I ran a Mack and a peterbilt. The cooling system was far better for the dusty environments roll off trucks run in. Never had to blow the radiator out on the Mack compared to having to blow the radiator out on the Peterbilt multiple times a week. I'd love to tru a Western Star

Hook is way faster eliminates getting out the truck hook and go. I drive a roll off cable truck here in Texas . Hook truck the box can get Squirrley and come off the back rollers easily on uneven ground same for cable but the rails on the roll off cable gives you more control of the box when picking up . But hey do what pays !!!!!

He returned my call a few days later, asked a few questions and said he will call me back with a quote, but almost after a month I never heard from him. I used the same form that Wisdom has you fill out and sent it to another company. Was given a quote within 48 hours. Accepted the quote and am very happy. Toby is very busy, so if you really want to go with Wisdom, be that squeaky wheel.

Hook lift I been running them for 14 yrs

100% cable for me. Someone mentioned that you have to be straight on to load a container. With a cable, I can walk out a parallel parked container with parked cars in front of and behind. The hook lift might be a little faster because you don't have to get out of the cab as much, but I would always choose a cable roll off truck.

What is the longest term (months) you finance for?

The company i used to work for ran 54" hook heights on tandem axle trucks without adjustable jibs. They bought a smaller company, and they ran 36" hook heights. It was a rough few months only having one truck that could haul the haul those dumpsters because the smaller companies truck had the adjustable jib. No liked driving the truck with the adjustable jib because it was an 18-speed. After 12-14 hrs of hauling dumpsters with that 18, you were whipped. The company started without tarpers on the trucks, and they started putting them on them. The time savings having the tarp system pays for itself. It's an extra 2 or 3 dumpsters a day

Although I do appreciate you guys doing the hard work and going out of the way to get financing At a 10% interest rate the only person making money on one of these trucks would be the bank A $200,000 loan at 10% it’s 20 grand a year It’s hard to make sense of the numbers with interest rates so high

Why not just do it all in a box? Don’t understand the point of a flat bed. Our boxes have D-rings in the corners for hauling equipment.

Quick question, concerning the universal locks on the swap loader. What happens when you build a truck for a guy, he receives and goes to use those locks but whatever reason it hits a cross member on a dumpster?

F600 is a dream truck for me. I'm hoping to get my company started and running this year!

The operator of the cable truck has no skills! There are controls inside the cab, you only get out once to hook up the cable. Both trucks are set up wrong as well, the tarp holder is too low blocking rear visibility.

Absolutely the cable for me: expecially on paved Asphalt to prevent damage.

Love my 550 hooklift truck. Just got my snowplow installed and make a pretty cool way to use the lift to lift and hold my spreader. 7.3 is running great. Pulled tons of trailers with a loaded dumpster too.

Depends on 3 things, Do I need high reliability? Interest. Is there a concern I won't be able to make a monthly payment, like in an off season for my primary industry? Maintenance. Can I make a big enough down payment to prevent from being upside down on the loan?

i’ve been in the passenger side of the mack one and it sucks you seat really high and up right and forward

So basically hook truck is easier to operate but the wire truck is much needed if a container needs to be pulled out of a smaller place. Both are great and do their stuff.

How much capacity do the f600s generally have being that they’re a smaller platform

What wheelbase or ca length should I be looking at to haul 16’ cans? I’m in Ohio it seems most states are ok with a 2’ overhang. I guess if I got one to haul 16’ with no overhang I could also haul 18’ if I came across some. I like the idea of 16’ cans to make it easier for people to load them vs the short cans with high sides. I don’t hear anyone discussing this on all the guys I follow on TH-cam so maybe it’s not a big deal? I’d really like to get a for or fvr derated truck. Maybe you could do a video discussing this topic and show different size cans on your truck. Thank you. Hope business is good.
