Weston; A Song - A Dandy's History Detectives Learning Extra
มุมมอง 21ปีที่แล้ว
Before songs were released globally, local music and regional tunes were a lot more commonplace. Musicians would compose music with lyrics that would mean something special to local residents about the place where they lived. This song 'Weston' was composed in 1926 by Fred C Brooks and mentions The Burgess Band (perhaps who it was intended to be performed by?). The lyrics in this song are very ...

Photos how disappointing, whatever happened to props from the Doctor Who exhibition at Red Dragon Centre, Cardiff Bay??
This isn't a BBC exhibition so we don't have access to BBC exhibition props and this is an art exhibition.

How can we hear what you are saying…no need for music !
Hi Christine, thanks for your comment. We made lots of our videos during lockdown from home and it was a big learning curve as it was very new for some of the team :) The videos all have closed captions which can be switched on, so that might help with any audio that isn't clear. We will adjust the balance of voice and music if we make any more in the future. Thanks
A marvellous history of your way of life.
What a very dapper chap.
Lovely story my mush

Amazing
this helped my with my home work 😀
This was amazing! Horem Kenesi gets reborn every time people watch this video, which is pretty cool.
ALL of the mummies, artifacts, and other ancient culturally and historically significant objects that have been STOLEN from Egypt, and anywhere else, should be catalogued, boxed up, and shipped BACK from their current locations, in The Bristol Museum and elsewhere, and returned to their place of origin like, IMMEDIATELY. The "Western World," America, Australia, Canada, Europe and the UK, in particular, have been literally STEALING these priceless artifacts from every corner of the ancient World and displaying them at Museums and Universities scattered throughout the globe ever since Egypt was under British Colonial rule, and their return to their rightful homes should now be priority ONE. Cairo has a perfectly suitable Museum of their own, and another larger and more modern one under construction as we speak, especially with the availability the vast majority of the world's population has to the internet nowadays, there is NO REASON WHATSOEVER that Egypt shouldn't be able to curate and display their OWN priceless culturally historic artifacts. It should go without saying and should have happened LONG ago, already. Full stop.

Absolutely lovely, thank you.
This is lovely!!
Such a shame to cut all those beautiful trees down. The hill fort is just piles of rocks now, how exactly are the trees damaging it? Why cut down so many? Even ones nowhere near the piles of rocks. Surely archeologists work around the trees? I would recommend having a look at the amount of trees proposed to be cut down, you will be shocked.
The tree roots damage/destroy the archaeological evidence. You are looking at an ancient British culture prior to the Romans. Those remains are crucial to our ancestors civilization before Roman invasion, and are irreplaceable. Yes the trees are beautiful, but trees can be planted elsewhere, our heritage cannot. It’s also important to note how relatively recently those trees were planted on the whim of gentry for game.
There's still miles of woodland there, it's important to preserve the archeological site though.
Excellent, Cat. You're brilliant. The filming, too.
