Hi. I have started a new journey. One that is less dangerous (surf photography) and less painful (gym). That new journey is to become a reasonable scale modeller. I served for 8 years in the Royal Australian Navy and have always loved the ocean and all ocean craft. So I decided to combine my service and love of the ocean and ships and build scale models. There will be laughs along the journey. There will be stories and hopefully some pretty awesome models. So please, come along for the ride. And if you have hints or tips (not "hey Simon, get a new hobby"), please feel free to share them. All models built on my grandads old dining table and a bench made by my dad. 2 men that are 2 of my 7 heroes (mum, dad, grandad, grandma, nanna, grampy my sister Rochelle and Uncle Roy)
9.5 degree Srixon ZX5 driver. Finally hitting it semi decently
Went for another hit today to test the shoulder. All good. Had a great little session. Smoked a few drives (well considering I am not 100% back to strength, haven’t hit properly in 10 years and it’s a new driver). #srixongolf #fatboygolf

You can’t sink a putt unless you get it past the hole. My aim in this video was to sink the putt or leave it within a foot behind the hole. I passed. #4sunkputts #fatboygolf #putting #odesseygolf #odesseyputters #AImilled

So, went for my first proper hit after 10 years and a shoulder replacement today. Didn’t do all that bad in my opinion. 100 balls hit and I would say 80% of those on target. Lost a lot of distance in that 10 years. But that will come back. Fucking love it.

Fourth episode of the Camper build. Thanks to @OzScalemodeling for the kit. Fourth episode looks at sections 15-18 in the instructions. Unfortunately I deleted by accident (I blame the Covid for my scattered brain). I made a mistake in the adding of the decal to one of the seats, but I think my solution worked out ok. Sure is me. Haha. That was a trip and a half mate. Dislocated shoulder from Hong Kong footy and in a sling until Pusan. A few of the CSO boys (4 of us) getting arrested in Makati City. Hope you are well mate.

Just the range mate. Haven’t been cleared for the course yet. Will put up a good putting drill later today. May even start the “Fatboy Golf” channel

Always got to start with a pull. Putting is the one thing that lets me down most. I always rush the putts. With courses being so busy now i dont want to hold anyone up
Take your time. How do you read the putt mate? 😊

Thanks mate. It’s been a long time since I swung a club. Irons are great (new Srixon ZX4 mk11), driver and 3 wood, well they are a different story all together.

Nah. My driver and irons usually synch. Then my putter hates me. My putter loves me now. Have a look at Cleveland wedges. I have the CB4,ZipCore. 58, 54 and 48 degree. They are awesome. And nippy

Thanks Jeff. Shoulder is great. Feels like a new one. Well I guess it is. Had no pain from the start. Physio has been awesome. Getting into more gold specific things now which is shoulder orientated. Hope you are well mate.

@@hibbosmodelbench2351 im about to start building my n scale layout soon , bought a Rio grande ABA locos and 8 car passenger train , was going to start this weekend but got a very nasty chest infection , im impressed its actually far worse than the man flue , building houses these days ,not tanks or battleships lol, i do have one recorded just have to edit it !

Hey Ed. Thanks for popping in my friend. I would have loved to have done more this weekend, but yesterday was 42 degrees C here and I wanted to keep cool. I may do a bit after I mow my lawn today and then a bit more after lunch with my dad. Tomorrow is the big day. Pain come at me. Will be able to watch so much TH-cam over the next 6 weeks. Take care mate. Have a tin (beer) for me tomorrow night.

Thanks Paul. It’s too hot to do any this weekend in Perth. So it will have to wait until my arm is out of my sling. Stay tuned for a corker of a video on Simons_shoulder_replacement in the next few days (I’m not sure it will be a corker)
