@@ravedisc of course a drastic difference in weight will have an affect. I’m talking about the difference between a 150lb rider and 170lb rider. Difference is negligible. Comes down to gearing and tune. Although if a bike makes 120hp it makes 120 hp. It’s not going to magically make 130hp with a lighter rider that’s not how that works. Weight affects friction (whp) but that is also negligible unless you’re talking 200+ mph purpose built roll bikes… friction is still a bigger factor than weight. Wind resistance, bearings, chain, brakes, etc.

@@BlueDevilMoto okay, now I can say that we in fact agree. Yes, such weight differences wouldn't have a factually important impact.

Decreasing weight does not increase power. That doesn't make sense. What it does do is increase power to weight RATIO, which again, has no bearing on top speed. Over 99% of all forces exerted on your vehicle at top speed is drag. Drag doesn't care about mass. Now, where weight (mass) would come into play is when there is a slope. If there's an upwards slope, then a heavier vehicle will have a lower top speed than a lighter one (because you're no longer fighting just drag, but also gravity), and if there's a downward slope then the heavier vehicle will actually have a HIGHER top speed than the lighter one (because gravity actually accelerates you more through drag, hence why a feather shaped metal object will fall faster than an actual feather).

@@mikehawk1441 it doesn't increase power to the engine, but to the wheels, which in fact means there's less waste of power and thus it is more powerful, even without having more engine power. The rest, I can agree on many points.

@@morganlane2489 just a more upright version of its sportbike counterpart. Usually has less plastics and handlebars instead of an aggressive seating position.

Originaly a term from the 80s and 90s when people started to pull fairings off their race bikes (GSX-R 750 etc.) and made them naked. bikes without fairings from the 70s and before that were just bikes i presume 😁so originally, naked bikes were not more comfortable but people started to mount superbike handlebars instead of the low clipons to them to get a more relaxed seating position. Usually, modern naked bikes use the same frame and often slightly detuned but more torquey engines of a sport bike of the same brand....such as the MT10/R1 Yamaha combo or the GSX-S1000/GSX-R 1000 from Suzuki.

I just have a Duffboy racemap from TuneECU for now. Loss of low end is a result of your stacks - they can be setup to work with a correct tune to improve low end OR top end (think more air volume vs. more air velocity).

@@BlueDevilMoto Gotcha. I was just looking at TuneECU and saw that map on the website. Just got my DealerTool today. Might still get TuneECU, but functionality is a bit different/less for the 2013+ bikes I think. I went for the VenturiSystem velocity stacks since someone reviewed them and said it didn't affect their low end...but all bikes are different, ambient temp., elevation, blahblahblah. Maybe I should have splashed for the variable length stacks....but more complexity and the idea of 3d printed parts on my bike...🤮 I guess I'll keep playing with AFR in small increments for now. Thanks!

Actually, I just took a closer look at their published dyno chart for stock vs. VS stacks. You are correct, looks like there is chunk of torque missing right in the beginning compared to stock before it overtakes and outperforms OEM for the rest of the curve. Makes sense. The VS stacks are a little bit taller, but also significantly wider than the OEM stacks. I'll probably convert it back to stock and test from there. Thanks again. If you hadn't mentioned it, I would have kept chasing EXUP fueling.

Just to follow up...OEM stacks re-installed and reverted to unmodified full Arrow base map. My problem is fixed. More pleasant to ride as a street bike. More torque coming off idle. I guess I'll keep the VS stacks to swap in if I take it to the track...or if I want it to feel more like an R6. 😅

@@BlueDevilMoto Thanks! I have some double-sided foam tape already. Didn't occur to me to wrap it, but I think I'll give it a shot. Need to cover up some minor scratches. I remember finding your channel when you had the yellow decals on the blue bodywork. So sick. The 765 style Arrow exhaust is clean as hell too. Very nice build.
