Have Some Respect!
มุมมอง 6764 ปีที่แล้ว
Learning over the internet has given people a sense of entitlement to believe that they can learn what they want when they want make it their own and not need to show thanks or tribute to where they got it. This has created a lack of respect for elders of the arts that have dedicated life long study to martial arts study and the passing on of the culture and lineage of those arts. It does not d...

มุมมอง 1.7K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Obviously if you had a real Machete coming at you this drill is not something you would use to stop it. However, through the use of this drill I have seen practitioners movement and awareness grow tremendously. This is nothing more than a sensitivity drill to aid in enhancing your use of your perception and reaction to angles of attack. Don't mistake it for real fighting.

    The time of the hand is faster than the time of the foot. That said, I am seeing effective long range, big blade techniques and tactics. Good stuff.

    This is an absolute joke. For part 3 just let the pupil go full contract without being controlled if the instructor gets striped up everybody gets a refund and goes home.

    you had to remember some are susceptible to pain, some are not. and if your opponent can take your punch, better to start running.

    • @sgtjoe2008
      @sgtjoe2008 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      it is either you have the skill to commit and incapacitate your opponent right then and there within a few seconds or don't engage at all. remember these are just drills to practice and help you understand the basic concept.

    just wondering doesnt the draw style limit your mobility because your shifting your hips and feet away?

    • @gregbrown3082
      @gregbrown3082 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This draw style assumes a lot: -You're able to stand, and have room to maneuver -You're wearing the blade outside the waistband -T shirt tucked in The moral is: Whatever your chosen carry style, practice draw+application from as many positional variations as possible. Add some real world stress, and the draw slows down even more. If you can replicate your .6 second draw from concealment, in the winter, at night, hanging upside down... etc etc. - you're getting somewhere!
