    I actually like the afci/GFCI breakers. It's neat that they basically have their own plc and power supply built In. In a way it's like these breakers are computer controlled. Always monitoring. I have had a few false trips but I'd rather it trip falsely that tells me it's working and will work in an actual fault. Thanks for the video. Please do another video on these breakers and the internal workings of them.

    Great videos. The slide at 11:03, depicting Types M, L and K copper pipe, deviates from my experience. At least here in the South, Type M is marked in red, with Type L marked in blue. Type K is green, as represented here. I don’t know if this is a regional difference or a discrepancy in the exhibit.

    Thanks for presenting this rare knowledge on knob and tube safety. Many people will benefit from this. I assisted my grandfather 70 years ago to wire and perform repairs on houses and barns that had this wiring. We converted some to the then standard BX but now the insulation in BX junction boxes can crumble. The wire in the metal sheath remains viable. Economically, replacement could cost more than the value of some older houses. There is another fetish out there that replacing the fuse panel with a CB panel will improve safety. I am of the opinion that more harm can come from this than benefit because of at least the crumbling wire.

    Two wires = a hot line and a neutral or ground? Are you serious? Are you genuinely saying that the current for the circuit, outbound from the supply on the hot line is going to return on the ground conductor? Really?

    I noticed that you have good-quality videos but the videos are not getting views and subscribers are not increasing. SEO increases views, If you can increase the views, you will be able to advance your channel a lot. what is the benefit of making a video so hard? If views, likes, and subscribers are not? So I say, first organize the channel nicely, SEO the videos, and then release the videos, then you will get good results I found some problems with your channel. 1. SEO Score is very low 2. Tag SEO friendly and many problems on your TH-cam Channel.

    The homebuyer hour was very knowledgeable. They all discussed about VA loans, rentals, homes, constructions and reserves. However, Luminita enforced the importances of living below your means, expect problems during construction projects and pay in multiple draws to keep the contractors to come back, pay extra to the principal, the five benefits of owning properties, the brrrr method ( buy, rehab, rent, refi and repeat) and of course taking her Financial Freedom class.

    I doubt most buyers would pay 2.5% - 3%, needs to be a flat fee, or only offer a la carte services. I know I wouldn’t.

      www.ilga.gov/commission/jcar/admincode/041/041001750H08400R.html This is the code that says they cannot be left in place. This is for the ones that are actually in the earth.

    Awesome information as usual! In regards to orphan water heaters....I was just at a field event where an old boiler was removed from venting out the chimney, however the water heater was still venting out the chimney above the old vent location for the boiler. Is this something you automatically write up for further review or is there a way to know if the liner has been down sized appropriately since the boiler was removed?

    Great video! I was told AFCIs have to installed in Chicago if a certain percentage of the walls are opened up in the remodeling process, any truth to that?

    • @Thehomeinspectors
      @Thehomeinspectors 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      negative. The decision makers decided that our conduit systems in residential construction is some of the safest in the nation. The decided not to include AFCIs in any remodeling, or new construction. I cannot find any Chicago Electrical reference to AFCI's being needed.

  • @cliffsalisbury1113
    @cliffsalisbury1113 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    This was great! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! It sounds like you were alluding to some areas do not bond cold water, hot water, and gas lines. Although I have very limited experience, in my area (Central IL) I have not seen many bonded either including my own house. Does that mean in some areas you would not document it as a defect and recommend correction?

    • @Thehomeinspectors
      @Thehomeinspectors 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is correct. I would not document it as a defect if I saw, and I would not document it as a defect if I did not see it. There is nothing wrong with recommending that all the systems be bonded together.

    • @Thehomeinspectors
      @Thehomeinspectors 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is true. Not every code official enforces the bonding of water, gas, and conduit pipes. I personally think it is a great idea and it should be enforced.
