Tired of all the tactical crap and Call of Duty range ninjas who insist on carrying around a mountain full of gear and 5 different ARs, nice to see someone appreciate the classics and choose practical minimalism. I’ve always wanted a Gunsite Scout, but they’re just so expensive.

You lost me Cliff. Searching for targets using your scope? I’ve had idiots looking at me through their rifle scope. I’ll continue using my scout rifle and scout scope as it’s worked quite well for me in the field. I don’t go to a square range or a class. Learned rifle craft from my father and shooting service rifle (before scopes were allowed)

I'd move the light to the open rail you have. Being on the barrel has to mess with your accuracy.

I have no practical reason for saying this but i cant stand scopes like that 😂 that being said why are they made like that? Is it able to sit lower? And it looks further from your normal cheek rest, wouldnt that mess with eye relief? Very new to some of this stuff so if i messed up some terminology you’ll just have to deal with it, im not fighting anyone in the comments anymore

Awesome review of the GSR. Did you ever resolve the issue you had with the safety locking up in cold weather? Also how about a comparison of the GSR and Sig Cross as scout/GP rifles. Your content is greatly appreciated.

Eventually I will get a ruger gunsite scout 308 and be happy rifle wise.

My modern version of a scout rifle is my Ruger American ranch rigle in 7.62x39. it will do 5 shot groups under an inch with good ammo like the sellier and bellot 125gr jsp and closer to .5 definitely sub .75 inch groups with Hornady black 123gr SST loads. I just stuck a cheap 3x9 weaver on it in a one piece cantilever mount. I have been hitting 10 for 10 on a 4 inch target at 200 yards and further. I soghted it in 3 inches high at 100 yards, which puts me dead on at 200 and about 5 to 6 inches low at 250 yards. But in Texas that is plenty and I can use tiger mini 30 mags and I put a strike industries comp on it. There's almost zero felt recoil from that rifle and the shift from cold bore to hot barrel is only about an inch, but the groups don't really open up so I'm happy. Even with the cheapest crappiest steel case ammo I'm between 1 to 2 moa. I have a good stock of tula 124gr jsp that I'm trying to use now so that's what ill hunt with. It's between 1 to 1.5 moa. I haven't hunted much with this round, nut ive seen it used out to 300 yards with great effect on deer and hogs so it'll work for me and I can find new wolf polyformance plinking fmj for sometimes under 10 dollars a box so I grab it when I find it!!! I have enjoyed watching Hooligan outdoors hunt with this rifle both the gen 1 and 2.

Im not crazy about mounting stuff directly to my barrel, and i usually hunt with a semi auto anyway, but i cant deny that its a cool build.

I've watched all of your videos-- good info (I bought the Hi-Lux based on your video). Have you ever looked at a suppressor for your GSR?

Its absolutely fine ro mount the flashlight onto the barrel in your specific configuration I'm working on a 1lb ar15 do not listen to the people saying your build is wrong

I have a Ruger American Ranch chambered in 6.5 Grendel. Not a true Scout Rifle, but my interpretation of one. It's rattled canned camo with a Leupold 2-7x light weight scope. Same Vickers sling as you. I also have a Yankee Hill R9 suppressor that direct threads to it to keep the overall weight and length down.
