Cool to see yall refining your processes Also glad to hear that you're happy with the Benchmark Abrasives flap discs! I'm still using my 1st (of like 5) boxes from months ago haha
We've already went through 3 boxes 🤣 lol
@slyhlife i imagine your grinders see a little more work than mine right now haha
What amperage did you use?
My bad, I didn't even realize I left that part out! We cut it at 40 amps with 60 psi on the Razorweld45
Thank you for the video.
Thanks so much for watching!
That barn just keeps on giving! Haha Nice improvement on the coop and interesting idea with the bags of leaves You'll have to let us know how that turns out!
One of these days, we will run out of all the old barn material for projects, but it has most definitely come in handy for more projects than I can count! Haha Yeah, I honestly don't know if the bags will do much, but figured it couldn't hurt. It will take a while to get enough bags to do the whole coop. I should have started saving sooner!
I cut only aluminum for the last 3 years on my pro table. My signs are mostly.08 5052.
This was definitely our first go around with Aluminum. The process was a bit rough, but we were happy with the end result. Thanks so much for watching!
one thing to think about too... you have more mess when your cutting slower wether is aluminum or steel also how much more are pressure are you using with 3/16 verses what you normally cut with ? more air will really make that thing throw water ...
Yeah, that's a good thought. We ended up cutting it with 60 psi, which is the same that we use for our mild steel. Next time we use the sheet, we plan on doing much less water in the table per your recommendation. Thanks again for all of the positive feedback!
ok i apologize i went back and looked i did miss your email back so i deleted the original post that i sent i am sorry i didnt see your email
@richsharp1524 no worries at all, we appreciate you being so eager and willing to help us out. We still have a lot to learn, ha!
looks great nice job 😊 what were you using for air pressure ?? i only use 1/2" water in mine and i use a rust inhibitor and my water is always clean looking never black but i dont cut steel as a general rule .. i use sterling cool and yes the aluminum does put off gasses but i think with the slower cut speeds and thicker metal you got to experience much more of the off gasses ... i cut thinner material and almost twice the speed so i dont get the gasses and mess. but anyway great job 😊
Thank you Richie! We used 60 psi for air pressure. We did get your email and all of your signs look fantastic. (I did reply to the email, I apologize if you didn't get it). We knew we had to have done something wrong, and hadn't even thought about the water being too high. That is a great point. The client picked up the signs, and has already said he wants some more things cut. So we will be using the rest of that sheet hopefully and will definitely lower the water level next time! Thanks for watching :)
Congrats on getting some stone down, looks great! Looks like #4s or #5s maybe? Curious why no road felt if using small gravel? Or a larger base like #1s or #2s if no felt? Certainly not suggesting anything is wrong, just curious! Hope the small gravel doesn't dissappear into the clay/mud on ya!! Lastly, would not recommend a screen on the culvert. That will definitely cause it to clog more frequently Good luck!
@StaySlyh thanks! After talking with our contractor, he suggested using #4's just like he did here. He puts in a lot of driveways and log road landings in the area. The only area he seemed to be concerned with was the apron where we built up with fill. If we end up needing to come back in with some bigger base rock, we can, but hopefully it holds up ha! Thanks for watching!

You probably should have put down breaker rock before the gravel. I made that mistake when I started building my driveway too.
We actually did think about that and brought it up to Jesse, but he suggested we just go with #4's because of how compact and hard the clay was. Hopefully it holds up. If not, there is another video for the future! :) ha
Watched it, see ya laters👍
@Hasdac1896 thanks so much, hopefully you enjoyed. Have an awesome evening!
@slyhlife gud vid 👍 watching Tim pool now, see how you lot voted.. 😁
Part two seems to be set to private and vote Trump👍
Fixed it thank you! And I did vote today :)
@slyhlife 👍I will watch it in a bit my friend, someone's uploaded guardians of the galaxy volume 3, 😁
great job 😊 its so satisfying taking a sheet of metal and turning it into art ... and i knowb what you mean about being stressed when a cut stops when its almost done i have been there myself .. But fortunately i have always been able to pic up where i left off also . i have been cutting only billet aluminum for the last year and a half .063 have 5,860 cuts so far that little machine has been a money maker for sure bur im getting a 4 by 8 so i can do larger signs i have done quite a few 47" wide signs but its 18:59 maxed out pretty much there anyway great job nice video your place look really nice keep up the good work 😊
Thank you very much for the kind words. We have talked about starting to use more aluminum for signs. We've also tossed around the idea of getting the Crossfire XR. We have made signs larger than the table and welded them together, but it was more stressful than what it was worth. We are currently quoting a 4'x4' sign that we will most likely outsource for the cutting. We always seem to find a way in the end. Thanks again, and have a blessed day!
@ i love the fact that it is light and does not rust its 5052 very soft metal but super light and looks so nice when the signs are cut 😊
@@richsharp1524 We are actually quoting a big aluminum sign right now, and would actually love any advice you have to offer (machine settings) as this will be our first aluminum job.
@ send me your email if you have one that i can send pics and info to i will help anyway i can 😊
@@richsharp1524 Awesome, thank you so much! Our email is support@metalyourway.com
It can feel like the work you did by hand was a complete waste when hiring a larger peice of equipment. I learned that when doing work on our property.
For sure. Having the right piece of equipment for the job makes a huge difference!
Looks great! Maybe consider a respirator if grinding & painting everyday?? Regardless, nice video 👍
Thank you good sir!
Daaaaannggg ... thems gonna be some spoiled chickens! Egg production better be thru the roof lol
Unfortunately, they have only been giving us a few eggs a day since the big move haha
Great build.. You've caught me up with the grey hair 😀. That's marriage and children...Catch ya next time..
Yo!!! It's Hasdac!!! 🎉 I'm glad you actually came and checked out the channel :)
The grey hair started 13 years ago when we got married, but the kids have definitely accelerated the process!
Heloo young man, long time no see, your brother told me you got a channel. I have subbed.👍
@Hasdac1896 so good to hear from you! I sure hope you are doing well! Thank you for the sub, and for watching and commenting. We are trying to post fairly regularly, so hopefully you can stick around and enjoy our journey. Until next time!!
@@slyhlife I will be watching 👍
Sorry to hear the chicks were struggling, never fun to lose them :( Also, post hole diggers sure do build character lol! You know we've got that 3pt auger that you're welcome to use if needed! The homestead is looking great as always!
Thanks! Your auger did come up haha, but we didn't have to go very deep.
I feel your pain with the chickens. We had chickens for the first time this year. We lost several to predators, and friendly fire between younger and older chickens.
I hate to hear you lost some too. It's a non-stop struggle. What we didn't show in this video was the racoon we had to dispose of trying to get into the coop. I'm thinking he may have been who snatched the last one we lost.
@@slyhlife Yeah we trapped 6 raccoons, 2 opossums, and a skunk before we finally stopped losing chickens.
Kinda hard to tell on video, but looks like the property gets pretty STEEP in some places!! Can't wait to come put some work in on it!
Yes it does! Right behind where the cabin is going, there is a pretty big drop. So the idea, is to clear a bit of it and put a deck out back overlooking the cliff and ravine. Should be a pretty cool view!
@slyhlife sounds awesome 👌 I was also thinking, we still have a ton of guardrail posts if yall ever decide to put a little more permanent of a retaining wall in You're welcome to borrow the auger, might be a great use for those posts? Just an idea 🤷♂️
I'm fairly new to youtube my self. I'd recommend you turn the audio of your music down to match or be lower then the rest of the audio. That is a mistake I had made until a couple people noted it in the comments. Congratulations on the land purchase!
Thank you for the feedback. I have honestly been struggling with the audio while editing. I've been using the free version of Microsoft Clipchamp, but am definitely going to try a different software (if you have any recommendations). Also, we are looking into possibly buying a mic to help. Thanks so much for watching!
@@slyhlife I use capcut personally. I tried a few and that was the one I liked the best. They have a free version or the pro version is like 8$ a month I believe. I'd say it's worth going pro if you like the program. As for a mic if you want a mic for using outside while your filming I like the dji wireless mic the best. For voice overs I use a yeti mic.
@@diygrind This is awesome information. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to help us out with this. We've got a lot to learn still!
Looking good, can't wait to see it in person!
We're excited to show you guys! Hopefully soon we can plan a trip down.
Funny how small jobs often turn into giant holes in the yard lol Great work - I'm sure it'll be nice to not have to mow around that anymore!
Definitely! We really like to test the limits of the 'ole Mahindra lol
Are you pushing all the brush into the valley? Or are we gonna circle the trucks up, sip on some 100, and have a nice bonfire this fall??
Bonfire for sure!
@@slyhlife thank God! I'll bring the drinks
The brush hog works a little better with the blades facing down 😂 Teasing, of course haha. Glad you and the ole Mahindra made it out unscathed! Cant wait to haul some more iron down there and cut in a driveway!!
And we can't wait for the help! :)
@@slyhlife we oughta just open up a dirt work company at this rate ... only caveat, we ONLY push in driveways. That's it lol
Look at that SASSY 3rd gen Cummins in the background .... We seem to have a thing for "3rd gens" 'round here haha Glad the tiller was useful, beats hell out of shovel work! Garden looks amazing!! Lynch pins have a way of just disappearing, dont they lol
Yes they do! And thank you again for letting us borrow the tiller, it worked like a charm (and honestly was quite satisfying). I bet your 3rd gen will be faster than the Cummins lol
@slyhlife Absolutely, no problem Idk if it'll be faster, but I bet it'll do a better burn out (flash back to Andrew trying to get the 22s to spin in front of mom and dad's house LOL)
Wonder if that fancy pants plasma doodad can cut out car parts?? 🤔
You betcha! It can, it has, and I am sure it will continue to do so! ;)
