Dayne Headland, Chair of the ND Republican Party's District 29, led the meeting in Carrington to elect new officers for the year. The very beginning of the tape is missing where a party member, Nick Skrivanek, made a motion to remove a section of the committee rules which said that there could be no video or live-streaming of their meetings. People in the audience questioned why the committee would not want their meetings recorded and shown to the public. Headland said that he was out of order because there was already a motion on the floor to adopt the minutes of the last meeting as read, which had accepted the new rules that banned video-taping and live-streaming. He said that he would come back to the issue raised by the party member after the vote on the first motion - a statement which was confusing to the audience. The chairman confused everyone even more by stating that in order for the meeting to proceed, they had to vote on the motion to adopt the minutes... minutes which included the acceptance of the objectional rules. While everyone was trying to figure out what was going on, Headland called for a voice vote. The ayes were much louder than the nays so the motion was passed. Then, did Headland go back and ethically deal with the party member's motion? Just listen to that part of the tape and judge for yourself.
After this first fiasco, Headland introduced several District 29 officials, who delivered their reports to the audience: Terry Wanzec; Don Vegas; and Craig Headland.
As I watched what was going on at this meeting, how it was handled or mishandled, I decided to tape as much of it as possible and share it with District 29 folks so they can see how the meeting was conducted. Even though people may not agree with my observation of the scenarios taking place, they will be able to see the unedited videos for themselves and make up their own minds about what was occurring during the meeting.

I'm hoping that District 29 voters will watch the other videos and determine how they can support the newly elected officers who are sincerely interested in improving their communication with them.
