Too close to electrical box .
I’m growing this guy in Georgia. Got it from Far Reaches Farm also. It’s doing very well here so far, hasn’t flowered yet, but I’ve only had it 1 year.
What size yucca did you buy ?
How are these cacti doing?
Love your excitement to know and be in this beautiful place!
Thank you for a delightful tour. I live in SE Arizona and the next time I'm up in Tucson I'll give Sabino Canyon a look.
It's beautiful there! Thanks for sharing your experience. 😊
That small arm at the base has almost doubled in size and is blooming like crazy all over the top
Cylindropuntia versicolor
i love the videos bro
Planted it outdoors this year in Bavaria, Germany which is 6B. Let's see how well it does here. There are plenty of Yucca filamentosa in gardens here. I'm optimistic it will survive the winter without protection.
It would be glorious to see this garden again in the spring. Hope you're living the dream!
Blessing
I love these birds
Is it safe to buy these at Lowes? They were just out in the open.
@@myronhensel I would definitely be careful about buying them from any big box store, unless they are growing in a pot filled with soil. They have a relatively low success rate if you buy them bare root and they’ve been sitting out in the air for a while. It’s definitely possible to save them (as I did with this one) but your chances are sadly pretty low.
Does your cactus have glochids? I know their spineless so they don’t have the long thorns but what about the little ones that are like fiberglass that you can’t find and stick in ya fingers?
I agree, absolutely beautiful. I love xeriscape, Sonoran landscape I saw in Phoenix. Prairie gardens by Piet Oudolf are mesmerizing as well. I hope to find a zone 8 area in Utah to grow a food forest.
Echinocereus Santaritensis? It's very similar to Arizonicus.
These are pretty commonly planted in Oklahoma, in fact, I just helped a neighbor of mine transplant one that another neighbor wanted to get rid of, it’s been there for a long time and in it’s sheltered location it survived -12°F in 2021
What are the zones homes and how many bones?
We have the Hudson pare here where I live and is out of control which I think you call the halo cactus we are trying to irradiate it with poison
Those get huge!!!! Arent yhe largest spider
How invasive are the roots? I worry planting them too close to water or gas lines might become a problem later on?

@@BenPamintuan-d7n They are pretty non invasive. They have a few big main roots that are very shallow, and many small spindly roots that go a little further down to capture water.
Great video. !!! I picked up one bare rooted plant at Cactus Joes ,Las Vegas ,during my road trip out west. Also to note Star Nursery had a great amount of large ones for sale. They were unrooted cuttings. Very tall. I’ve been home(Houston Texas) for three weeks. Post Hurricane Beryl now I’m ready to plant it. I hope it grows well. Again great video
Hey. I'm in SoCal and have a few of these. How did it go?
How often did you water the ocotillo for? And was that amount the same once planted? Returning mine today (thank God for Lowe’s 1 year policy on shrubs!), after having it for almost a year and remaining the same- if not worse. Will get a new one.
Much gratitude 🙏 stunning bio region
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Thanks for the chance to see such a beautiful place. It's unlike any forest I've seen before. The sound of the insects and occasional puff of wind fitted perfectly with the environment, also the long views of just plants and lack of abrasive commentary. I grew up around oak woodlands in the west so it's vaguely familiar but also very different. Nice video.
Thank you so much for your kind comment, I’m so glad you enjoyed my tour through this ecosystem. This environment is very special and unique for the United States, it’s right on the border of the typical Southwest and tropical Central America. I guess you could say I’m pretty fortunate to live so close to this beauty. I Really appreciate you watching!
Lovely
Thanks so much for watching!
Looks like a trail in the Madera Canyon area. I miss it...but not this time of year.
You’re correct, and I don’t blame you lol! It was about 105° plus humidity by the end of this hike. Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for sharing! It is a great joy to be taken to this beautiful landscape.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much for watching!
Glad to see you mixing with the locals😅😅😅😊
Thank you, really fine. Many of the plants at wonderful TBG are also everywhere around town, often in road dividers. (Think you'll want to know jojoba is pronounced ho-HO-ba.)
That doesn’t look like the horse crippler. Looks more like devils tongue.
I’m really enjoying the cinematic arc of your channel, your videos are becoming quite professional! Such a cool shot, the iconic Sonoran silhouette, gorgeous!
The oak along the Mt Lemmon hwy near Molino basin are mostly Quercus oblongifolia type of blue oak and Quercus emoryi a type of red oak. Higher up Quercus arizonica occurs and in bear canyon Quercus rugosa, Quercus hypoleucoides and hybrids Q. emoryi x hypoleucoides, near San Pedro Vista there are Quercus chrysolepis and Quercus gambelii. On the north side of the mountain there are some Quercus turbinella. There are also Quercus grisea on the north side of the mountain but can be difficult to know if it's arizonica or grisea due hybrids between the species. There are Quercus pungens, Quercus palmeri , Q. havardii, and Quercus toumeyi in Arizona. And many other hybrids.
Good stuff man really informative.
Round leaf buffalo berry bushes are so sick. I want one.
Great video and explaination of the varied plant life. I too love this place and have travelled from north Idaho 3 years in a row just to spend time out there. Something magical about this area! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I can only imagine the sweet aroma, with the desert in full bloom.
Thank u. Love the sky islands. Excited for the monsoon
Thank you for watching! The Sky islands are magical. I can’t wait for monsoon season either, it’s my absolute favorite time of year!
Sweet 🤙🇧🇻
Thanks so much for watching! 🌵
Great tour!😊
Thank you Juan, I’m glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching! 🌵
That echinocereus might be a coccineus
I had a botanist who watches my videos ID it as Echinocereus arizonicus, but the two species look very similar. This one was just a little too big to be coccineus in my opinion so I’m kinda leaning more towards arizonicus - especially with the elongated style on the flower. Thanks for watching 🌵
Soo nice video man 🤙🇧🇻
I didn't realize what a 'real' desert was until I saw the Atacama desert in northern Chile. The Sonoran looks downright lush be comparison!😊
Where's the big stomp
