Hi just wondering what kayak are you using as im looking to buy one
I’m using the Hobie Pro Angler 14! It’s a great stable kayak with plenty of storage. Contact James from Hunter Water Sports for a great deal and great knowledge on a wide range of kayaks.
@TheFinesseAngler thanks
Gday ol mate , Dave from Parra once again . Just stumbled on yhis clip , and watched it . Very well done old son . 👍✔👏👏👏🎣
Thanks for watching Dave!
Good man, picking up other people's rubbish.
Should be the standard 💯
@ I agree.
Which size do you think is the best?
What species are you targeting? If it’s bream, then definitely the 2.35
@ I am targeting some flathead.
3 inch is a good all rounder and the 5 inch would be great for the big girls
Better late than ever, look forward to the vid
💪
is it legal on Sydney to fish inside the pier between the boats?
Depends on the area. Some have signs saying no fishing and others have no signs but might get annoyed.
These lures are amazing. I caught a 33cm bream first cast on the risky critter
Location plz
Middle hbr
Is that a squid straight down at 3:14?
Don’t think so. I can see what you’re talking about though 😅
Sick video bro scary casting around $25 lures in that type of country though 😂
Definitely worth the risk man 😂. Thanks for watching champion
have you seen the wharfs around darling harbour bro? you wouldn't believe the size and amount of huge bream hanging around the pilons. unbelievable. i was waiting for my wife n kids to finish and I was watching all the gigantic bream swim around there -better on rainy days
I’ve definitely seen them. Used to spend our younger days eating kebabs on the wharves and throwing in half of our hot chips to feed the bream. Some absolute monsters there!
Nice video mate, that ziptie hook holder above the reelseat that youve put together is something ive never seen but isnt a bad idea. Keep the crab vids coming!
Comes in handy when there’s no place to put your hooks 👌. Will definitely do some more fishing with the crab when I get back to Sydney. Thanks for watching mate.
For sure, can’t wait for more vids
I don't think you need the expensive ones, but if you're walking over wet/weedy rocks, you should get a cheap pair of rock spikes to slip over your crocs. Even wearing one on one foot makes a huge grip difference.
Great idea! This was a spontaneous session and didn’t expect to hit the rocks but will definitely look into some spikes 👌
Where about sin Sydney is the spot?
Middle hbr
@ thanks bro
Why on earth do Australian anglers who are right handed switch hands after the cast. The beauty of a spinning reel is that you can cast with your right hand, reel with your left, and then use your power arm to set the hook and fight the fish. If your left handed, you can do the opposite. Even bait-casters now come with left handed retrieves, although I don't own one yet. Just curious...
It’s just something I have gotten used to since I was young. A lot of Australians are making the switch to left hand which I will probably do myself in the near future. I’m just currently doing what I’m comfortable with till I master the technique of light sports fishing.
@@TheFinesseAngler I get it. I'm the same way with the bait caster. There were no left hand retrieve reels available when I first learned to use a bait casting reel, so I just use my right handed ones when I do fish with one. I don't fish for big bass any more as a rule because there just aren't that any where I fish. I actually started on a spinning reel with the handle on the left side. I fish mostly ultra lite now because of the size of fish that live in the ponds where I am able to fish. So much fun to catch fish on 2.3 lb. test with a Super Ultra Lite rod and a 2000 size spinning reel. Thanks for getting back to me. Stay safe and have a blessed Holiday season.
Got to love ultra light fishing! I’m guessing you’re from the states? I really hope you have a happy and safe holiday
@@TheFinesseAngler Yes sir. Should have mentioned that.
Awsome! I’m currently in LA on a family trip. Been here for a couple days and loving it so far. Have a LM trip organised in San Diego in a couple of weeks, looking forward to it!
Looks like California
No rivers here 🤣
Try the stretch between jubilee park and fish markets it’s about 3ks or so and u can fish plastics and surfaces and there are some super spooky 50+cm bream there
Have done that stretch on the kayak before! Got to love Pyrmont, some good fishing there 👌
Great vid mate surely that walk would almost hurt more than the yak ?😂.
Will have to definitely test it out when I get back from holidays. Just worried that if my back locks up while on the yak, will be hard to get back to shore and load the kayak up.
Smasher of a video ABZ❤
Really appreciate it mate ❤️
Use an Albright knot mate . Always snaps at the hook . Uni knots are not for me old mate , even at the hook ! ✔👍🎣
I’m usually an FG man but will definitely have to learn a few more knots for situations like this. Will come in handy 👌
What a legend ❤
❤️❤️
out of curiosity, how does someone look for a fishing spot anyway? the spots surrounding me are packed
I open up maps and find a few spots that look likely, will then pick out a few spots and see what sort of grounds they and if they’re accessible. I’ll always have a plan A, B & C just in case the first couple spots are packed out.
@@TheFinesseAngler thanks
Holy $100 day 😮
Glad it doesn’t happen often 😅
daiwa claim they have a craka crab rod but how when the taper is fast its no good for cranka even cranka crabs website says meduim to meduim fast taper
I’ve never used the crab rod from Daiwa however I do use the 732 and the 722 that are both fast tapered however they aren’t completely stiff which helps with using a crab.
Lure companys love people like us. Throwin our plastics in any spots of water trying our luck instead we lose the lure 😂
Risk takers 😂
why now switch to grubz or prawn?
I probably should have, I just knew the crabs would definitely get the bite in a spot like this.
G'day ol mate . Dave from Parra here once more . Just saw the notification now I'm on ot old son . ✔👍🎣
Good to see you here again Dave! Hope you enjoyed the video
Good work Abz, hope your back gets better soon mate!
Thanks Adam! The come back on the kayak is going to be sick 🔥
Another awesome 👌 video MASHALLA ABZ and excellent fishing 🎣 spot go CRANKA CRAB 🦀 did you use sent lol
Thanks Mush! Didn’t use scent this trip, the rain held me back from doing many things this day
@TheFinesseAngler bloody 🌧 rain bro makes things hard awesome 👌 video and area to fish 🐟 i think crab 🦀 scent pro cure works mad inshallah next adventure you will get that big bream
Looks like an expensive trip with the lost lures
I’m a bit of a risk taker 😅
It looks mint, but you are keen throwing crabs with no way of unsnagging it with a rod tip of opposite pull. I reckon some rich people will be putting up some more barriers to stop you next time. Lets hope a Karen video makes you 10 million views!!😅
If it wasn’t for my back I’d be jumping in and swimming to get my crabs back 😂. When the barriers are up I’ll just bring the kayak! Bring on the Karen’s!!
Do you think this is the best land based spot we’ve found so far? Don’t forget to subscribe!
Mate i haven't but im gonna try it soon!
damn that hurt
Worst feeling!
😂
Nice work
Appreciate it mate!
great vid and very instructive...keep up the great work
Really appreciate it John! Thanks for watching
Do you think a sounder is necessary on kayak?
I spent my first few months on a kayak without a sounder and still caught a lot of fish. The sounder for me is more for depth so I can fish areas like drop offs. Definitely not necessary mate
Your face was brimming 🎣
where is this spot if you don't mind me asking
Middle hbr
Nice job. That area can be realky productive. I know blokes that fish around those areas from shore, and from kayak as well. The areas seem to do well early morning or late afternoon.
Thanks Dave! Looking forward to hopefully fishing it one day myself on the kayak and hopefully next time on a high tide. What sort of species do you usually catch from there?
