Pelican Bass Raider 10E, Trailer Talk
มุมมอง 5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Hi TH-camrs! With all the interest in modifying Bass Raiders, I noticed there's not much discussion about what kind of trailer we all need to be thinking of to haul, launch, recover and store your boat on. I hope this sparks some good discussion & exchange of ideas. You can see more about my trailer on another of my videos. I'd really like to see what others have done as well!

This is how I set-up my trailer to customize it for a Pelican Bass Raider 10E, to maximize pontoon support and protection.
Pelican Bass Raider 10E, Underwater Camera Mod.
มุมมอง 2.8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Hi again U-Tubers, Here's another of my mods., for you folks thinking about filming your fishing exploits. This gives you an additional prospective of the fishing action, by taking it underwater! You can also adjust it to film both above and below the water level simultaneously. My set-up is for a GoPro 5,6,or 7 "waterproof camera". We'll see you again next time on the Tube!
Pelican Bass Raider 10E, Camera Mount Mod.
มุมมอง 2.2K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Hi Folks, Just wanted to show you guys my idea for a camera set-up for your Pelican Rigs. You can use this set-up with virtually any Mod. you do to your boat, so I think it has application to anyone wanting to film while fishing! I think I may have about $250.00 in the entire set-up, to include the camera! I went with the Go-Pro 7, just because of the "voice" activation & stabilization features...
Pelican Bass Raider 10E, Transducer

Just an update on how the Pelican Bass Raider 10E set up is going. Just a few growing pains or hiccups. Let me know what you think, as always!
Nice build get you the ion lithium batteries less weight.
25hp is pretty big for that small boat. Must be a fun ride!
It's actually rated for a 25 hp
Are these micro skiffs made in Puerto Rico?
Yes, they are…
You got a great name Jim this is Jim and I need to ask you how did you hold the floors down
The front & rear casting decks are secured to the motor mounting pads via the existing bolt holes. The decks are then attached to the floor. This way I avoided any new drilled holes in my boat...
Just saw you list this for sale on Skiff Classifieds on Facebook. I started figuring out how to import one from Puerto Rico and it seems next to impossible. While researching, I stumbled across this video. It looks sweet!
This very boat is currently for sale out of Texas if you're interested... I facilitated in the shipping of another out of Puerto Rico as well...

Can you send me a link to your spare tire carrier? They only ones that I can find are so big and bulky I just won’t mind to go up under my bass raider exactly like yours.
I got mine from Continental Trailers. It's just a U-bolt that fits through the bolt holes on the rim. It goes arounf your trailer fram and attaches with nuts of some kind...
Can I ask what size square u-bolts did you use on your winch stand? I got the same one and can’t find the correct hardware to mount it on my trailer tongue as you have
Harbor freight or Tractor Supply should carry them...
Thank you! And can I ask what winch you have on the winch stand? I bought Reese marine winch that didn’t line up the hole to mount it on top
I love your build. About to start on mine and I am not much of a DYIer, but gonna give it my best shot. Anyway I could pick your brain in an email?
I would love to see some details of your rod holders.
Hi Bill All I did was to mount some 3/4" electrical conduit under the deck and attached them with conduit straps....
Nice. Lmk when you decide to sell.
That very boat is for sale, in Texas, seller is Nat Francis...
Contact Nat Francis 512-848-6858, he's expecting your call now...
Is there. Link were u got the lights
Hi Dave, I sold my Pelican a while back. I picked up all the lights on ebay... Pretty inexpensive..
You still have this??
Nice!! Does the rear deck prevent, or at least help, with the outboard flexing the back of the boat?
Unfortunately, without making a terrible eye soar, these's nothing you can do about the flexing, but stay at 3.5 hp & less.
Take all that contraption off and lay a sheet of plywood down. Then use the stake pockets as for uprights and 2x4 for rails. Done.
How do you power them and how'd you set them all up? Would love to do this for my pelican.
2 batteries under the rear platform
Very nice setup
Hey Jim...Great video and this project is exactly what i am trying to work on. I have a Pelican & was trying to figure out the best mount option...Question on the Scotty 141 mount..Does the slide bracket come with the transducer arm or do you buy the component seperately?
How did you attach the deck?
decks are secured to the rear & forward transoms...
Hey where you get that fish dunker at? I looked it up on Amazon And could not find that?
Is your Mercury a 15" or 20" mount?
15"
Any on water review?
Super Nice video, Thank You. I will do it for my trailer.
What gauge and thickness is your aluminum trolling motor mount?
you can purchase the trolling motor mount from "CraigCat boats...
Do you mod other boats for people?
Great job! Do you have any drawn up.plans and dimensions for both platforms
Unfortunately I don't..
Great job! Do u have build video?
I wish I could find the Scent Dunker you have or something similar. No luck so far but I will continue to look! Thank you for sharing your mods.
Hey Fred have you had any luck in finding the scent dunker?
@@davidramos8765 I'm afraid not. It's too bad since it looks like a very efficient way to scent your lures.
They are no longer made...@@FredGlover
Hi Jim like your set up . I've been arguing with my brother about the rear courtesy light. In my state of Oklahoma the boating rules state that the rear light has to be 3 ft above the running lights. I know this is from 3 years ago I was just wondering what the rules were in your state
Make a video about this more
nice boat bro
That thing needs a canopy like the top fuel boats. 20hp on that thing will overtake speedboats. NICE!
Good video. Thanks. I also have the bass Raider. Does your transducer mounted there w the Scotty 141 deep enough in the water? I just got one and went to mount it and it seems not deep enough. Thanks!
Yea, no problem at all!
Nice , gettin ideas
I watched this video like 20 times. A easier way would be to get: (8) 12 “ Galvanized Swivel Bunk Bracket Kit instead of drilling holes into the trailer frame with L brackets ( he used 4x for this build) Here he uses 4x 5 inch L brackets & 4x 8 inch swivel brackets The 12 inch galvanized swivel bunk brackets are cheaper when you buy them in a quantity of eight and you also have the vertical clearance for your center pontoons
great idea
I’ve wanted one of these for years!!! I’m in Tx. Did you get it from a dealer?
PM me @ 727-254-8242
@@jimgreene8458I'm interested in a Petrel if you know who's selling them here in Florida or USA. Thanks
PM me & I’ll bring you up to speed if you’re serious purchasing one
@@rjknupp No one sells them states side, but I can arrange for you to order one if you're serious about buying one.
Awesome!
I hope you are light, seems like alot of wieght, what is in the floor? How is stability? Thanks
wondering about your outboard motor. I have the suzuki 6 hp. I can run it at half throttle. it weighs just 52 pounds. would I need to build some kind of transom support, in your opinion?
Hey Jim. Great looking boat mods! What are the measurements length × width of both the front deck and the rear deck?
I honestly can't remember exactly, I've since sold the little boat...
Where can I find the 5 inch bunk brackets
WOW I am getting more and more convinced to get one of these! Awesome looking Pelican Subbed! Maybe take a look at my channel if you get a chance!
Very very nice Bass Raider. Where can I get that trolling motor mount?
A couple of questions. How much weight did it add? While standing on the deck, how stable does it feel? Thanks for the ideas and video
Excellent job. Congrats. I may have to do a full front deck (I have a partial now) so you've given me something to consider.
Not understanding how you attached the decks to the floor. I'd rather not drill holes in a plastic boat either, lol.
The floor is attached to the vertical deck framing, which is attached to the forward & aft trolling motor mounts. I used the existing bolt holes in the mounts for the attachments. This way, no new holes were needed. Hope this helps!
Beautiful! was trying to find a video with dual casting decks as that’s what I was thinking of building. Great job looks clean.
Beautiful work!!
Nice clean installation, without having to put holes in the boat. I like it👍
Very nice setup...I just bought an 02 tr186 and this video has given me lots of good ideas for upgrades
Hi Rich, Thanks, it took me a while, but finally got it tricked out to my style of fishing!
