Powder is powder. The recipe is what is most important!

It would have been nice if you would have cut them open so we could see how the charges are arranged in the shells. Do they shape the charges differently in the bigger shells. Also you should have weighted the powder in each shell to verify the 60 gram limits. One more point, just because the last shell only had a smaller depth, doesn’t mean the shell has a larger charge. So all in all, you really didn’t show us much of anything except you know how to pop the cap off and use a ruler….

I kinda thought this was the story. Last two years I’ve been using 4” or 5” shells. I haven’t seen much of a difference in pricing. My thought was if they can only have 50 grams of powder, the smaller shells would make a better report that the longer ones. I’m really happy with the Excalibur cans. Great color and loud reports. These seem to be toned way down, I got a couple packs of them before the 4th and they weren’t what I was expecting based off other demos, these sounded like the ones I had so u think you got watered down kachows too

You see the ring it made? That’s cause the firework exited out of one side of the tube because hot glue is weak, you want it to break in the middle of the tube where the cardboard is, it will be much louder and firework breaks will be round. I’ve tried all this this is how I know. Roll up paper into a cylinder and glue that to fit and use it as a plug, wood glue it in.
