    I just wish John Deere would come standard with the third function. Spend all that money on a tractor and then I gotta spend another chunk of money to get the capability to run a grapple.

    Honestly, these tractors are small. You could put an10ft bucket on the front but it’s not an advantage. Rather have smaller bucket because you can over extend a subcompact quick. Also I don’t pull my subcompact out of the garage without throttling it up. Why would you ever start working at idle totally not realistic.

    Owner of a BX2380 purchased new in 2022 with 150hrs seat time. Priced out the 1025r and at that time it worked out to nearly a $10,000 price difference (Canadian dollars). Went orange and I have been extremely satisfied. No argument that the lifting capability is less than the JD. That said it’s all about learning how to operate the tractor not solely relying on just the front end loader per say. Understanding when to back up while lifting and tilting, timing movements of the tractor itself while operating the loader, bucket placement into the material pile, all makes a huge difference. Not sure if this is making sense but really understanding your specific tractor, its capabilities and using all mechanical advantages you can really make the BX sing. Definitely no regrets having gone orange.

    It would be nice if the Kubota bucket was flat on the ground and not on an angle trying to dig into the ground when going into the crush stone pile. I never have problems with my bucket, getting full in a pile of stone, dirt, or mulch.

    Great comparison. I noticed the Ausra sticker on the Kubota. Whereabouts in SW Michigan are you? I’m in Decatur. I have used both tractors and now own the 1025r. In my opinion, it’s no comparison. The only thing that was hard for me to justify is the price since I was getting quoted consistently about $4000 more for the Deere, so I bought used. The 3 point position lever was a huge plus too. Keep tractoring.

    I've used both. The 1025r is a larger and more powerful tractor. If Kubota is telling anyone they are substantially the same that is dishonest. The BX is a fine machine & certainly has it's place but it can't go head to head with a 1025r as you demonstrate.

  • @schoocg

    I thought your loader comparison was very fair. Always difficult unless you are on a test stand hahah, to make it perfect, but when there is that much disparity between them, small differences don’t matter. There really is a big difference between these two machines and I have owned both of them. Hands down the Deere way outperforms the equivalent Kubota, in this class, in all respects and I love Kubotas. Nope my underwear is not green. I have had 4 Kubota’s , 2 New Holland’s and now a year 2020 1025R. I always refused to go to the green side. Till I test drove one and the dealer and they had a test area to put it through its paces. Have to say I have never had any major issues with any of the Kubotas, New Hollands or John Deere. But the 1025R punches so far above its weight class :-).

    While for years and years the 10 series and the BX have been labeled sub-compact. Therefore they understandably get compared to each other. However, the 10 series is closer in size to Kubota's B2501 series more so than the BX. The B 01 series is also a sub- compact. The B2650 (now the LX10 series) is the beginning of the "compact" size just like the Deere 2 series. You should do a head to head with the Kubota B 01 series. That would be a closer match up.

    On kubota tractor, the bucket does NOT look level… looks like you go halfway into the load then hit the ground. 🙄 Hard to move the earth with only 24hp! As soon as you level out, then the bucket goes through the gravel.

    “This valve won’t provide relief to the tractor” - that sentence doesn’t make any sense. No 3rd function valve provides relief. The relief valve on the loader does that. lol

    I've been looking at these two tractors as well as others for several months now. I've watched many videos on multiple tractors, and I can say with some confidence that the JD is a little better with lift capacities. Possibly by a few hundred pounds. This is significate if you need that extra capacity. That being said, in other areas it appears that the tractors are very similar (with the exception of hp). I do think the Kubota's loader is much more capable than what is shown here. I know that the bucket level indicator on the Kubota is not as good as JD so it's harder to see when its level. But, on a few occasions while driving into the pile I could see that the loader was digging into the subsoil under the gravel making it much more difficult to scoop the gravel. You can even see the front of the Kubota coming off the ground when driving into the pile. In contrast, the JD was level (and even the bucket was tilted slightly up) before driving into the pile. On the one or two occasions when attempting to dig down the JD did do it but it definitely struggled more. Honestly, after everything I've watched I do think the JD is a little stronger and I would look to get it but, there is several thousand in price difference. I've been quoted from my local JD dealer for a 1023e with a belly more and loader at $25300. I'm sure the 1025r will be even more than that. The Kubota I've been quoted for with the same config at $22000. For my needs and because I have a smaller property these tractors will be working I will most like go the cheaper route to save thousands. If the JD was comparable in price, I would definitely go for it.

    so some of the lifting capacity is greater on the John Deere but at that it puts limits on front axle and over all handling we change the orifices' on hydraulics on Kubota and we has huge increase in lift. Kubota playing it safe I did comparisons and in a sub compact tractor the Kubota fits places the John Deere does not also the over all frame is stronger on the Kubota. John Deere 1025R while performs well is built on a thread of failing early Owned both. John Deere dealer in our area was greedy on pricing In South western Ontario Kubota is really moving forward. some country roads farms are all showing the orange colour on small tractors.

    I don’t have a dog in this fight however it looks like to me when you’re going into the pile with the Deere you go a short distance then curl your bucket some when you are not with the Kubota. You keep the Kubota flat the whole time. Not that it matters but it doesn’t look like a fair comparison. Even still it appears the Deere will raise the loader full where the Kubota will not. It seems to me the Deere is a better Tractor but just my opinion.

    As a new BX owner, I can confirm your experience... one main difference between the tractors is the BX has a Skid Loader arm, which is one reason the capacity is different. The arm design is for adding forks and other accessories, but it sacrifices loader capacity. If you had a BX without this feature, you might see a different experience.

    • @EverythingGreenTractors
      @EverythingGreenTractors 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The skid loader carrier is one of the 2 options the BX has for the loader option. You are correct the skid loader is heaver than their pin on options and because of it the loader lifts less. I belive they have a second option for the bucket that they list the lift capacity in their owners manual and it is still less than the Deere. The bigger issue is, with both buckets, the Kubota struggles to fill the bucket full which the Deere can do at idle. i appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching. Sorry for the delay on the reply!

      I have a Kubota BX2680. I traded in my 23 year old BX 2200 because I have not had one problem in 23 years with it. The BX is smaller than the 1025R. The 1025R is more closely related to the next size up Kubota Tractor. I noticed that when you were using the loader with the BX, your loader was not flat with the ground, and you didn’t drive into the pile of stone. (there is a bucket leveling rod, which is an $80 option on the Kubota BX which I have )You seemed to have driven into the pile of stone with the John Deere. With the Kubota, you kind of drove up to the pile, stopped, then tried to push your way in. That’s not how you use a loader. I’m not saying one tractor is better than the other,but the John Deere tractor is a little bit bigger, and does have some good points like the twin touch pedals which I like better than the rocker pedal of my Kubota, but my Kubota is bulletproof. I also like the smaller size of the Kubota. My property is only a little bit over an acre. I don’t need a bigger tractor. The Kubota does what I need it to do.

    I dont know how long the pile set there but to the extent that the pile was compacted due to weight of materials on top or rain settling etc, the 2nd tractor would always have an easier time with a freshly fluffed area of the pile previously dug by the first tractor. I originally thought the pile was big enough that you were going to do one side with each tractor but that didnt happen.

      Hi James. I'm sorry I have been on very busy selling tractors here the past few months and have been trying to get caught back up. While I sell John Deere tractors, I do not work for John Deere. Deere most recently has released a statement regarding their focus on their brand. I encourage you to go to their website to read this recent press release regarding social media concerns that have been raised. Thanks for watching and for reaching out! Sorry for the delay.

      Hi Bill Gates, I am working with a friend of mine to get a comparison video going soon! From what I know already, lifting capacity is similar, and the Kioti has better drive than the Kubota, but it still has a smaller bucket, and it does not have the drive over mower deck, or the integrated quick park loader. If you have a Kioti please make a video and share. By the way, I use Windows at work, but all my videos are made with my Iphone and Mac Pro! Thanks for watching!

    At 1:40”, yo have the Kubota digging down into mud while the deer’s bucket was sliding on the gravel filling up and curling back. So no fair comparison to start with. Moreover, compare the BX 23S to JD 2023e. Come on !!!

    • @EverythingGreenTractors
      @EverythingGreenTractors 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching! So I actually explained that during the video, and make a whole 2nd day of filming. The level indicator on the Kubota makes it hard to see if the bucket is level. The Deere has a better level indicator that makes if very easy to see. I actually made a videl with the Deere 1023E (23 hp) verses the Kubota 2680 (25hp). Unfortunately the Kubota still struggles to get a full load with it smaller bucket and the Deere still lifted out a full bucket at idle. I appreciate the feedback! Thanks for watching!

    At the 2:45 mark in the video I noticed when you push into the pill you curl the bucket back on the JD but on the Kubota you try to lift the loader and not curl back. I think the angle of the buckets going into the pile are different? I think most folks like a brand and at the end of the day are fortunate to have what they have....both great Sub-Compact tractors

    • @EverythingGreenTractors
      @EverythingGreenTractors 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Joseph, thanks for responding! In actuality I use the same techniques for both. The Kubota touts being able to lift and curl at the same time, and it cannot do it. I tried several times. As explained in the other 2 videos on the comparison series I had to alternate lift and curl and in most cases back out of the pile to lift the load. If you own a Kubota try to drive into the pile and replicate what the Deere can do at idle. If you don't own a Kubota and are in the market for a new tractor go try both. The bigger issue is that Kubota sales people were telling people they perform the same, and they do not. I appreciate your comments, thanks for sharing!

    I got a backhoe with my 1025r also. It’s been great for digging. Theres always a digging job around the corner and great about owning the backhoe I could use it whenever I want. Backhoe does great as rear ballast for loader work, does better than ballast box I got. Don’t even use the ballast box it’s only used now storing chains in the shed.

      Sorry it took me so long to reply, but thank you so much! I agree with you, I was just mowing my yard today with the backhoe and the loader on the tractor and it is perfectly balanced. Thanks so much for purchasing the Deere!

    You need to fine tune any tractor you get…. They do intentionally so you spend more money…. Look into the hydraulics… most of your tractors have to much going to the steering get a controllable hydraulics valve… ok just watch tractor time with Tim …… you’ll find out everything you need or very close to it…..

    • @EverythingGreenTractors
      @EverythingGreenTractors 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Ed, thanks for responding sorry it took me a while to get back to you, My tractor is stock, I don't recommend "fine tuning" your tractor as that could lead to voiding a warranty. I watch Tractor Time with Tim and I love his channel, I am a subscriber, but Tim is selling product and sometimes his fine tuning leads to a broken tractor part. I really recommend sitting down with a sales person and listing the jobs you will do so that you have the correct tractor with the proper capabilites without fine tuning. Thank you so much!

      Thank you for the advice … but companies make the tractors to be adjustable they make everything to the basics so that you spend more to up grade… subject change to prove my point… snowmobiles… when they built the fire cat …. The first ones didn’t come with electric start or reverse.. why … it’s so you up grade to the next yr when they add the electric start and reverse… but the first sleds could have it all added… up grades… you can also make your tractors have more horsepower just by turning up the fuel mixture screw… you 25 hp now becomes a 30 hp without the emissions bs with diesel… there is lots of ways to upgrade things without breaking them… the upgraded parts are made for a reason …

      @@EdZirul Thanks Ed. My point is my tractor performs as is without any adjustments. If you purchase a tractor that you have to adjust to get it to perform to the level of a stock competitor tractor it only makes sense then you can adjust the competitor tractor and it will still outperform the tractor you purchased. Having dealt with customers who are trading in competitive tractors I have heard stories of denied warranties over much more trivial matters. My suggestion is purchase the tractor that gets the job you want done with the stock specs in place. After the warranty is up do whatever you want to it. Thanks for watching!

    • @EdZirul
      @EdZirul 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EverythingGreenTractors that’s not the point I’m making … the point I’m making is that all tractors can do better than what the factory specs… are and they do that so you spend money to up grade…. It’s not about what tractor is better … cause some of cheaper tractors out preform John Deere stock… the point is you can make your tractor do what it should and have the power it should… not the dumbed down version that comes from the factory….

    • @EdZirul
      @EdZirul 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EverythingGreenTractors and by the way … your tractor probably has 3 pounds of hydraulic pressure going to the steering … not needed…. That is robbing the rest of the hydraulic system…. Basically your lifting can be better.. running the 3 point could be better…. No one is trying to destroy their tractors… but they are trying to get the best performance out of them that the factories rob you of…. Just to steal more money from you on upgrades…
