I enjoyed that, I think a couple of those QR stainless steel rail motors at the very start of the video found their way to Zig Zag Railway near Lithgow NSW? Great scenery and the time when steam engines were on the way out, excellent work, thank you and to Ken Anderson.

Please..basahin naman po sana yung title ng husto. Hindi po sinabi sa title na 1950's era. Ang title po ay "1970's Mainly Manila, 50 years ago, which is correct. We are in the 2020's, so..50 years ago from 1970's.Substraction lang po. At basahin din po sana yung explanation or definition nung video.

We went there in the 1980's. Back when people enjoyed even the simple things like Merry-go-rounds ... My friends used to Drive the steam engines years ago as well.

The real Manila is gone. Died in 1945 during its liberation from Japanese forces. History and heritage lost. Its modern now yes but it has lost its soul. Centuries of Spanish colonization, modern development under American occupation, gone.

Miss my growing years of the 60s and 70s in the Philippines. Left in 1983 and visited in 2006. Everything has changed. Wala ng lahat kakilala ko, and I realized then, I don't belong anymore. Everything in this video was how I remembered everything from my youth.

Isn't it interesting that up to the 1960s you could travel from Brisbane-South Brisbane to Southport by train, but when they opened the new line it only goes to Varsity Lakes, no wonder the train to the Gold Coast are not popular with anyone.

I would have been 9 when I saw this movie at Mr Way's house. This and his park map gave me an incurable love of all things Disney. Have not made it to the ORIGINAL as yet, but had been to Florida and Tokyo Disney's - both as an adult - and had a BALL. Nothing on earth can compare to the boat breaking down in "It's A Small World" for an hour, but NOT the music ;) Thank you Mr Way.

Most of this video (from 2:22) is WA bauxite operations at the Jarrahdale mine and Kwinana alumina refinery. The XC class bauxite hoppers were built by WAGR's Midland Workshops, not Comeng, and remain in service today.

I was there in 81 or 82 and actually did some work for the Holiday Inn that was shown and also one called the Holiday Inn South. In resent years when visiting Vegas I have tried to figure out where that HI South was located. It was just a run of the mill HI nothing special. Back then the airport was of course much smaller and it seemed to be quite a bit south of the strip.

Film starts at Townsville. 1:21 is the "Inlander" departing Townsville for Mt Isa. 2:03 is Nelia, about 60km east of Julia Ck, and the Nelia Pub. 2:14 is Julia Creek with the Julia Ck hotel and the coal stage. 2:50 to 8:45 is the new Cloncurry railway station (under construction) and desiel sheds and yard which opened in 1966. 8:46 is Rockhampton. The "Midlander" (Rockhamton to Winton) is being readied for departure. 9:20 to 12:05 with the DH loco is Gympie. 12:06 to 13:25 is Cairns and the "Sunlander" (Cairns to Brisbane). 13:28 ? 15:01 is Yarwun (between Gladstone and Rockhampton) 16:30 is coming into Rockhampton 17:10 is Denison St Rockhampton train travelling north past Archer Park station, crossing Fitzroy River then Parkhurst station at end of film. This train was probably a second division Sunlander where they used non airconditioned coaches in busy holiday periods. Great film with lots of memories there.😀

Great video, thanks for this! The quality of the video is great! This is the perfect stage of development for Disneyland. The new Tomorrowland was up and running, the old rides like Mine Train were still there, New Orleans Square was open, and the monorail was amazing and went to the hotel. I remember staying at the Disneyland Hotel in the mid-80's. It was set up so nice for the hotel guests. There were the original 2-story rooms built right next to the monorail station. then called The Garden Villas, with huge picture windows, great A/C and no food lol. 100 dollars a night! You could be inside the park in seconds. It's all been destroyed by the rapacious new owners; and is sad to see this park as strange as it is now.
