Quite an interesting little creek - but, wow, what a casting challenge! I’d say you did quite well. Have to admit, I was a little worried a moose might make an appearance!

Challenging creek to fish but lot’s of hiding places in that vegetation. Next time try a nymph, it would be a lot more visible to fish hiding under the mats. Good work!

When tying larger foam body flies (hoppers, spiders, beetles, etc.), I push the shank of the hook with enough pressure to create a slight offset in the bend and point. It seems to increase hookups with the foam flies especially, but I’m at a loss to explain why. What a great local creek you have!

A nice creek for tenkara - perfect scale, lots of good pockets, and a tight canopy. It’s additionally rewarding when you have success with your own fly creations. Probably not an accident that you had success with the nymph…that creek looked like excellent wet fly water. Nice work!

Looks a lot like my fav streams in the Green Mtns of VT, near Manchester-Sunderland) where I use my Mizuchi. The brookies look the same size too. Colorful.

Nice video! Cooler weather is setting in huh? I spent the last two weeks in Southern Colorado living “off grid” in our camper. Left the Cimarron River @ 4:00am for home(North Texas) and it was 39 degrees. Got out of my truck to fill it up w/diesel in Amarillo in the Texas panhandle and it was already 90 degrees and heading up fast. I so wanted to make a “U-turn” and go back!
