Mk7 Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCI service
Hi guys,
In this video I carry out an oil and filter change service on a 2008 Ford Fiesta 1.6 TDCI.
Tools required:
•Flathead screwdriver
•T30
•27mm socket
•21mm socket
•Ratchet
•Drainer
•Funnel
•Jack and axle stands
Optional:
Impact gun
Drill
Car Lift
I advise checking torque setting and filling quantities before. It is important that all bolts are tightened correctly because if not it could cause damage to the car or an accident. Also, with some bolts they are torque to yield which should be replaced so be careful if reusing bolts as they can snap.
This video is a guide on how to carry out the task and does not guarantee the result. It is recommended that a skilled technician carry’s out work on vehicles to ensure for best results.
I hope this video helps.

Had this one happen when i was with my family on holiday in Austria. Engine suddenly switched to the emergency mode and the car refused to drive. Found out what happened only after getting a tow service to the nearest Honda dealership (the break was hidden on the bottom). They glued it and taped it (didn't have the piece on stock). I replaced it when i got back home. From that experience i now always have in my car a roll of duct tape and electrical tape to be prepared 😂

Thank you for the great video. I’m also trying to tackle the fuel filter on my fathers HR-V, but my question is, how did you prime the system with fuel? The CR-V has a primer pump, the HR-V 1.6 d-tec does not. Does the engine have some sort of primer pump build in? In other words, does it start on it’s own or do you somehow have to manually suck the fuel in to the system prior to starting the engine? Thank you in advance and cheers 😊

    • @greasemonkey6159
      @greasemonkey6159 ปีที่แล้ว

I couldn’t seem to find a primer pump so all I did was once all the service was complete. I turned on the ignition so that the fuel pump would operate and then turned the ignition back off. I did this about 20 times and then started the car and it was all okay.

Before replacing, it is worth measuring the resistance of the contacts. It should be between 30 and 40 ohms. Any other value indicates a fault. If the resistance is correct, check the vacuum line for leaks.
