@jamesross1799 they do go hand in hand at times! It amazes me how many people in UK haven't seen a kingfisher or otter, something we anglers take for granted!

@@albionangling very true. I've had an otter 3 ft away from me and a kingfisher once sat on my rod tip for a full 2 minutes I had my hand on the rod at the time and could actually feel the sensation of it changing its grip with its claws.

@jamesross1799 how you describe that kingfisher experience inspires some beautiful images, thanks for sharing. You will never forget that! Watching otters predate birds is something else, seen some brutal hunts take place on the opposite banks when barbel fishing in late Summer, low light conditions. Bone crunching acoustics at times, raw nature at its best

@@albionangling it was whilst barbel fishing on the wharfe wich is a beautiful place anyway. It definitely stands out in my memory.

@jamesross1799 one of my most memorable otter experiences was watching an otter follow some young Goosander under a weeping willow opposite bank. Deathly silence then blood curdling cries, then bone crunching. That was Boston Spa on Wharfe funnily enough!

I found that multiple swims produced at this venue to be honest! Not writing off the winter roach opportunities there, had some lovely roach when targetting Tinca especially on the corn

@union310 I have different pins set up differently. The okuma sheffield off the top seems to work best for me. Better for windy conditions too and I find less line gets around the back when casting too 😀.

No that was the 1lb perch I had resting in the net. Spooked it dropping the small one back in.

Out of respect for a close friend and local angler, we have promised not to reveal locations for this river. Follow the instagram and PM us and we could give you some rough pointers though :)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the river name has been mentioned once in all the videos we have done on this river. You would also need to be local to be familiar with the swims (so it would be nothing new or unknown to those anglers). Crucially, we fish with multiple local anglers who have seen us with camera and have had no issues thus far (quite the opposite, a lot of positive engagement on the bank), this includes two anglers who have fished the river for over 20yrs and have reported no increase in pressure or any concerns. You will know yourself that access is tough and very few anglers can be bothered with the effort. Most days there's nobody down there and its a very challenging river at the best of times. Appreciate your concerns raised here and should there be any sniff of increased pressures directly associated with this channel we would clearly take that seriously.

@joeking57 not quite :). We enjoy being part of an angling community and on the whole we have had positive feedback from people who enjoy the content. There's a plethora of channels who are much better anglers than us, we are just a group of mates having fun. If you're not a fan, no stress man.

The simple methods still work the best at times 😀, although there is no doubt that rod tech has come on in leaps and bounds!

Surely litter and pollution is far more damaging than a camera or two!

My first year living in the north west was untypical for the Ribble, a dry winter followed by summer drought, could walk side to side across most of the Ribble throughout the whole summer! Crazy stuff. It meant I could film from above and memorise the riverbed though!

Backlog! Not been out much since open season, although have had some success rolling meat for Ribble Barbel (next edit once the Tench Video is finished!)

Not had a bream from the Ribble yet 😅, it's all focus on barbel on fly for Ribble now!!!

You can catch on fly most stretches of the River Ribble, the only stretches we tend to fish are free stretch (in Preston) and Elston (Wigan card). Was on Elston this afternoon, saw a lot of decent brownies taking flies off the top, a really strong hatch early afternoon today!

@damiengreenwood5137 the bank opposite golf course in low water conditions on free stretch can be ideal In low water conditions can be great fun on dry fly, there's a long, straight stretch with an obvious retaining wall to stop banks being undercut, often get trout and chub topping all along that wall and it's good spot for wading safely too.
