Pinched Harmonics Tip: I Remember You Guitar Solo by Skid Row
มุมมอง 2015 หลายเดือนก่อน
When I was starting to learn guitar solos back in the 90s, I was wondering how Scotty was playing the high note at the end of the solo because it was beyond the 24th fret of the high E string. I didn’t know about pinched harmonics until I saw a friend doing it while he was playing. When I learned it I tended to search along the strings and find the right notes when doing pinched harmonics. I ho...

Pinched Harmonics Tip: Right Now Solo by Van Halen
มุมมอง 985 หลายเดือนก่อน
Welcome back guys! In this tip we will learn the pinched harmonics section of the awesome guitar solo to Van Halen’s song Right Now. Strat-style guitars are best to learn pinched harmonics with as the pickups are excellent ‘pinch-point’ markers. Also, it is best to use the bridge pickups when applying pinch harmonics. Please view also my first lesson on pinched harmonics titled Louder and At Wi...
Pinched Harmonics Tip: Jump Solo by Van Halen

Eddie Van Halen definitely is the best guitar player since Jimmy Hendrix. Among his many techniques, the pinched harmonics is one of his recognizable trademark next to the tapping and chime like tapped harmonics. In this video we will learn how to play the pinched harmonics section of the guitar solo to Van Halen’s smash hit ‘Jump’. This is a very short lesson and after watching you definitely ...

The guitar masterpiece from the first album with Sammy Hagar. A true guitar gem. Eddie displays his unconventional palm muting technique, which is key to nailing his guitar work on this awesome tune. A really fun tune to play. I hope you enjoy! Originally written and recorded by Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony as the band Van Halen. Top 10 Van Halen Guitar Solos
มุมมอง 3972 ปีที่แล้ว
All of Van Halen guitar solos are great and are as technical as they are musical. It is really hard to come up with a top 10 list. For this list I considered the first 10 albums from Van Halen and represented one guitar solo for each. No instrumental songs or outside the band collaboration song on this list. I hope you enjoy this video and please comment your own list. Playing VH songs and solo...
Floyd Rose Install on a Strat
มุมมอง 39K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Floyd Rose style bridge installation on my Fernando Stratocaster. All my electric guitars are equipped with Floyd Rose bridges except for this one. I have a spare Floyd bridge and locking nut and will attempt to do it myself with a router and drill. I will also replace the single coil brodge pickup to a humbucker. I think this is the simplest way to install a Floyd bridge.
Top 10 Slash Guitar Solos with Guns N’ Roses
มุมมอง 732 ปีที่แล้ว
Slash is a huge influence to many guitar players! When I started learning how to play the guitar back in late 1990, the first guitar solo that I tried to learn to play was ‘Patience’( I got the GN’R Lies album first and soon after Appetite for Destruction). And since then Slash has been a major influence for me especially on his work on ‘Appetite’. That intro and that tone to ‘Welcome to the Ju...

Which amp is that
@@marinhudoklin1255 That is a 30watt Line 6 Spider 3 using the crunch channel with the gain around 3 o’clock and 4 o’clock.
I’m just wondering WHY anyone would even want a Floyd rose on any guitar, let alone a cheap Strat copy!?
I used to bring at least 3 guitars to gigs playing in a cover band. The strat is a versatile guitar and you can get tones applicable to any genre. I wanted to put a floyd rose and a humbucker so that I can cover hard rock especially 80s tunes. Thank you for your comment.
The 6 screw design is bad, it was never good and never will be, screws are not pivot points and everyone except strat players hate it. floyd roses are easy to keep in tune and are simply better. they look cooler too, if you have the skills almost every guitar u own can have a floyd on it.
@GaryCost Obviously you don't understand the Floyd! Because if you did you would realize once you learn to dial them in, they are bulletproof! I put Floyds on everything! I put one on my car the other day! It's fabulous! 🎸🤘🏻
@ That is hilarious! I love your comment man!
@@rvmguitarsmusicmore7980 Thanks man! What can I say, I love the floyd! 👍🏻🔴⚪⚫👑
ITS SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOD, I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!1!
Thank you very much😊
Good project and well documented. Appreciate all the work you put into this.
Thank you very much😊
Good thing it's only a 100$ guitar. Thanks for the video sir.
Actually, I bought it for $50😅 but it plays really good I love the action. I will be posting videos using this guitar very soon.
@@rvmguitarsmusicmore7980 Good deal. Good work. Good video. I want to do the same thing to an old Fender Strat I have but I'm scared I'm gonna screw it up. I hate the original saddle. It makes palm muting difficult for me.
@@Crazytownmetal6 I agree with you with the saddles. If you are not yet used to working with a router I would suggest you practice on a few pieces of wood before doing work on your Strat. When I did this work I was anticipating that the aesthetics would be worse. But what the heck, the guitar now does what I wanted it to do. It screams and the tremolo stays in tune. I am sure EVH(RIP) did a lot of mistakes when he first tinkered on his guitar, that is quite a relief for me. But be courageous and confident. I wish you all the best in your Floyd Rose install project.☺
@@rvmguitarsmusicmore7980can I find guitars for that price on mercari and at flea markets?
What's the music playing in the background, please tell me the name.
The background music is just me noodling around and experimenting with recording with garage band. I might someday work on it to make it a complete song.
@rvmguitarsmusicmore7980 I want to play it, I do different covers, you can check it out on my channel. Your music sounds like 80's movie music, very cool. Too bad the quality is bad and I can't hear some moments to play it right ((
This was painful to watch Horrible background music
There are like thousands of videos about pinch harmonics and most are the "definitive" tutorial but yours is the most clear and accurate, I was already getting the harmonics (I remember you solo, last note crazy p.h.) but very inconsistently and although I don't hold the pick like you by just applying this I just nailed, thank you.
That’s awesome! It sure is nice that you learned some things on this video. I will be posting another pinched harmonics lesson before end of this month I hope you like it too. Also, the pinched harmonics at the end of the I remember you solo is the same as the pinched harmonics at the beginning of I can’t fight this feeling solo by REO Speedwagon you can check it out. Thank you for your response to this lesson I really appreciate it.😊
Studs for the floating bridge one is already broken x.x this is the problem.
If you don't have a proper routing jig- learn the old world skill of a mallet & chisel!!
A Dremel tool works great too! (If you have one)
@@wadestrickel7068 If you have some type of guard or jig, otherwise- what if it goes squirrelly and gets away from you? Some masking tape, and marking lines pre-measured multiple times with a drafter's pencil before chiseling is a safer way, the locking nut can also be done that way, & is actually pretty fast
dont know who is worse this guy or guns and guitars guy, lol
In what way?
@@justinwaddle5286 Should we start with the very badly timed playing and go from there?
@@JohnBaker-vm1wfoh fuck i know……
Give me 3 reasons why it's a bad job.
Yeah lol
quick tidbit, the old style strat trem 6 screw, the floyd front row of holes for intonation setting actually lines up and once you put at least 2 on each end you will see where your holes need to be drilled for stud mounts
Ya he butchered this guitar.. when are folks going to stop with the router and use a hammer & sharp chisel? Oh god, now he's got out the router lol
You forgot to show PP3 example?
@@waynegram8907 it’s on the 2:02 to 2:33 mark and location is on the 1:14 mark
What brand and model floyd did u use may i have the link
@@travisethandizon8913 I bought it online. Here’s the link: s.lazada.com.ph/s.mPV3P
How did you choose your router bit?
Hi! for this project I chose the 12mm bit. Since I was a complete beginner and this was my first project, I figured I will use the bit that will have the minimum damage possible should I make any mistakes. Which I did on this one. Also, I chose this bit so it will be as close to the radius on the standard Floyd rose pockets on the edges/corners. After this, I’ve had 2 more projects wherein I used the same 12mm router bit. Thank you for your question and for viewing this video.

Don't forget to shove your thumb behind the pick Kids, or ya won't hear squat! Ed copped that from Billy Gibbons watching him play the solo on LaGrange, only he used a Mexican Peso as a pick. Gritty!!
Absolutely right man! I have a video on how to make louder pinched harmonics I will include this in the comments. Eddie has always been a huge fan of Billy Gibbons and his pinched harmonics. Thanks for the trivia!
@@rvmguitarsmusicmore7980 Yah Mon!

If was you I would raise that pickup up just a little bit for more and turn your gain up some more but other than that good job
Thank you man! Will follow your advice and try it on the next video.
Plugged straight into a Peavey? Amazing! Nice Work, sounds great!
Excellent Guitar work! Wish I could do that! Technique and interpretation are pretty dam good! Almost perfect tone and effects for copying Eddie, nice job. However, the gain, edge and cut of Eddies sound did not project. Could have been your Amp setup or quite possibly my headset? Loved it, gonna hit follow, thanks.
Thanks mam I really appreciate your comment. My guitar is plugged straight into a Peavey Bandit 112. Lots more thanks for following!
Nice!!

That’s great
Musta, I enjoyed your 10 best Van Halen solos and 10 best Van Halen riffs too. Well done for doing them. Eddie is my favourite rock player , along with Jimi Hendrix too. I also enjoyed your video where you install a Floyd Rose Trem , on your strat. I wanted to comment on them, but couldn't. You could maybe turn your comments on, on your videos, so people can comment and give you encouragement. Please just ignore anyone with anything negative to say. They are just jealous probably. Because they are not as good. I have had negative comments on my videos too. Some people just want to bring others down for some reason. But just ignore them and delete them. Keep making videos and staying positive about your guitar playing and music.. I've subscribed
Thank you paulopezz! I did not realize my comments were turned off I’ve turned it on now. Thanks for your advice on the negative comments. Been really busy at work and I am really rarin’ to do more videos. I’m a really big EVH fan and I like Hendrix too my favorite tune to jam along is All along the watch tower. I also like Jimmy Page, Don Felder, Satch, Vai, Nuno, Slash, Hammett and many more 80s cats.
I subscribed to your channel as well

Absolutely! Great intro and the song really rocks!
"Eruption" and "you really got me"...
BRAVO! You know how to play Eddie... congratulations
Thank you very much!
Yooo that was awesome. The way you played it ,was nice and slow. It was perfect 😢
Great !
Thanks Igor for viewing!
Extremely awesome playing! This video perfectly illustrates the genius, visionary and virtuoso that EVH really was. Your list is pretty good, however I’ll have to throw in a vote for the intro to “Somebody Get Me A Doctor” from VH II. EVH was one of, if not the best rhythm guitarist to ever live.
Thanks! I am presently doing a video for top 10 VH guitar solos and Somebody Get Me a Doctor is included!
Thank Edie the founder,he is the best of all times
Edward was the king of the 1 minute intro that was a song in itself. Like your list, but every VH song has a wonderful intro.
