You didn't disconnect the battery did you?

Is your ignition coil the original or did you have to buy an aftermarket? I need new ignition coils for mine.

Why not vent the primary like the 5-speed Evos do, through the mainshaft? Just remove any seals in the clutch hub nut, and the internal pressure will bleed off through the transmission, and out its vent screw....

I like the way the doors shut. Says a lot about the overall care of the truck. Very nice. I love the original green on the inside. Awesome.

Do you hold the decompression lever the whole time youre kicking it? Or just to get it to tdc?

all the xs1100’s that I see they have the same noise on idling, I wish they were more like CB’s and GS’s….

Looks alot like mine. Ive had it for 42 years. 300 inline 6, C6 auto. These are great trucks.

If you use zip ties/ cable ties it makes it easier to compress the spring, plus you only have to snip them and pull them out afterwards.

Great job! You are living every mans dream. Mine is a 69 ,swb,300 in line 6, C6 auto. I love my truck. Had it for 41 years. Bought it for 1,400 in 82.

Thanks for the close-up on the solenoid assembly; factory manual doesn't give a very good explanation of the orientation of the spring, roll-pin, and end keeper.

Second gear was always a weak point tho

Needs a proper airbox rather than those AWFUL K and N style filters

Sounds great! Runs without any rattles or valve noise. That curved lens on the camera makes the forks look bent, lol.

this was my first bike 1978 , bought it use in 1980 for $3000

And the XS11 will run and keep on running as long as you keep the oil and filter changed.

I bought one new when I was working at my first dealership as a salesman.I wasn't even 19 yet.Mine was a1979 blue w gold pinstripe.I really liked it but I wanted a bike that was quicker handling than my XS11 was so i bought a new black 1980 Z1-R. Turns out the XS11 was faster so i got spanked racing it quite a bit! Oh well still had a hell of a lot of fun anyway lol!

I like the change to the round headlight. I find it a big improvement in the bike's appearance. I've been living with an 11 Special for 20 years. I don't tire of it.
