I thought bleach feeds black mould?
Thank you. Have been waiting on the electrician guy for weeks, then am like ' hey, i can do this myself'. This video is nice, electrical wiring is my new hobby for 2025.
Excellent video! So from a safety perspective I assume its safe to use all three sockets at once with the condition that no more that there is 26 amp current between the three?
Really useful tips - thank you😊
how much or what is the going rate of the same job. i need 3 extra sockets in 3 of my flats . to rent. please anyone beforwe i get robbed off or some cowboy ruins my property. thks
I’ve messed it up 🙈 first time 🤷🏻♀️ try again 2moz 😂 thanks 🙏
Great video! super helpful
Mate you seem a nice bloke but really you should watch a pro do it , they don’t use masking tape as water will get under it and always use a fugi tool along the new mastic joint, alway clean around where your going to apply new mastic with methylated spirits
This was very helpful, thank you! 😊
you would not believe how many videos i had to sift through to find THIS ONE! The only video on the internet that ACTUALLY explains how to add an extra plug socet! from start to finish. nice job man, outstanding from start to finish. THANK YOU. Liked and Subscribed!
Thanks for this. It's very hard to get electricians in to do small jobs like this these days :(
Ironically they all say "no job too small" until you ask them to do the job
What a brilliant video. Exactly what I needed. Thank you ✊
I am doing this this week...so far i have removed 90% of the silicone...however under the glass shower panel...still have some of the previous bead right under the bottom edge of the panel. I have used the plastic scraper, applied solve it & used a stanley knife but there are still smallish strips stuck on the bottom edge of the panel. After cleaning & drying...is it still ok to re-caulk with some elements of the old caulk there???
Hope you isolated that supply bro ⚡️
I’ve got alcatrove with deep grooves and the previous owner deffo just slapped thick coat of paint and its clumps in areas, what would you say if a good way of getting of those lumps, or do I just follow this same process because I have tried but its just taking ages. I’m also afraid to use paint stripper because the wood is very old and mis shaped
would this work if i wanted to spur off to 2 double sockets? or would the load be too much?
Liked seeing what can go wrong rather than perfect clips everyday 💪🏻👍🏻
Great video thank you, can you make some more?
I always had problems with silicone in my bathroom to be honest. I was told it was a good idea to put a tiny bead in first then do the main bead over the top. It has worked for me
10:25 the socket had two earth holes, but you put both earths into one. Why is that?
GOOD VIDEO. How do you avoid the brush stroke marks being left in the paint? Is there an art to painting or is it to with the quality of the paint?
Thanks so much buddy. I’m doing my grans tomorrow and feeling the pressure. This was awesome.
Advice for anyone watching, don't use your finger to smooth the silicone after you've used the Cramer tool. It will create a concave bead which will allow the mould to grow in and the bacteria on your finger will also cause it to go mouldy. Just use the tool.
You might be good at plastering but leave the Electrical to people that know what they're doing. Cable should have gone to the ceiling then across and down to the new socket with steel capping for protection. That's just an accident waiting to happen.
Hey. i want to add a plug socket about a meter above from a current one. Is there a way to feed a cable down to the current one, without having to cut the wall? Like if i cut the new socket, and feed it down behind the wall to current one. Is that doable?
@NoelleFrancisco: That really all depends on what type of wall you have.
Lucky it was plasterboard
It's plastic the tool he used,as I have one also
exellent.
So can i just sand and paint over gloss without problem. (With datin paint) My skirting has very old paint on it. Would i be ok. I wont need a primer. Would i
Beautiful. Thank you 👊🏾
Great video!! Thankyou ❤
Tons of videos on UTube. And all have 2 things in common: none will show you how to form corners and how to make two beads meet. No why? Because it’s a mess.
As beginners, we could use masking tape to make sure that the silicone only sticks to the desired surface and a scraper will definitely help create a good finish.
@@SC00BYD0PAPA Definitely don't use tape as the silicone edge won't be sticking to the tile, it'll be sticking to the tape. So when you remove the tape there will be parts of the silicone bead that are not stuck to the tile. Over time, water will get behind it.
I wouldn't advise masking tape on any area that's exposed to water. It will have a slight lip, which is likely to Peel away. I've used it though for caulking skirting boards, etc.Where you can smooth the lip with your finger afterwards. @SC00BYD0PAPA
I use the smoothing tool the other way around. Turned out better results.
Was just going to comment the same, he's using it the wrong way around.
1. Open the door to get it out of the way.
Great video. So silicone cleaner, mold mildew cleaner and follow up with bleach. Will you tell me name of exact tool used to removed the silicone for usa
Do you need to clean up any silicon residue that may be left, squeezed, on the tiles alongside the joint?
if its getting on way of sealant yes, otherwise it depends if client pays you for that or you are doing this for yourself, then tiles must be cleaned with something else as between tiles is not sealant but filler with certain code of colour !
He sounds like Shawn malone from Goggle box.
Brilliant tutorial! Thank you extremely helpful 🎉
How do you bring electric power to a bathroom, for say an electric shower one is fitting. ?/
Happens to the best pal. My boss, a plumber and builder of many years, removed his radiators for decorating but left one of the TRV's on snowflake mode just not thinking. And of course it was winter and the temp dropped below so he woke up to a flooded downstairs!
Any way to adjust the hinges instead of a full cut?
Then you'd have a problem with needing some taking off the top of the door.
It's a dot and dab wall, why didn't you just feed cable up to a point and across to the desired end, no need to cut all that plaster board out
Is the removal tool metal or plastic please ?
its plastic - metal would scratch many surfaces
I have a metal scraper that has a plastic cover which also works as a scraper!
@@sophiewhitehouse6718 that sounds ideal! Same premise though of the contact must be plastic
To comply with the regs you should have gone from existing socket up to the ceiling across and down to new socket. That us correct zoneing
exactly!! not only that but, with no trunking slap bang in the middle of the wall next you fire a nail for a picture hook straight into your live cable, and learn the hard way that this was NOT! good, now we will also have millions of houses with wires getting no trunking chucked in the wall all over a wall that is almost certain to get pictures hung!
To comply with the regs he should hire an electrician, you are allowed to replace like for like but modification to or addition to a circuit is not allowed.
@@markconroy4861 Yeah you need a MEIWC
my wall has a fused spur thing on the wall but I need a socket above it for a tv can I just run it from the fused spur thing
If you need to watch a video and then ask questions you're not competent enough to do this.
I thought you had to put armour protection in for a wire like that otherwise anyone could put a drill straight through it, especially at that height.
Do you not want to check that twin & earth isn't faulty before plastering it all in? Or does that generally not develop any faults?
the wall is so soft. when the wall is RC?
Brilliant! Any Sparky's advice here...I have a kitchen socket that when I plug any appliance into it trips all the bottom floor sockets by the mains breaker? Any ideas? Thinking from this vid it may need the box earthed? Will check again but when I checked no loose wires and everything where it should (wasn't aware of earthing back box at that time so will check) cheers
likely just too much plugged in on one circuit, could either pull a seperate circuit feed for the kitchen plug or double check the breaker isnt over loaded with two feeds if its a single pole breaker.
