Our Completed Custom Bally/Midway Tapper Build
มุมมอง 2413 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is a completely custom build of the cocktail version of Tapper. This is not an original cabinet but it's pretty close! Not running original hardware but we are using a Bitkit 2 which is the next best thing in my opinion. The bit kit is all FPGA and no emulation so for us this works out fantastic! All things considered I think it came out great. Enjoy!

You're welcome! Thanks again for hooking up that control panel. It really sets it off!

nice restore! state of the arcade tour coming soon?
Thank you! Yes it's going to come out later this month. There was a slight delay because my son had to be with his mom over the last weekend. He wanted to be in this video so I'm hoping to get it released before the end of the month.
@@kazelasarcade cant wait! just got my payphone up in my arcade and looking to install that kit you used as well.
@@laugzarcade That's awesome! Be prepared for your guests to go nuts! A little advice, keep a quarter in the coin return slot. When people check it for the first time, the looks on their faces is priceless when they pull out that quarter! 😅
@ so far they go nuts just seeing the phone on the wall..can imagine how they will be when it rings. lol
Fantastic game, good job on sorting it out. Plays great! Centuri made a lot of great games that were overlooked at times. Volume good on game when you were playing. I just played this game at home 2 days back.
Thank you I appreciate it! I agree Centuri made some great titles. I've got a bunch of cabinets made by them.
Simple game but its my favorite arcade game
@@christocream I think the concept is simple, but the game gets hard😅. I still have yet to make my first million point jump. Definitely a game that will never leave the collection 💪
Just wondering if before you changed the power supply did it play blind?
@@maxmt4325 No signs of life whatsoever. There was a tube in the cabinet but it did not have the chassis so the monitor would not have worked anyway. Luckily I had that extra 25 in to throw in there
@@kazelasarcadeCool. Yea my board is getting 5v and monitor powers on but getting a red screen. Going to replace those cap on the board and see what happens. Replaced power supply and no changes. Also what is that board by the power supply for? The police lights by the marquee?
@@maxmt4325 try that let me know how it goes. Yes that little board with the red LEDs controls the flashing red and blue lights in the marquee.
@@kazelasarcadeyea no luck with the changing of the caps. Definitely stumped now lol
@maxmt4325 You said you checked your 5 volts. Did you check your grounds? How does the edge connector look?
Probably the best game setup I've seen so far. Where did you get the Mike Tyson mini standee that can be seen at minute 7:28 above rampage? Very cool!
@@daviddunnaway8665 Thank you! We are going to do another walk-through video sometime this month hopefully. I got the Mike Tyson acrylic from a guy on Facebook marketplace. Thank you for watching!
What a fantastic arcade you’ve created. A huge amount of work has gone into creating that 🙌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! It's definitely been a labor of love! Keep an eye out for our updated tour coming out hopefully next weekend 🤞
❤
Very nice restore. After I watched your video I found the game on my 60-1. It is a very fun game.
Thank you, it's definitely unique! I actually first saw this game on my 60-1 as well
Great cab. Very unique.
Thanks, definitely a keeper!
Always liked the look of the Moon Patrol cab.
Same here! I also like that it's not too deep and doesn't take up a massive footprint like some other games do
Nice conversion from the Moon Patrol cab! What a strange, yet intriguing concept for an arcade game, and one I've never heard of till now. Looks like it would be fun to play, will have to check this one out in MAME.
Yeah who knows what goes to these developers heads when they design these things. But hey it works and it's such a sought after game! I myself like it a lot!
thanks for showing this game. I've worked in a few arcades and have never seen this one.
Definitely a unique game that's for sure. I really enjoy this one!
where in mi are you?
We are from the Detroit area.
Cool I am in Lansing are you on klov?
@whatwveris I have a profile there but I'm not active so much. Username is Petekazel
Looks pretty cool! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Definitely a fun obscure game. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!
Awesome pickup of a super cool game! Congrats! But wait, wait, wait… where did you get that 🔥 Christmas sweater??? 😎
@@overtimearcade Thanks Charlie! You know what, I will put a link to your store in the description. I love the shirt! Super warm and comfy! 😎
I only played this game on MAME. It’s weird for sure but I agree with you that it’s better than Galaxian.
Definitely!
King and Ballon is a great game. The mechanics of the game are very original. The thing with the bitkit is that the voices should be louder. Same thing happens with Space Cruiser, the music is crazy loud and the effects are very low. When you press the fire button you can't hear anything, but the sound effect is there.. just very very low.
That's my big gripe with the bitkit. That's why I'd love to get my original PCB fixed and have it 100% original. But in a pinch this will do
Great unique game! I have it on my 60-1. You have to love the not so popular titles with the non-cliche' gameplay. Cool to see a full cabinet. Cool channel, gave you a sub. Will check more video's.
Thanks for your sub and watching! More videos to come
Never heard of this one. Great that you keep it safe and dont convert it or put modern led lamps all over it, etc... I got a return of the invaders which is also extremly rare.
Definitely! I've never heard of return of the invaders. Is it a clone of space invaders? I'm going to check it out!
Never seen the cab before but have played it. Awesome!
It's definitely unique!
Nice work on the restoration! Definitely fashioned off the classic Galaxian/Space Invaders theme. King And Balloon is one of those games that slipped past me it seems, had no idea it existed till now. The cabinet looks clean, very nice artwork.
I was in the same boat with you. I learned about it with my old 60 in one I used to have. Then of course I saw it on my bit kit. But this is the only dedicated I've ever seen in person
What’s the best way to chat with you ? There is a video you have regarding a pay phone. Wanted to ask you what link did you use to obtain the keys to unlock it?
I did not obtain any keys. I had to drill out the locks
That's a cool little diorama. What site did you purchase this from? Looking into getting one. Thank you for sharing. 👍🏼
Thank you, it was actually a Facebook ad I saw. I tried to find the website but I could not find the one I purchased from. I did see a few on Etsy however.
Great pick up! They had a Moon War on the floor at Funspot a very long time ago. Haven't seen one in person since then. Good luck getting it up and running!
I'm hoping to get out to fun spot for the first time next summer! The place looks absolutely fantastic! I have never seen a moon war in person anywhere yet. Other than mine of course 🤣.
Nice pick up, I loved Moon Patrol! Finding an original board like that is a real treat. Hopefully you can get it fully functioning with a little love. The fact it boots up and initially runs is very promising. I can just vaguely remember time traveler its been so long, but it was a fascinating game. I know it was created by Rick Dyer, the creator of Dragon's Lair.
Although this game is not Moon Patrol, I am confident I can get it up and running. I've played time traveler but I'd really like to play holiseum as well. When I was at Brad's I saw the attract mode on it and it looks interesting!
@@kazelasarcade I've never played Holosseum either. The only time I encountered the game in an arcade it was shut down sadly. It looks like a really interesting fighting game though. I wonder if there's a version of MAME it runs in? I know Sega's Dark Edge came out around the same time. That was another early attempt by Sega at creating a 3D fighting game; though I never really cared for that one.
Great pickup! I love Chase HQ. But I've never seen this one. Awesome that you fixed it on the cheap!
Thanks! I love Chase HQ myself too! So far I'm liking this version too!
Awesome job
Thank you brother, I appreciate it!
@ your welcome
Awesome add Kazleas! I totally remember playing this in my local arcade a whole bunch. Thanks for showing the whole process.
I wish I would have known about this one back in the day. I played the predecessor Chase HQ at Galloping Ghost. I think both are pretty fun games!
Well that was a refreshing blast to the past, what an epic throwback of an iconic racing game.
Thank you! I think it's a pretty fun game!
Nice pick up 👍 That motorcycle gang coming out of nowhere was intense 😅
🤣 I know, to me that came out of left field as well! 👍
You don't need all that. The built in mechanism works as a regular analog phone. You can just connect 2 wires to the analog line in your house.
Show us how to video. I still have another payphone I need to convert
@@kazelasarcade You'd have to show me the other side of your phone but it doesn't typically require even a video. The main board of the phone isn't on the receiver portion (the part in your video) it's inside the chassis. There's countless variations of phones but the vast majority of them will give you dialtone with just the wire pair off your phone run into the main board. If you're missing the mainboard ENTIRELY then you might have found that little kit to be a good solution. I'm currently working on programming some phones now but they're "smart" payphones and they have the ability to be programmed. I will be posting a video about that most likely if I ever get it to work as there seems to be nothing on it.
@@SchrodingerGauge i just bought a bellsouth one, would this be considered an analog that could tap into those lines? the guy i asked said it couldnt, as its not a VOIP setup?
on top of your apb arcade i been looking for that sign can you send me a link to where I can find it thank you
If you referring to the toy car that's up there, It is not meant to be there from the factory. It took me a while to find a period correct toy police car of that size. I can tell you that the company who made the car is called funrise and the toy was made in 1992.

Fun game, yet I have no memory of ever seeing one in an arcade back in the 80's.
I was in the same boat! This game was released in the midst of the video game crash in 1983. A lot of arcades and businesses briefly stopped buying games and fears that they would waste their money. The game was not popular back then but it is highly sought after right now. This is a game that will never leave my collection.
I wanna get one but no one would use it because nobody knows nobody numbers except their mom
Mine rarely gets used but it's definitely a conversation piece during parties. Also my actual pay phone was used in a music video that is featured on the channel here. Just go to playlists and look for the remake of Tommy Tutones Jenny (867-5309).
I take it the original laser disk game in perfect working condition Dragons Lair is R.I.P. or it ain't happening.
I do not have a dragon slayer but I do know that it does run off laser disk. If you don't have the laser disc player there is a computer system called Dexter which you can use in place of it.
Cool video! Is that a Mac SE laying on the floor nearby?!
I'm going to have to say I think so 😂. I do know that it's an old Mac and it still works!
Love the changes you made to this cocktail! Too bad you couldn't have the beer pulls for the controllers. Also love the "Reserved" tent. Well done!
Thank you! Yeah I tried like hell to see if I can make it work but no go unfortunately 😪.
The beer pull tabs instead of the joysticks . ADD so much to that game...
I know it! I really wish I could have incorporated them. But due to the limited size of the panels I was SOL. Major bummer for sure.
Awesome👍 Always play that at my one local spot. Not any good but still fun 😅
Not any good yet either but If we keep practicing we'll get there 😂. The tapper at your local spot is at a upright or a table?
@@kazelasarcade It's an upright.
Diggin it! Looking into one of these for the home arcade one day. Cheers! 🍻 Are the game(s) easy to add to the board?
The bit kit 2 gives you a couple of options to load games. You can do Bluetooth or you can do it over Wi-Fi. It is amazingly easy to load the games on there. It is such an amazing board that the developer is always constantly adding support for it.
@kazelasarcade Sound great! I appreciate the info. Definitely looking into a board or two. Huge thanks!
Where are you located. Id love to bring a few of my arcade pro tested and create and run and host can A.C.E.S. ARCADE events for you.
Hi, located in Michigan north of Detroit.
We:ve had so much left to sing.
Finished one of these last year. Thinking of doing another.
It's a great game! Definitely one of my favorites. Did you sell the first one or you just wanting a second one for a friend or something?
🤔👍nice
Thank you! 👊
I wa legit just thinking to myself “how cool would it be to have a pay phone set up in my place as a land line?” And sure enough, boom. TH-cam video. 😂
I love when new people come over and they don't expect it to work but sure enough it's fully operational 😂. The best part is when there's an incoming call and the phone rings and no one expects it.
Hi, I'm restoring the same arcade cabinet and need to replace the bottom fuse... how many amps is it? thanks
This is my favourite arcade home tour yet. Awesome collection and beautifully presented. Loving your taste and choice of cabs.
Thank you that's a wonderful to hear! I love when people appreciate a decent setup. I'm glad you enjoyed!
A lot of different Stern games came in that same cab. Any signs of what the original paint color was? That could be a clue.
I might go there next weekend. Hopefully I can find some original paint
