On the launch wipe... why not quarantine all the characters from EA until there are a decent amount of launch characters of that level, then allow server transfers (minus items and money perhaps) to the live servers. Even if you only kept the name / class and level of the EA toons, that would be a lovely reward for people who have been playing through EA.

It's been pretty awesome watching the numbers and review score go up on steam. Things looked a bit rocky for a short while with mixed review scores and a WHOLE LOT of angry threads lol. One of my subs said it best in my comments "Playing Pantheon is believing in Pantheon!" I think Brad would be proud, and that's awesome! Keep on keeping on!

Stealth Fix: Couldn't you just have each mob turn 360 degrees as if looking around after it exits combat? Wouldn't that solve your stealth smell issue? Even follow a sniffer-dog type path to achieve the same thing so it does look silly? I think the thing other games did, was put a slight lag on aggro from behind so it wasn't impossible to backstab.
Good thought and similar to one of the solutions we're considering.

19:20 Will druids and wizard be able to quad kite? The devs in EQ didn't design the game to quad kite....we, the players, created it. Those are the things that made EQ special. We discovered fear kiting and made it a strategy. These are the things that made this game feel like a sandbox.
We're not designing things to support quad kiting specifically, but I'm looking forward to all of the new "emergent gameplay" techniques players come up with.
You absolutely could solo in classic Everquest. Especially now cause we know so much about the game. If you understand the mechanics of Norrath, and you're not a warrior or a rogue, you could solo. It was slow, but you could do it.

That's not the issue with the bank for me as much, it's dragging and losing the item mid-drag. And again, and again. So to stack you have to drag the same item often multiple times :).
Atleast there are a ton of developers looking for work thanks to other companies and the poor american labour laws. This is a win for VR though. Hope you find all the great people you need soon.

1:39:29 Not getting that impression or feeling at all that drops with gear are high in group content 🤔 This gotta be just one person as an outlier. I don’t expect this game to have a high drop rate of gear so maybe just not understanding where this one person is coming from completely
It's 2025. End the stigmatization of players who choose to occasionally have more than one character logged in. Adding safeguards such as no autofollow already prevents boxing from really being an advantage imo. If you find them in-game camping a spot, you can interact. People are imagining problems that don't exist. VR should focus it's efforts on banning bots. Leave the community to decide how to handle interactions in game with players of all kinds. Making separate servers is stigmatization and schizm, plus would make VR waste resources, which also includes multiboxing couples and families, and friends just playing together with friends.
“Good groups” are hard to find. No one tells you they don’t know how to play in a group. I played in a group in Pantheon yesterday for the first time and one of our group members was resting the entire time, for over an hour and he was dps player. I find most of my experiences with groups as “time wasters”. I can do better with killing mobs that are white or dark blue to me and achieve better result, faster than mostly failed groups. Solo for the win!
About the loot drops, maybe, i've not been in too many groups yet. But we did get 3x the ac12 dex +1 or str +1 chest piece 3x while farming Gedai around the spot where the stolen artefact spawns. And those were regular non group mobs. We farmed the sack 2x so you'll know the amount of time we were there.
Have they ever said what Netcode system Pantheon uses? I'm surprised to see it's Unity.
Honestly if I can just solo all dungeons as a rogue but it takes me 6+ hours vs 1 with a group I would be super happy. Like not making it perfect to where solo is more viable than grouping but let it be possible and if I spend 6 hours in goblin caves and get a piece or 2 of loot for a warrior or something then I get the satisfaction of being a dungeon delving rogue without a real advantage vs a group for xp or gear. Just so much better cause most solo players want the feeling of accomplishment not the gratification of easy loot.
I can totally see this. If the enemy difficulty was staggered throughout a dungeon (weak, normal, strong, repeat) and the rogue had access to some limited way to cloak past strong enemies (cloaking potions? A special cape/cloak with x uses before it has to be re-enchanted or something?) this would work. Heck if the big boss at the end was really weak to a cloaked backstab, you might gain a high chance of taking them out by yourself, which would be AWESOME. I'm completely down for something like this.

Wish i did not miss this, but why did we go with the same nameplates from EQ style, so many of these issues my friends crossing over is of course the UI and lack of story yet, but the target frames and player frames are very difficult to work with.
100% agree. The font is placeholder for now, and there are a myriad of UI improvements we're planning to make over time.
hello guys. I'm enjoying your game and I have one important question, if this game is so group-focused, like after a certain level you can't really progress without a group, what will happen with new players in the future? Or alts? So if someone starts playing this game after 6 month or so and he just can't find group because everybody are like 20+? What is the plan for the future?

We're not designing it as a group-only game. As the game continues to develop, there should be plenty of content for solo players and small groups to progress.
We all bought the game as a family, but sadly, we refunded it. The combat and animations are unacceptable in 2025 for a game that has been in development for over five years. The systems, difficulty, and everything else are great, but the combat animations, sound, and general feel are a deal breaker.
The combat does need some tweaking, it doesn’t feel very meaty or like it has weight behind it, I’m hoping that improves with time. However, if y’all can manage to overlook that, what’s there is very fun, challenging and rewarding. Safe travels!
Appreciate you guys giving it a shot. Hopefully that means you'll be willing to check back after a while once we've improved in these areas!

I think u guys managed that the game feels like breath of the wild while wandering around. Even my 9 year old kid mentioned this when he saw the game 1st time. But group combat actually feels like vanguard more than EQ imho.

Yeah, as a paladin in EQ i had to solo a lot from 52 to 60 in guk. Was tough to get groups for a paladin back then and guk was also a super fun solo challenge.

I haven’t had the chance to catch the streams but I’ve been meaning to ask cause I noticed recently, has the short range teleport for dire lords and wizards been nerfed? In the sense that they can no longer use the ability vertically and if so what was the reason? Kinda takes some of the appeal out of the ability
Grouping game is good but I will still try to solo sometime just like I did in FF11 game of the years because thy won more

He answered that or at least addressed it in one of his recent streams before this one (I think 12/16). Paraphrasing him but basically they are open to the idea of it if they feel they can get things in game to where controller would be viable. Sounded like this would be down the road quite a bit but he likes the idea. People were comparing ff14, ff11, eqoa, etc.

I hope they add more skills for the weapons like let's say you are a wizard and your using a dagger or sword I hope weapon skills come with that weapon as it's leveling up tht would be a good idea too for more build differences

I haven't been able to move my crafting ahead at all, because I cant find any chests or recipes. ANY, not even one. Either other chars are taking them all, or they are way way to rare for starter ones. Thanks for all you do !
My first MMO character was a dwarven warrior on EQ. I was solo most of the time but met some people and grouped sometimes. Looking back I spent a lot of time sitting down after each fight, but it was still a brilliant game which you could absolutely solo. The other thing EQ did well was group content with a small group. Re stacking items: they do seem to stack in your inventory, so could that function be reused for the bank?
People repeat the meme: "EQ wasnt soloable" pretty lackadaisically. To be honest - i dont think many actually played EQ in its day. As early as Kunark, classes like Warriors and rogues started to get tools to let them solo. For instance, Warriors got a slow proc hammer and a clicky heal. Rogues got multiple snare proc daggers (and poisons you lazy rogues) and clicky heal and fear skill. Clerics could solo fine. Could single pull pretty much anything - and if you died... well youre a cleric and got that covered dont ya? Every single class could solo to varying degrees.
I am glad you are including solo content. Sometimes I just want to grind in peace while watching TH-cam or something else.
As an old head, UO / EQ were my first MMO's and I played the hell out of them (I still dabble on P99) - Pantheon is really awesome, in many ways. Like many others, we've been waiting for this game for a very long time. Completely pleased by its current state and cannot wait for what's to come.
