says "excellent" condition. I would have taken it to the store that day and said WTF, and if he found it in store why did he not inspect it before he bought it? Coming on here and bitching about something when you can take action to have it corrected is beyond me. I understand trying to raise awareness because I have been burned as well from big stores like this but this is a bit blown out of proportion unless they refused to handle the situation but it sounds like he didnt even try to have the subwoofer issue corrected.

They are the same that is in ours too that just means the cap can withstand 450 volts before blowing up and tubes generate far more than your mains does.

E30 is better than the MK2 but the new E30's have the new chip which isnt as good as the old one. You need to get one before a certaint serial number. I have one I'm selling it for $200, but if you can't find an old one then get the E50.

@@GeorgeWPush They pretty much all have that now days, just saying because the 196,000 sample rate is getting pretty old especially if you plan on having it for a while. How much did you pay for it?

I would guess one is for the headphone amp and the other 3 are for the tone controls. Swap out 1 at a time see if you can hear a difference.

Regardless each op amp has 2 channels in it so they are for the L and R so each one you replace wont make the left weird compared to the right each op amp controls both L and R

If you haven't tried it yet how do you know it's going to be great sound compared to the other one. I would bring the one that sounds the best no matter what.

The Audiolab is a class AB so it should blow the A07 out of the water. The A07 is class D. Class AB is better than class D, for now.

Now op amps have a break in period (don't let anybody tell you different, or how about you check for yourself). It can take anywhere from 5 to 40 hours. They will change for the better. In my experience the highs will mellow out and not be as harsh. I have a couple videos talking about these things. If you got them from a reputable place then they are real.

@@ranbymonkeys2384 i ran it for about 14 hours and i noticed the sound improved after just the first hour . Its amazes me how a little chip like that can change the whole soundscape of an amp . I currently have 2 onkyo a9010 integrated one upstairs and one downstairs I always used the big old school amps and assumed these little solid state chinese amps were junk but these things are amazing bang for buck and sound good too .

@@ranbymonkeys2384 one thing that had me thinking the opamps may of been counterfeit was the writing was in slightly different place on both and one was more blurry plus they never had the side notch like opa2134pa pics on the net and the ones on the net have the round indentation directly over pin 1 but mine had the indentation inbetween pin 1 and 2 . Do you think they could be legit but changed the design ? I made a video showing the chips to try and get some feedback but even if they are shady they sound good . Thanks for your help bro

@@peterpipe9015 Imagine if the amp chip in those were real. They aren't. Class is getting good and getting good fast. I say 10 years or so class D will be extremely close to a class A sound. A lot of time your Digikey and Mouser will just have a picture for showing what it looks like seeing as there are thousands or these things. If you want to step it up get 2 single op amps and put then in a single to dual adapter. So you will have 4 op maps in your Aiyima. 2 singles sound better than 1 dual. Make sure you have the room. You can buy just the 8 pin adapters as you know to lift them up to clear components in the way. The opa627 (single op amp) has a soft tube like sound. That will cost you, don't doubt me on that. Stay the hell of of ebay for these if you see a OPA627 for $5 IT'S FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont recommend ebay and it will work as long as it's a dual. Remember you need 2 of them.

@@peterpipe9015 if you're looking at a surface mounted chip instead of socket mounted that might be why it comes soldered on the socket already. I bought these also. worked fine.
