Handy by Necessity
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 25 ธ.ค. 2021
I grew up so far back in the sticks that we had to pipe in sunshine and we were poor to boot. As a result, we were very self sufficient. I remember, as a child, repairing broken toy cars and trucks to play with. In fact, we never hired anyone to do any repairs, maintenance, or upgrades around the place. My dad could fix anything and he always had me there helping him. I didn't realize, at the time, it would often have been easier for him to just do it himself but he was teaching me. Now it is my turn to pass on some of the folksy wisdom, common sense solutions, and general repair and maintenance tips that I have learned by necessity.

Can't amateurs just use wood glue and nails? Because everyone doesn't have all these nifty tools (nor money for a new sofa). Also, is it necessary to cut the new piece of wood into a triangular shape? As long as it fits in the space and the hole for the t-nut can be put in the right spot?
The triangle makes it easier to attach with screws. Screws will hold much better than nails
This is exactly what happened to one of my sofa legs, the movers broke it trying to fit the sofa in a narrow doorway, instead of just twisting the legs off, then hid the damage 😂😬
Should of used wood glue as well. 😊
Any updates on the fire truck?
Thanks for the question. I am terrible at posting. I have some footage that I need to edit and upload. I got as far as I could before the summer heat shut me down.
It looks almost like a repurchased schoolbus.
It was custom buit for Loyalsock, PA FD. I have the original build documents from the Mack Museum
SOS pads and water will do wonders on the chrome.

Turn both batteries on, then both ignition and the press both start buttons at the same time.
That is what I do now that both battery circuits are connected. Thanks
The truck originally came from Loyalsock Fire Co. Williamsport PA. I have some pictures of the truck and information about it.
