Until I watched Ash desperately picking up Eiji's letter, I hadn't known how much Ash was occupied with Eiji. It struck me. The face of Ash gathering Eiji's scattered letter made me cry. Still now on.

Without a doubt, the OST song ‘Aslan’ triggers tears for most banana fish fans. I’ve seen a few commentaries on this song, however, I haven’t seen someone mention the oboe, so I thought I would share its symbolism and what I think it represents in this song: The intro starts with a lonely-sounding and melancholic guitar, however, the guitar typically represents contentment and the ability for self-expression which are two things Ash lacks aside from his time with Eiji. On the other hand, the oboe represents a ‘duck’ or a ‘bird’, which in this case represents Eiji due to his ability to fly away from his problems. In this song, it’s clear to hear how the guitar longs for the oboe, similar to how Ash longs for Eiji’s ability to leave his problems unlike himself. Another important thing to note is that the oboe is mainly used in classical music, seldom in other genres such as jazz or pop. Whereas the guitar is an extremely diverse instrument used in almost all genres worldwide but appears rarely in classical music. Notably, the guitar and oboe are rarely used together since they belong to worlds of very different genres, but despite this, they sound beautiful together in this uncommon occurrence. This exemplifies how Ash and Eiji belong to different worlds but the time they spend together is beautiful. Under normal circumstances, they would’ve never met and the instruments would've never played together, you would’ve never guessed that the oboe and guitar or Eiji and Ash would’ve created something so unforgettable.

This anime have the saddest story that I ever saw and it’s so realistic it’s painful OMG. The life of Ash was so tragic to lose your body, family, friends and even freedom. To be captive ,trafficking also forcing to kill and above all of this when you finally find someone that makes you feel like a person and love’s you truly you prefer to die because ( I think ash thought) he can’t believe that he deserve good things also he’s tariffing of harming aiji this is a tragic and painful story, it’s traumatic and hunting anime.

This soundtrack speaks to my soul...it makes the wound banana fish left hurt beautifully, it's like the wound is open and this soundtrack sprinkles salt on it to remind me that the wound will probably never heal and remain as fresh as ever.. but even so, I am glad I got to see this absolutely beautiful masterpiece
