Panasonic TC-P50VT20 Plasma TV Break-In Video
Screen phosphor break-in video on Panasonic TC-P50VT20 1080p plasma TV. Screen break-in to run for 100 hours, which serves to settle the phosphors within each pixel on the screen, maximizing video performance.
The break-in video content consists of twenty 1080x1920 still images broken down into four colors (red, green, blue and white), which, in turn, are broken down into five gradient levels each, covering a wider spectrum for each primary color (RGB) plus white.
The images were loaded onto an old 32MB SD card and displayed on the screen using the TV's built-in SD card interface. TV's photo display settings are set to show the images as a slideshow, and continuously looped.
My apologies for the color-inaccuracy of the video. It was made with a Canon PowerShot SD1000 point-and-shoot digital camera.

    That's not possible. Mercury Average distance from Sun is about 60mil. Km From said distance Sun appears 3 times bigger than we see on earth. Here Sun looks like a red giant.

    I remember the folks who compressed the Blockbuster DVD to Divx back in the days. They had immense difficulties selecting the correct bitrate. If you made 750MB CD sizes, then you would lose all the darker shades of grey in the blackness of space. Especially during the intro. Now, I am wondering if there is an HDR10 version of this?

    Theres so much to unpack in this scene. However, to me, the most beautiful thought, is that Mercury, this tiny rock, is actually out there right now, circling our star, and has done for longer than humanities entire existence. It just creates this awesome depiction of the greatness of space, time and nature. The music and the visuals somehow do a fantastic job of reinforcing that message in this scene. Its absolutely beautiful. Great film.

      That's an amazing thought. Quite breathtaking. When I first saw this scene what I felt is unexplainable. For a moment it looked like Mercury was falling into the Sun. What it must be like for the crew as they watch creation being undone knowing that it will happened to Earth in the future. Utterly soulwrenching

    I love how you can't even see an entire planet, not only after the observation deck adjustment, but also until it passes the overwhelming light of the sun. Even then it looks like a beach ball in comparison. Really puts things into perspective on a cosmic scale.

      If you think Sunshine turned into "a horror movie" you weren't paying attention. There's a difference between thriller and horror. It's sci-fi all the way through and then thriller is added as well to the second half of it. That's what makes the film so good it doesn't have a dull moment in it it's very suspenseful because the odds aren't high for success. Event Horizon is a joke compared to this.

    Honestly, I think this scene really captures the life giving divinity of The Sun. Sure, Mercury (and by association, Earth) are small and insignificant in comparison to the Majesty of our Sun, yet still, the star cradles us in its orbit, grants the heat and light we need to go on living. To some, this scene represents a nihilistic portrait of the Solar System, how even as Humanity dies, Mercury continues to spin, but to me, this scene represents something completely different. This is an image of a Mother holding one of her seven children

      While it's awe-inspiring to see Mercury in person, seeing another lifeless planet also makes you appreciate the fertility of Earth itself. Our odds of living on a life-sustaining planet are astronomical, no pun intended.

  • @michaelspencer8024
    @michaelspencer8024 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Years later I notice that Mercury is spinning backwards in this scene. Most objects in our solar system orbit the sun and/or rotate counterclockwise as seen from the ecliptic north pole (even the sun itself), Mercury is no exception. So we should see it passing in front of the sun from left to right instead of right to left. I first thought that Icarus II was "upside-down" but when you look at the sun, you can clearly see its surface rotating from left to right, though at a slower pace.

    • @RfdMusicOfficial
      @RfdMusicOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      SERIOUSLY, the sun should be about 3 times bigger here beause mercury is about 1 third the distance from the sun?? Yet the sun looks fucking HUGE, probably 50-100 times bigger, this CANNOT BE accurate? I mean mercury looks like a stupid moon to the earth.

    • @RfdMusicOfficial
      @RfdMusicOfficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tbh honest the shadow of mercury looks about the right size of the sun as seen from earth. Without glare, (which there's none in this clip) the sun they should be seeing would be about 3 times bigger than that.

    I loved this movie, but I was upset they screwed up this scene so badly. When they are watching they see Mercury traversing across the sun at a decent rate. The length of one orbit around the sun (Mercury year) is 88 days. You wouldn't see the planet moving at all. Instead they gave it an orbital rate that looks like it would be somewhere on the scale of one orbit every few minutes. A really amateur fuck up.....
