Nice truck! What year truck is the trans from? Also, sounds like it's not firing on all cylinders. Maybe firing order is off or rockers not adjusted correctly. Could be just a crazy cam

I had an 84 shorty with a 6” lift and 35” Mud TA’s . I had a 305 with a factory 4 speed standard and 3.73 gears . Because I had a shorter wheelbase,the ride was horrible. If I kept it ( like I should have) I was going to install a big block 454 . I wouldn’t even change the intake to aluminum,as I’d want as much weight as possible on the front end . Judy my 2 cents . Good luck with your upgrades , and don’t be dumb like me and sell your baby

Really nice trucks I have a 83 cab and chassis dually similar build they have a slightly thicker frame and extra cross member behind the cab normally used as flatbed/tow trucks mine was a fire truck 😎👍✌️

It's the exhaust stroke that sucks the intake charge in. A set of headers and 1.6 ratio rocker on the intake will wake it up a lot more.

Just found your channel. I also live in Wisconsin. I do have a 1987 K30 crew cab long box 4x4. Dana 60 front 14 bolt rear. Some rust. Half the cab fixed. Rust free doors and fenders. Box is in real nice shape. No motor or tranny. Lost interest. Looking for $6000

For 1980, round headlights were standard equipment. The square headlights were included in the V22 chrome grille option.

Q-jet?! Not used too often anymore but definitely a nice carb if calibrated correctly 🤙 Edit its funny how unforgiving brake fluid is as it's the only fluid that goes in your car the is water soluble. As long as you hit it fast it washes right off but left for a bit a the paint is ruined.
