WHAT I EAT as an Italian living in Slovakia | Simple things to cook at home
The real heart of Slovakia is not Bratislava but the High Tatras
What a stupid channel and questions you constantly ask throughout the video. Go get a real job and stop posting stupid videos about the differences between Slovakia and Italy. Most Slovaks will never visit your country. Really they could careless. More pressing problems people have in Slovakia. Your videos are nonsense and a big waste of bandwidth.
Being born in Bratislava,I agree with many things that you said. I lived in bigger cities like Vienna or Prague and spent quite some time in London, but what I liked the most about Bratislava was the proximity to nature... you really need some 10min and you can be in the forests and go 60-100km in pure nature. What I was always missing were people like you, from other countries and cities of Europe that make the town more livable and interesting. I'm glad that there are young people from Europe who want to move and live in Slovakia, this is helping a lot. I myself have some problems to live there since the biggest problem for me is the Slovak mentality. After living 15Y abroad and returning to Slovakia, even after 3years I still have difficulty to adapt even though I speak the language. But this would be a stuff for a quite long comment :D.
Horalky are peanut flavored and Tatranky have hazelnut flavor.
Try to make “kapustnica”
Cuteness overload. If you have a slovak bf/husband, I bet he loves when you speak slovak.
LOL, me and my wife are both Slovaks in our 40’s. My wife actually had a bidet when she was growing up in the 80’s in Pezinok. She said she loved it. Right now we’re renovating our apartment in Dubravka and guess what, it will have a bidet. 😂😂😂
As a Bratislava native who has lived in California, Florida, North Carolina, Germany and Australia, I was happy to come back here and raise my children. Now that they are teenagers I am glad my wife and I made this choice. Weather and people could be nicer here, but that’s why Spain and Italy exist for vacations 😂😂😂
Oh my, that Italians are late is absolutely true especially from my experience. I don’t know how many times I asked my husband why people were not at the meeting point yet and him responding : they’re Italian, it’s the Italian timing etc. Or us arriving late somewhere and him saying don’t worry they will understand we’re in Italy. In Italy arriving up to 15 min late is normal but in other countries is NOT! I can assure you of that. But have to say that many times is not because of the people miscounting or mismanaging their time but simply because of the intense and crazy Italian traffic.
It probably depends on the traffic also, my town is not so big so maybe that’s why most people I know are not late? While it happened so many times (I live abroad since many years) that people from any country were late. That’s where my point came from 🤣 I couldn’t really find a pattern.
Ajajaj, my mother is gonna say noči and doesn’t matter how many times i or my husband(Italian) correct her. For her is just that way but other words she can pronounce so don’t really know what’s the matter with her. But so many times we heard mistakes when it comes to Italian words that by now we just laugh and that’s it.
Your Slovak is pretty good but cannot give a rate need to hear more of it. Places to visit are in the east, that’s also the forgotten part of Slovakia but in my opinion the most beautiful one - Bardejov just throws you in the Middle Ages especially the main square, Stará Lubovna and it’s castle and open air museum are very nice but to visit in the summer, Levoča worth the visit as well and Spiš castle and Spišsky salaš as well just very nice and then as we say metropola vychodu - Košice, it’s cathedral is just impressive but maybe for you as an Italian not so much.
Thank you! 🙂
Ahoj:) Nice video! May I ask what kind of rice did you use for the dish with spinach? Thanks
5:00 just fyi you're looking at yourself on the screen instead of into the lens. It kinda makes it less personal for the viewer. Btw your lasagne looked soo good! I think it tastes the best when it's a little bit burnt :) a couple of suggestions for Christmas sweets/cookies: vanilkové rohlíčky, linecké, perníčky, pařížské rohlíčky and vánočka :)
Thanks for the feedback and for the suggestion 🙂
hey i am from Trnava :D next time you come here, ping me up
as a conservative christian i wouldnt want to live anywhere else. the values are still so good here. free speech, traditional families etc.
we are always amazed when non slovak people speak slovak. its a difficult language . p.s. you have supper cute accent :)
I Happy you enjoy it in slovakia you blend in very well its one of the last true places left for slovak people Maybe you go visit Transylvania to visit there!
Unfortunately, it's not possible to get vitamin D from sun from cca november to february (every place on earth has different period). However, it's still nice to take a walk on sunny day in winter.
Pekne :) Nice :)
Ďakujem!
Nice Job, i love Lasagna but i actually like it more without that beschamel thing and mostly because you can't eat alot with that even if it is tasty, you just get full to fast. Also i am curious about Slovak dish, counting on something with potatoes 👍😁😅
This is understandable. Béchamel sauce (or as we call it in Italy 'besciamella') is quite heavy, but it brings the dish to the next level :)
I hope you are having a great day I'm planning to prepare a Slovak dish and post a video (of course) about it. I already decided what to prepare, but I'd like you to suggest me some sweet food, better if Christmas related, that I could also make! please be kind and don't suggest over complicated food 💖
If you look like us, you can feel welcome. If you don't, that's where the problems begin. We distrust people who don't look and dress like us. You better blend in if you want to live here, else look out for lots of trouble.
Ak máš rada prírodu, určite odporúčam Žilinu a jej okolie - Malá Fatra, lyžiarske stredisko Vrátna, Súľovské skaly, obec Terchová... krásne kopce a doliny, ktoré majú svoju krásu v zime ❄️ i v lete ☀️.
Slovakia is transforming into Soviet Union now :-D
Poor attempt for a joke. Well, we all do what our IQ allows.
For Italians the most difficult thing is to lose italian accent. But you don't have this kind of problem (in both Slovak and English). That's fine. Only trilling R stayed. But Slovak has the same R.
Ďakujeme
Crazy
Slovakia mainly Bratislava is such a good place for living people here always talk shit about Slovakia while thinking grass is greener on the other side which is not true at all
but that is due to that they are told to believe such a lies. There are people here that put their own interests above the common good, and that is a problem
si zlata :D
All the best to you. I lived 36 years outside of Slovakia and I came back to Slovakia to live again.
People who say that Slovakia is bad and that it is bad to live there have never been anywhere in the world. Of course, it is possible to live better elsewhere, but Slovakia and the Czech Republic, Poland are wonderful for life.
and to top of that, most of the time they are painting Slovakia in black, it is not true. They just see only negatives and not positives here and this is not objective at all. Mostly they are infected with superstitions and evil tongues of those, that are unable to win regular elections here
Thank you for the food vlog. Do you have rizoto in Italy, if so how do you write it rissoto and pronounce with s or z ?
Thanks for your comment! We write 'risotto' - be ready for this: northern regions pronounce 'z', central and southern regions say 's'. Which one is correct? According to official dictionaries, originally (in Latin) 's' between vowels was pronounced 's'. However, Italian language developed this s/z difference. They are currently both accepted.
@@palmacate Nice one. I like both !
Go Kateeeeee
😊
Wish you nice stay in Slovakia. 😊
dont move to slovakia our goverment raised VAT everything will be more expensive
And you should get out too.
Slovaks have issues to being proud of their country mainly because that country could have been much better than it is. And it's being continously exploited in years. It's pretty hard to throw away this frustration. Western countries don't have the best time. But seeing Poland strive and Slovakia falling behind every single country in EU? Painful, and this is not an attack on Poland, it is a nice country.
I think everything is relative...
brava Cateee 😀
Grazieeee ☺️
I belong to the Hungarian minority in Slovakia, I learnt slovak since primary school. Its extremely difficult, you have my respect. Drzim palce 🍀
Thank you 😀💪
🤔 Len tým počtom kostolov to nebude.
Kde veže a vežičky kostolov a katedrál v Trnave dotvárajú túto špecifickú atmosféru so silným sakrálnym nádychom.
Where are all the people?
It’s the medieval town (old part of the town). Just few inhabitants there + it was like 40 degrees outside. I guess they were home or at the beach 😆
Yeah country isnt that bad at all, just the mindset of people is sometimes trashy, I recommend to my fellow slovakians travell bit more and then they will definetely value own home more.
And Budapest has the largest Italian population in Central Europe…. You’d feel so much at home in there … And the funny stuff is that Hungarian language is very hard to grasp - but all my friends from Italy living in Budapest talk Hungarian without accent… - after a year - ok gramnaticly they do mistakes but their accent is still more Hungarian than that of the Slavic peoples….
Yes. Why don’t you move to Budapest or Prague???
Yes Slovaks do make mistakes in their own language as it is so complex. My brother is a bright example of that. Always does some mistake even in writing an sms in Slovak. So be cool about it. Yes Slovak is a hard language but sometimes not even slovaks speak as they should. My grandmother was a teacher of Slovak language at elementary school and she always pointed out our mistakes and was always telling us how it is supposed to be in Slovak language as to the rules of it. We were always bothered about it.
I'm from Slovakia❤❤
with cat, more or less you got it, just you wrote the sentence "My dog thinks that he EAT the cat" :) so yeah be careful with ending, in these case A and U.... i am thinking now whats the rule for it, but i didnt remember ....maybe can be that all animals or 95% in "feminie case" in singular first person ending on A ..i am not sure :D when you used "za jeho" we all understood the sentence, just chatgpt used better word for it and he had to change all endings in others words, but was 9/10, you just simplified it anyway i give you 7,5/10 for all sentence
Sei brava in slovacco e forza!
Grazie mille 🙂
