Seems like an addiction. Not content with flying, but have to fly dangerously close to objects for increased enjoyment and feeling of “living free” - well, when it’s all about you and the need to feel like you’re living, you become addicted to the rush…and nothing else satisfies except the rush. Eventually, you hit the wall because the need for the rush exceeds common sense. We don’t allow passenger jets to fly at tree line because that would be insane - but individuals “chasing freedom” sure, just clean up the mess when its done.

I miss Chris so much... I think about him every single day. The truth is, some days I'm still in denial and it feels like he's going to come back any second... I try to bargain with some higher power and ask for some way to travel back in time to undo this tragedy. And then other times, I seem to come to more of an acceptance that he's flying in the higher dimension now, with all his other buddies that crossed that bridge before him. I hope he's at peace and flying endless lines now. I'm so proud of everything you accomplished in your life, Chris, and how you lived ten thousand lifetimes in one. You are the most special light. I love you to the moon and back. ❤️💚 I come back to this video most days to hear Chris's voice and see his beautiful smile and pretend I'm still on his journey with him. Thank you again for putting together this beautiful tribute video, and I am really looking forward to seeing the other footage you have of Chris.
There will always be old pilots and bold pilots. But you won’t find an old bold pilot. Such a waste of life pushing the limits too hard for anyone to sustain. If you’re a beginner jumper please don’t think what Chris did was by any means ‘cool’. Being dead is very uncool. Especially to everyone who has to bury their loved ones. He didn’t choose life at all. He chose death. A very early one at that. I’ve lost count of my dead friends I almost feel nothing any more. Especially when they were totally ignoring everyone’s advice to pull up. You’ve gotta be a bit ‘not right’ to brag about hitting over 40 trees in his short career. That’s not something you brag about, you pull your bloody head in. Anyway I feel sorry for his massive family and many friends. BSBD
He seemed like a beautiful human being. And he flew the most amazing lines. Dream lines. God bless you Chris. You definitely inspired me. Thank you. RIP brother.
How about the back story here? So many of these young death deniers end up having children and wives left behind to grieve. Did he have either? Before he launches he sends his love to...??? Lets here from them and how his selfish machismo has impacted tier lives. If he was a free spirit with no offspring good on him ....bu not a role model ppl...wouldnt want my kids taking his life shortening risk taking...would you?
He sent his love to everyone who happened to cross path, including his 10 brothers and sisters and 40 odd first cousins. All of who were extremely proud of him. Sure we lost Chris that day and we will never be whole again but that doesn’t change one thing, it was his life but to do or die and we are still immensely proud. His family line includes the first Australian woman to win an Olympic gold medal, a great uncle who dIed in a spitfire in battle of Britton. Dr authur Meehan, patsy Durack, the flying nurse who delivered the flying doctors aircraft to Australia on a 5 month solo flight. Chris was born into a family of Australian ledgends and he ranks up there with them all. He lived more in day than most live in a lifetime. As his brother I wish I lived his life with the selfless love he showed to all .

The sport has a very high mortality rate perhaps perhaps if one is truly passionate and they're smart enough to value their own life they would find another sport.....
Some people may be passionate about Russian roulette. That does not mean it should be given the title of sport. Doing proximity wing suiting is by very definition,"being your own worst enemy, just like that bullet.

I’m not judging the sport-it’s their choice-but it seems many of the people who fly wingsuits end up seriously injured or killed at the prime of their life. Respect to him for following his passion, but it still seems sad for the life, friends and family left behind by these accidents. ✌️🕊 Edit: I just saw he was your friend and I’m so sorry for your loss. I don’t mean any disrespect… I just feel sad for what these larger than life folks often leave behind.
For people like Chris it’s not about the amount of years, but the amount of life in those years. Chris pushed the limits of human flight like no one did before. He paid the ultimate price for that, but it was a price he was willing to pay. We can only admire people who find their passion and are willing to live out that passion to its extremes. I wish that for everyone, until a 100 years old at least. Thanks for the kind words.

I really thought that Chris was so good, he would live to be an old man. But this sport can get anyone.
All one has to do is watch this video over and over and count the times being offline even a tiny bit would result in an instant and explosive death.
