In the novelization, Michael was taken to and from the courts by Dr. Loomis, and Michael learned how to drive by watching him. In the movies, someone did teach him how to drive... there was a secret acomplice that helped Michael escape that you won't find out about for like 5 more movies in the original timeline!

movie makers of today that just *have* to make movies with strong female leads need to study this film to learn how to make good movies as opposed to the crap they've been churning out. sarah connor, ripley (alien), jordan o'neill (gi jane) or even nancy (nightmare on elm street) are just a few examples of strong female characters done right.

While the cat's official purpose was to control rodents aboard the ship, he also served as a source of relaxation and entertainment for the crew like a theory animal. So, this was the reason why a cat was brought into outer space. Yeah, see the difference between them and me I'll pass up my paycheck I'll go get a new job I'm not putting my life at risk for exploring an unknown world and secondly as soon as I saw that face hugger on that guy's face, I would have been gone I would have stolen the shuttle and left with a cat. There are 3 movies from the original series and a 3 season t.v show that are all connected and 2 movies that are their own stand alone. each movie gets less horror and more funny as they go. ED2 was basically ablel to get made because Stephen King gave a positive review and told the production company that they should produce it.

Later, if you want to experience something unique, watch the movie "The Thing", (1982), . And another unique movie from the 1980's called "Quest for fire" (1981), .

One of my all time favorites and a very influential and ground breaking film. Some of my favorite horror films are low budget ones like this. Other low budget favorites are the 70's Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes, I Spit on Your Grave and Dawn of the Dead.

Your dimples in the thumbnail made me think of Rosie Perez so I clicked on it. One of the all time greats kicking off the modern horror sci-fi and the sequel Aliens one of the best action sci-fi.

I would disagree that they should have shown the alien more. That would likely produce a very different film and as a result may well not have been as effective in what it was intended to do. Having said that Alien 2 is a different film from this one in many ways. A film which I think most people in the comments section will highly recommend.

But the answer was given in your own edit of this video when Ripley was communicating with the computer. For military weapons research. You must have blinked and missed it. That was the real mission of the Nostromo and the entire purpose of Ash being there.

You wondered why they have an android instead of a person working for the corporation ship. You could consider the contentious issue of AI technology being used right now in the real world and the debates that has brought about regarding all sorts of industries. Also consider that if the crew is expendable there would be an advantage having an android working for them because an android would likely not have any emotional or moral qualms if it came down to getting rid of other crew members.
