bruh just loose weight
hey, very good reflections, I was just looking for an honest video of some user/artist and I found yours, I want to try to upload my art in society6 because at the moment is what I have available, but all the reasons you describe are right.
Who would you personally recommend for a print on demand service. Many thanks 😊
So helpful
Do they offer print on demand greeting cards?
Thank you for sharing your opinion! +1 subscriber ;)
I haven’t fished watching the video but I have to say that since a very long time ago I wanted to make my own online store but I’m very in to sustainable clothing so not finding that was making it very difficult but I found out about Teemill like 2 months ago and I’m totally in love, now I’m slowly working on my project and I’m so excited to see the final results. I also want to point out that they are really prepared to responde to all your questions and they even have videos where they guide you through the process so you don’t get lost
I've heard so many mixed things about society6 but have been considering using it just as a way to get my foot in the door and learn the process. Would this at least be a good beginners option until i find another avenue?
I googled whether Teemill offers tracking in the US. It appears that they fixed this. I sure hope so as I'm seriously considering doing their pro plan soon.
I found the product search on Society6 to be pathetic. I had very unique artwork titles, I could provide exact search "product name" and had no results show. Why sell on a platform where users can't find your products.
Thanks for the upload. Just beginning my journey with Tee Mill. Any advice would be appreciated.
Such a great video!!
I’m curious, do you know how to prevent our buyers to see the adjustment sliders? So when they apply the preset, all sliders are unadjusted?
Thank you, just found them and playig around with the set up, not very clear and the pricing is very unclear vs others such as printful and printify.... so the shipping side also way too murky so you don't know how much it will cost to ship from UK to rest of world... other UK shipping from the platforms mentioned had very high rates into Europe as not EU anymore... the website they offer to build on starts off sounding great then you learn you have to do all your own marketing and SEO to get found... at first seemed like they do a lot of the behind the scenes getting your shop found... unless I am missing something... the other print on demand seem to struggle to have organic in the US.. which is crazy.
impossible to use, so so so so so so slow to upload/edit art
And another change ... drumroll ... they have paid plans now for 5 or 13 dollars per month.
I find them so obsolete, their print system is so dumb you cannot upload stuff in CMYK but only in RGB profiles unlike all other platforms or print providers, otherwise you risk swapping all colors... it's ridiculous. Every time I go to check the products the design is all decentered from when I placed in the editor and saved and it's freaking slow to do everything. Also, a website that doesn't even remain logged in when you check the option is not updated to be on the internet and should not be on the internet, in my opinion.
I will say though as its a UK based company the sizing makes a little more sense than I think you laid out. Mainly because here and in Europe, which is presumably the largest markets for Teemill, not very many people at all are going to be more than an XXL in size, and that requiring more than that is much more of a US-centric problem. Hell if you go into a lot of clothes shops they'll normally only have a limited number of clothes above an XXL here, because they're just not very popular.
I watched this and the Society6 video. Both were very informative. You should post more often. I'd never heard of Teemill. I'll definitely look into them as a seller. I put about 30 designs on Society6. It does take... F..O..R..E..V..E..R and I dont expect any return on it.
You're wrong to assume that everyone who watches this will be thrilled by your crappy background music. It's a distraction.
Totally agree about the sizing ..
Thanks for this video, probably saved me tons of time :)
Great review, this is 12 months old, any chance of a cons follow up?
This is all just like Zazzle, Redbubble etc. They're just monkey see monkey do, pyramid scheming 95% of their artists and redundantly favoring and promoting the others who probably know them personally, and paying peanuts for sales.
Hello, John! Thank you so much for sharing your video. I am currently looking for an eco-friendly niche product, and I ALMOST started my business with Teemill. However, I changed my mind because they do not provide a tracking service, and there are limitations on marketing. I believe it is totally unfair for them to snatch my customers and redirect them to their website. I hope they consider changing these options because I really, really love what they do! Thank you again for your video and the valuable information you provide. I subscribed your channel! 🙂 ps: I just realized that you uploaded this video 1 year ago. I wonder if there are any changes with their business? any updates?
Thanks John and I agree with @jeremynjin7868 I’d love to know whether Teemill listened and made significant changes.
Nice comprehensive review but the first thing that struck me was how creased everything was! Surely that would be a big deal breaker and bad business or were your items just left crumpled in the corner for a few weeks before review?
Nice video John, I'm thinking the same with etsy, but I'm not sure who will find me with a personal website. Have you paid for Google ads on your personal website? Thank you!
Temilll
please do a review on teemill marketplace
What's the tote bag like once washed?
Not too bad, but still collects dust & microfibers like crazy.
Have you tried Artfully Walls for art prints? They promise 20% (I think), but they have an audience with Anthropologie clients. Do you know of another POD platform that sells cream t-shirts?
It would be awesome if we could change background color and rotate your image, as Treadless. Less files to keep on your computer.
How long did it take to get an order from the UK to the US?
lol my exact thinking.. would love to know..
Can't tell if this is a joke video but I loved it xD
It's 2023 - the links to your website do not work anymore, following through your social media and links I can find there, nowhere do you still maintain your own print store.
Woah what a horrible site thanks for showing us this video
Say it again! "we deserve more than 10%!" Yes, we are worthy. And artists are culture shapers! These buisnesses are really pushing the limits and disregarding our human dignity. Thanks for this helpful review. Don't see this kind of honesty from artists so much these days, lots are getting paid to promote these platforms and disregard critical & useful feedback. Needless to say, I will continue my search for other platforms with more equity & userfriendliness.
Hi Thanks for doing the review! Did Teemilll reply to your video?
I felt so ripped off by Society6! They contacted me to let me know they used my art for a credenza tutorial for their TH-cam account. I got no credit, no shout out, no merch, nothing!!! They used several other of my images for their social media and never credited me once! Worst part was they didn’t even tell me about it. I had to do my own research to see my artwork used on their platform. Makes me sick 🤮
I am a beginner at Society6. I was excited about licensing my designs and now I have about 600 products, but I haven't earned a penny. When I asked Society6 what I should do and how they could help promote my products so that we both could earn, they suggested participating in a blog. I read the blog, but it didn't convince me. I tried promoting myself on IG and FB, but it was all in vain. It's very painful that I spent an unusually large amount of time and I think it's time to say goodbye to them. Absolute disappointment with the website.
I am new to teemill and its very user friendly and uploading my designs is such a good experience. I hope i am in the right place because I love it.
Thankyou for that.....i'm interested!
So what should I (an artist) do ?
I just joined Society 6 and have the same opinions/concerns...I hope someone over there does watch your video and makes this more about the artist and yes, their products are atrociously high!! Thx for sharing your thoughts!
This is so helpful! Thank you. What do you recommend for selling print on demand products?
As a POD newb possibly considering setting up a store on Society6, I found your video very formative, especially the fact that they rely on their artists to bring in traffic tonteira site rather than marketing their wares themselves. Thank you for the upload 👍🏻
I’m so glad I found you and your video!! This was so helpful!!
I totally get it. The site can drive you to despair. I've been there for 6 yrs now and have made ~2500$ but it's been A LOT of work. What sales I made must have come from my own promotion efforts because their internal search is so bad, you couldn't make it up. Most of the time I literally can not find my own designs using my title and tag words. No matter how good your SEO is, the search warps it beyond recognition. I'm focused on FineArtAmerica these days, but since I have the designs plus the keywords and descriptions anyway, it's fast enough to then dump them into S6 as well, do a few self-affiliate pins, and leave it at that. S6 artist support is largely condescending (apart from dear Justin!), there are no analytics, no artist forum, no notifications of comments or sales or anything. They really don't give a shit.
You did fantastic with this video! I REALLY appreciate your energy and the integrity with which you communicate. I do feel differently than you about the tote, I definitely don't want a tote that is all floppy and made out of tshirt material, though I agree with you in that I also don't want a tote that is undersized and has some weird sticky feeling on the outside. Hopefully Teemill will listen to your feedback - especially about US tracking, better menswear options, and inclusive sizing.
This video is SUPER informative and I was all in until I knew that a US base "exists". It would be super helpful if there was an actual facility here in the US and the tracking is an issue for me. I can see people bombarding me with emails wondering where their order is and I FOR SURE don't want to deal with it. Tracking is a must and also the sizing for both men and women have to be increased. I hope that there will be an updated review on this company. I was all set to sign up and integrate into my Etsy shop but those few cons stopped me. If they improve, they will go up on my list of POD companies.
As an artist of various mediums I must say I am SO very tired of artists being taken advantage of, exploited, stolen from and devalued. Youre right transparency is everything and I wish more businesses implemented it instead of leaving it up to just the small business owners. I almost put my work on S6 until I realized I would make pennies while they made twenties. With social media we are all our own brand and have the ability to expand or not, if we choose. We dont technically have to rely on these kinds of platforms, however, they could be a HUGE part of the process and make it more lucrative for everyone involved if they just listened and stepped it up a little.
