TROPIC THUNDER - A Cigar Bar Tiki Original

Tiki drinks are a lot of fun, and admittedly, I fell a little back in love with them on a recent trip to Disneyland. A tiki bar like Trader Sam’s is a ton of fun and really transports you to another place. THE WISCONSIN OLD FASHIONED

I LOVE Old Fashioneds, but admittedly became quite the snob for the “proper” way to make them aka the crafty, quiet, simple Old Fashioned that we know and love. The age and blend/roll of the leaf, very rarely dictate the price/quality fight. High-quality cigar smoking shouldn't be only left to the "elite". had this one two days ago recommended to me when I was at the shop. I definitely didn’t pick up on some of the fruity notes you got. It was extremely creamy to me reminded me of hot chocolate. It was also extremely easy to pull witch made it a very relaxing cigar for me. Toward the end I was almost asleep in the lounge. Personally for me a little out my typical price range.

This is a great breakdown of old fashions, what to interpret when someone orders one, and how to understand the drink! As a bartender, when asked for "an old fashioned" I typically make a wisconsin unless I am asked about my bourbons beforehand or could otherwise tell the drinker would expect a bourbon. Ive never incorporated that fevertree grapefruit soda before, but after seeing it I am jealous that I never thought to combine those flavors.

It was even rare, in my experience, to find a bartender who knew how to make a Negroni. At home, I always double the bourbon. I love your riff by topping it off with club soda in a collins glass. I actually love a coffee mug for whiskey. And beer!

I like the different opinions. This is subjective to a degree. It depends on what is important to you.

Nice quality of the video here. Well done. An honest viewpoint makes it fun aswell. I prefer the Glencairn glass due to sturdiness. It can be dropped and will not shatter so fast.

You’re very right about that. It’s certainly more sturdy and a fantastic glass. Had a good time comparing these - thanks so much for watching!!!

Hey I just want to say that if you want a great Whiskey for a cigar combo I would recommend AM Scoot Single Barrel. It doesn’t have much of an online presence and it’s ohio local but it has to be one of the greatest whiskeys that I have ever tried, it is absolutely delicious!!!

Great pairing video. Would be amazing if you did a barrel aged stout version as well!
