Fantastic video, thank you. But, for me the background music was horribly distracting. Thanks for links, too
@@Mower117 Thanks for the feedback
Love your videos! Watched your videos and purchased your leds, and they arrived very quick! Followed your instructions installed them in my 2003 Silverado and saved me a lot of money plus I can see my Cluster at night again and I love the new ice color vs the stock. Thank You! Your the man!
@@jamesarm1 awesome! Glad to hear of service 😊
Orderd blue LEDs for our 03 GMC Sierra. The instruction sheet was simple & straight forward. We followed your video and the entire process took just over an hour. Now the dash lights are beautiful. THANK YOU.

Lose the music and this would be A+. Love the multi cameras.
How did you get the odometer red?

question...do the clusters with the twist in bulbs work on 03s? im not very solder-savvy
No
@@Tachtronics whats the difference? bc i have a 1500 cluster in my 2500hd rn and the guages work...cluster is the same as in ur video wo trans temp guage
@@johnharrison5098 the ‘99-‘02 clusters look very similar to the ‘03+ on the surface but very different internally. I’ll spare you all the minute details but if you swap them, it will not power up due to the polarity on the plug being different.
Just curious which one is the positive and negative on the cluster for the bulbs you’re replacing?
You’ll either need to power it up and test for polarity or if you buy the kit from us, we include a diagram that shows the polarity.

Are idiot lights bulbs
Are idiots bulbs
So these bulbs allow you to use the dimmer?
Yes
I had a speedometer that wasn’t working and a temp gage and I replaced all the stepper motors And bulbs and now the lights won’t come on when I turn the truck on and it’s a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500hd classic..as far as I know iv done everything right..any help would be much appreciated
Are the rest of your dash lights coming on (ex. Radio, HVAC controls, etc…?) if not, you’re light switch is out. If it’s just the cluster not illuminating, I’d reflow the circuit board where the wires plug in to the cluster.
Yes all lights on dash work..just the lights in the cluster that I replaced won’t come on when I turn key on
@@chadallen6056 in that case, I’d start with reflowing the plug where you plug in the wiring harness
Glad this isn’t a how to video
I don't know if it's been pointed out in relation to nighttime illumination, the human eye is most sensitive to blue and green, using the cones in the retina. At night, one doesn't want the cones waking up, night time is where the rods are needed. Colors below yellow are what the eye naturally "expects" to see at night. Even that blue High Beam lamp in my dash drives me bonkers. So I drive 99.9% using dims at night. Many deer have survived crossing the highway at night because of that AND driver's unimpaired night vision. No blood and guts in my grill, no dented fenders or smashed windshields. I say ANY lighting, inside or outside the car has NO place being even partially green or blue AT NIGHT. It's a serious safety issue, IMO. Of course, outlawing all those bluish and greenish headlights will never happen--bad for sales & profits. Seems one's only defense is to wear yellow tinted "night driving" shades. Try it and see for yourself!
My leds always ends up flickering eventually. What am I doing wrong?
Where are you getting the LEDs?
@@Tachtronics first was off ebay and then I bought more expensive ones from Amazon
@@justinschubbe5707 I don’t know exactly which leds you purchased but there are lot of very low quality LEDs out there. I don’t think you’re the issue, most likely the issue is just not using quality LEDs. Here’s a link to our LEDs. We guarantee them for a year. Our failure rate is well below 1% for the remaining life of the truck. www.tachtronics.com/product-page/diy-kit-led-with-instrucrions

Hey. What’s. Up I need to fix my how. I can contact you
I know this is an old video, but hoping to get some insight. I've completed some led retrofitting on the cluster and some other components. I am getting a dimmer control circuit 1 and 2 DCT errors now B2610 and B2615 although the leds seem to dim fine for the most part. The dash doesn't dim all the way to off with the dimmer potentiometer, but does dim. Is this something you may have dealt with in the past that you may help point me in the right direction? 2006 Tahoe. Does the BCM possibly see the lower current draw as a bunch of open bulbs or something?
I went to your site and I didn't see the option for the premium chrome and blue needles you used here.
I quit selling them due to them being pretty problematic. GM Guage Repair sells them on eBay.
@@Tachtronics yeah I saw that. They want 125 bucks for them. Is that the problem or is there another problem with them? Should I avoid them? I like the way they look, but if they're junk then I don't want that.
@@mikewall1375 they look nice but don’t illuminate very well and the even bigger issue is they’re built very cheap and therefore break pretty easily.
You’re really not gonna tell me is which is positive and negative?
The kit comes with a polarity diagram. Also not hard to figure out, just takes a little more time. www.tachtronics.com/product-page/diy-kit-led-with-instrucrions
how do u reprogram these so they match the hours and millage and settings for your vehicle
Uh ... thanks, I guess, but what I was really looking for was instructions for how to remove the cluster from the dash.

If I'm replacing all the steppers with x27's, would it matter about marking anything for the needles ?
You still need to mark the position of the needles so that you can use those marks to calibrate it when you reassemble.
Can you change the turn signal bulbs as well
Yes but not recommended.
Why is it not recommended
@@lukestortroen609 1. A bright flashing light in your face, particularly after dark, can have a momentary blinding effect and 2. There gauge face has a green film on it so even if you change the color of the LED, it is probably not going to shine the color you’re wanting after the light shines through the green film.
Makes sense. How much is it to upgrade. And also can you do all the switch and climate control
@@lukestortroen609 email us at tachtronics@gmail.com please.
How do you change the odometer and gear selector lights?
You’ll need to put film over them. They don’t have lights that can be swapped for difference colors.
Trying to set up my table to do this, disabled and looking for a side hustle. How do I build the wiring to power the cluster? I can get the connector at the junkyard but what wires, power supply do I need? Any advice is appreciated 😎
Great video but your desk lamp is too bright. Can't see the LED lights very well when ON or OFF.
Im looking to start rebuilding clusters or making custom cluster but dont know all the parts i need to start the businesses
How do I get that power source adapter
I got a pigtail from an auto salvage yard and then hooked it up to a 12v power source. Probably not worth the trouble unless you plan on doing more than just one or 2 clusters.
The GOAT 🐐
Never understood the point of marking the needles; the stepper motors have a built in stop and self-test. Just push the needle all the way down to the stop, remove it. When installing set it on gently and turn to the stop, again, before pushing them all the way down. Plug it up, good to go.
Just installed the Ice Blue kit in my 03 Suburban cluster, and it looks awesome! Arrived in less than a week with a great diagram and clear instructions. Only had two lamps still working, so a huge improvement! Take your time and be gentle, a soldering iron with a fine tip at about 400F worked well. The kit is absolutely worth every penny! Thank you sir!!!
Thank you for the feedback and glad to hear it did the trick for you!
Why 😂😂😂do 😂 crazy
When I the needle back it doesn’t read the appropriate MPH
If it’s moving correctly but just off by x amount of miles, just pull the lens and reposition the needle.
@@Tachtronics can you send me the link to the bulbs, I think the last time I had the cluster on the truck, (I have 2) the needle would say I was going like 80 when I was doing about 35/40
