This is why they are going to test an automated system this spring and are considering it for full-time use in 2026. They umps have gotten terrible on balls and strikes.

I wonder if the umpires are just being idiots about the catcher's gloves...in a lot of these calls, the catcher's glove has to roam outside the strikezone to get the ball, but then it snaps back in the instant after making the catch. Idk if that's just automatic muscle memory of the catchers or playing the umpires bad judgment (hate the game, not the player). Maybe these old, half blind umpires cant see the ball coming and just go based off of glove position, and they are half blind so they dont see the moving glove.

The KBO implemented automated strike calls last year and it worked well. No reason for the MLB not to implement this technology.

Umpires behind the plate haven't been needed for over a quarter of a century. At least not to make the actual call. They add nothing to the game but ruin the game countless times. Get with the times. I can't take these sports seriously anymore.

I used to love baseball before I could see the box and pitch placement on tv. Now I know that no winner is legitimate in the sport because each game is on the whim of how an umpire sees a strike zone, and the umpires simply can’t do the job. When I was a kid playing and I’d disagree with the umpire I’d think to myself at least in the pros they get good umps. Farce of a sport to me now, figure skating has more legitimacy.

These are the worst? There are a few really bad but many barely miss. Take the stupid box away and no one can tell on 95% of these
