I don't believe the elevation figure at the end. The fall from Prospect to Guildford was extremely close to level, I'd need to check but I believe it was something like 0.6m over a kilometre. Nothing like the 58m gain on your stats.

Nice video, thanks. The path over the bridge is cool. I live south of Adelaide and have been exploring Adelaide's bike tracks for commuting and leisure. Started doing some research on Sydney by bike. Would like to explore both Sydney and Melbourne by bike, such a cool way to get around. Sydney weather has been punishing lately though with the wind and rain, those east coasts low just keep coming.

tamamura is like 5 km long and 6 km wide its 25 square kilometer which you can cover with a bike so i recognize every single places you went

I started cycling 11 years ago and only just discovered this place, and I only live a couple km away. I'm using it all the time now with lockdown restrictions. It's way flatter than getting to olympic park. A lot of moms + kids here though when school isn't running.

How hilly is it on the way back?

I bought a huge rain cover instead to cover my entire bag so it wont be a pain to put in...hope it works. lol My question is how did you get it through the gates? Did you go through main or normal gate? and did anyone even notice or care?

Rode on this about 8-9 years ago when it was quite new, was about 25km into the ride when a brown snake jumped out of nowhere and scared the bejesus out of me! Was lucky not to crash, then got the 2nd scare of my life when i looked down and saw the f%cker still chasing me for about 200m!

I heard that the Usui Pass was operational until the Hokuriku Shinkansen was completed, and a semi-express train (Asama, formerly operated by the 183/189 series EMU, now the name is used by the W7 shinkansen) used to cross this line, and to get over the infamous 66.7% gradient, two EF63 helper engines would couple to the train and tow it. The helper engines would haul the Asama from Yokokawa Station to Karuizawa Station. I got this info from a group of Japanese railfans, and I decided to share some information with you.

How busy is it on the weekends? Is it more busy at Saturday or Sunday and what time. Also is there a danger of magpies at the cycleway?

Hi, thanks for the history lesson on the bay run. I will visit the bay run some day. I wonder what the closes train station is? I see those bikes dumped everywhere. Once i was walking through Alexandria and saw one up a tree. What's so good about those bikes that people keep buying them..? Is it an amazing ad campaign..? No.. So what's the catch ...a free xboxone or ps4. game console..ummm..no. Then what?

Good video Mike. I like that ride because it’s trouble free and interesting, unlike the M7 which is trouble-free but a bit tedious. You said that Guildford was the end of your ride. So you don’t go back to collect your car??😎

I’ve not done that ride but have many others in region. That looks like a nasty, scary route. Wonder what the best route would be.

I have a folding bike which would be smaller so I'm thinking about using a bivi bag but of course there's the possibility of getting oil off the bike inside the bag and on clothes when sleeping. However it's a good standby if taking a bivi bag anyway.
