Great video Tom, I've got an digitized version of the tape the organ on my computer.

Should the violins be tuned celeste? This organ sounds very keyless.

Well I am sure the organ has never sounded so good in 60 plus years. I can not remember those bass pipes under the organ case sounding as they now do, if they played at all. Well done to Frank & every one involved in the restoration. I am sure Tom Alberts & Tom Norman look down approvingly. I was wondering how much of the music is from previous owners, re cut or new.

"The King's Horses" is a Blache arrangement, "Pasadena" is James Tiller, "Folies Begere" was never on the organ when i used to operate it and i have never heard that arrangement before.

STUNNING Carl Frei Arrangement on a STUNNING Carl Frei Organ! This tune also made it's way to the Wurlitzer 150 scale thanks to Tom Meijer too.

The Thursford Marenghi has the same Chiappa selection of 3 tunes. Sadly, this copy is no longer with White's but it would be worth replacing.

My dad recorded three tracks of this organ before we went over to Ted Reeds marenghi.

7:22 is a march composed by English popular composer and organist John Neat. First published by the Lawrence Wright Music Publishers in 1914, with the strap line "Introducing the melodies our soldiers are marching to" - an early example of patriotic music from the 1WW when optimism ran high and it was believed the war would be over in months, and it would be "Christmas in Berlin" for British Expeditionary Forces. It references one or two familiar songs like Rule Britannia and Boys of the Old Brigade, plus the national anthems of all the Allied powers.

Definitely Andrew's best organ he built in my opinion, it was a real treat to finally hear it in person yesterday despite the miserable weather!

KM's marking of Overture to "The Merry Wives of Windsor" (Otto Nicholai) and his completion of the Marenghi-Gaudin "Mr Cinders Selection" (Vivian Ellis) are triumphs. 👏 If anyone discovers any bits of the Marenghi-Gaudin "Sunny" Selection a similar reconstruction would be possible. Love to hear it on White's and at AFOM. Amazing these 1920s shows are now reaching their centenaries!

Wonderful! I wonder if there are other pieces by Ivanovici that are played on organ? Carmen Sylva is particularly a favorite one of mine, but his pieces were lost to time and all of them, save for The Danube Waves have simply been lost in obscurity and it's quite rare to find new things.

Arthur Prinsen never really understood the 89 VB scale as everything sounds like an 87 key organ with clarinets and saxophones and no violins or baritones at all!
