Final Cut and iMovie have no troubles editing the footage which is on a AVCHD formatted SD card, as long has it has ALL the files on it, not only the .mts files. Than it gets difficult. But my other NLE of choice, LumaFusion, can not handle .mts files. In that case your method is very handy.

I've had a Canon G30 for nearly 6 years and I've never been able to get the "Slow & Fast Motion" function operational. No matter what my settings, the "Slow & Fast Motion" function is greyed-out and not select-able. I would love to be able to shoot in slow motion on occasion but still can't figure out how.

Got a G30 to shoot wildlife. When in manual focus to get the blur from the trees to focus through to the animal, something automatically kicks in, "Focus Assist" corrects the blur from the trees, takes the focus off the animal and corrects it back to the closest object which is the trees. How do you turn that off? I have looked everywhere I can think of, even in the manual it does not talk about a "focus assist" that I could find. Do you or anyone know how to turn that off?
