Comedy isn't measured in laughs per minute
The Bear wins a lot of comedy awards for a show that isn't very funny. It's a serious show, so many people assume it should be in the drama categories. In this video, I argue why The Bear deserves to compete in comedy, and why the Emmys fail in separating shows by comedy and drama.

Streaming will get worse by reinventing cable
มุมมอง 10K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
It's called a business cycle for a reason. The business practices infamously used by cable companies like channel bundling and long term commitments are creeping into the streaming industry, and will likely make streaming worse for customers as they pivot for the long game. I've been thinking about "reinventing cable" for nearly 10 years and finally got my thoughts recorded with this video. Str...
5 Super Bowl commercials dominated by celebrity cameos
มุมมอง 2.1K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
What was that commercial about? Celebs in Super Bowl commercials aren't new, but they were everywhere this year, sometimes to the detriment of the brand itself. This video is listing the top 5 worst offenders of when celebrities overshadowed their sponsors. #superbowl #commercial #benaffleck #dunkindonuts
Nintendo was right to backstab Sony over the PlayStation
มุมมอง 383Kปีที่แล้ว
Nintendo and Sony weren't always rivals. They were once partners, working on the first PlayStation together. But Nintendo feared Sony's product had the potential to destroy their business from the inside, forcing them to act.
How many times can you edit a movie before it's no longer the same movie?
มุมมอง 2.5Kปีที่แล้ว
Movies and TV shows are re-edited all the time without audiences realizing. But is editing something that's already been embraced by the public a roundabout way of editing history? Are we distorting the past by censoring art? This video focuses on edits made to Star Wars, The French Connection, The Santa Clause, Scrubs, Bluey, and other popular programs. Shoutout to Alex for telling me about hi...
Hollywood wants you to forget about DVDs and physical media
มุมมอง 669Kปีที่แล้ว
Physical media is on life support. It’s been happening slowly over the last decade, but now it might be happening all at once with big stores cutting back on selling DVDs and Blu-Rays. In this video, we talk about what's in store for the future of home video. Are you a collector? Share what kinds of media you collect in the comments below! I’m trying to start a collection of standard def animat...

The original video pirate? The "Captain Midnight" satellite hijacking of HBO
To think that , despite all of the shit that happened to it, Nintendo are standing still and even better with the Switch 2 coming soon While Sony IE are now suffering from some kind of an identity crisis especially after the closure of Japan Studio and releasing outright garbages like Concord (Astro bot is proving that they're making so many efforts to make Sony has its own identity) Is fucking beyond me😮 And this is speaking as a Sony CE fan (not Sony IE)
VHS will become like Vinyl Record (hopefully)
I feel early on in this video it does give the context of console culture and how Nintendo dominated back then (not to mention their dominance wasn’t necessarily massive as it was still an early market): Video games and by extension, consoles, were viewed near if not explicitly as toys (this explains Nintendo’s “seal of quality” it’s not to mean much other than like a how a typical toy brand does it) The PC at the time was not considered a toy. It was for work, so the market for PC gaming was much more niche up until the 90s This leads to that reason of why Sony didn’t think video games were worth while; it was just a toy line There’s a real effect of hindsight we as an audience forget about when discussing the history of really anything that’s relevant to the modern world
11:05 In ways they kinda are. They're both examples iirc for the hard-core fans but 2001 has been reprinted in 70mm for cinemas, iirc with alot of the support of Christopher Nolan. Plus, Alien Romulus saw a limited VHS release apparently in December and from what I saw was the last major VHS release of a movie since I believe Cars in America. Hopefully then both of these start newer trends. Heck, maybe Laserdisc might but there's some inconveniences so it's not the same as the flaws of Vinyl, mainly when it comes to space per side / layer. (Fun fact: Apparently in South Korea iirc, VHS' lived on for a little while longer than most places, and the last major release was apparently Inception.)
If Nintendo is here with us, today, then they did the right thing, at that moment.
Most people simply arent enthusiasts, me included. I rarely watch movies and I never watch them twice since there are so many good movies I still havent seen. You can stream everything online for free and while I agree that it can disappear in theory, how does this matter to me? When I watched a movie or series I wont watch it again anyways, so the DVDs would just sit there collecting dust. If I really intent on watching something multiple times I can always ripp it. I love having physical stuff for things that I use multiple times, but for one time use its just wasted money to me.
2:16 That hurt to watch lol
An SD card is not a cartridge, the clue is in the name... 😛
Shut your mouth about banning VPNs! I LOVE physical media, but I ALSO love watching Japanese TV, so there's that...Damn I miss Japan. Watch AbemaTV, it's AWESOME.
I think that two big reasons for the decline of popularity of physical media storage are: 1. Constantly changing kinds of storage and devices (vynil, diskettes, casette tapes, CDs). This was felt even more so in countries like Bulgaria where new technology took more time to come to initially and thus the change from one kind to the other felt even more sudden. I felt that and remember wondering when CDs will be replaced with the next thing. 2. Risk of damage and losing data. I remember my hands shaking everytime I touched a CD on the rim as a kid scared to not ruin it. I remember handling casettes with extreme care scared of ripping the tape when rewinding. As they were becoming obsolete copying the stored information was going to be hard. This is of course more important for personal videos/photos etc. as no stores sell copies of that. But the standard for those inevitably dictates the standard for music and film even though the latter two can be repurchased when damaged. Having personal recordings stored digitally on multiple devices means lower chance of forever losing precious memories and ability to in some cases restore them.
Give me physical media or give me death!!
One thing i love nintendo over sony. Nintedo games focus more on a gameplay a lot of nintendo games not graphically good but the gameplay is good and the story good. While sony or ps game focus now more graphics a lot and causing them to release some exclusive title years and years it will take
lets hope that something happens like what's happening with CDs with them regaining some popularity because people want the artists to get the money
Many people worry that some streaming platforms censor or remove some movies or series, and that they will be impossible to watch in the future. However, we cannot ignore the fact of piracy (yes, it is bad, but thanks to it a huge number of games and movies have survived). Therefore, even if there is no longer a licensed version - a pirated copy will remain
I hate basic DVDs, this format is already obsolete and dead. Not missing at all, how would you record 3,5 hours of HQ video in mpeg1 format? BlueRay - maybe.
For those who dont know physical media sounds 100x better than digital. If you have a surround system you will notice a change between physical and digital. Physical media gives you theater like sound vs digital media sounds like its being played off some old speakers.
0:55 that store was ahead of its time looks awesome
In alt world: the nintendo:playstation
Nothing beats physical media: better image, better sound, sometimes extra's and the proof you're supporting the film industry though since years I consider Hollywood producing more screwjobs than decent movies. Even if the DVDs are getting scratches you get them cleaned up again and there you go, a DVD is forever.
I can understand why They want to forget DVD's. The last one's I bought was basically the start when Movies became unwatchable. Bad stories, bad players, bad scripts, bad directors, bad sound, bad music. In essence the USA gone to crap. The only industry that was American, and Hollywood destroyed it.
The theory is that Sony and Nintendo would've merged into one enormous gaming giant, with the IP from Nintendo and the hardware prowess of Sony. Sounds awesome to me.
Disagree...Sony dominated for over a decade and Nintendo ate the dirt. Nintendo could have been in on that
Imagine using the *Nintendo* Play Station, playing "Doom" on the SNES while listening to actual heavy metal music...
i have a huge collection of digital media mainly music. also if a watch streaming like netflix or hbo max to see how much i love the tv show if i really like the tv show then i bu a blue ray or dvd disk. when u stream smething our browsing or demoing it it means your checing it out. and if u really lie it you own with a phsical copy. i pirate most cartons and anime
This event was the first inevitable defeat of the dastardly ken kutaragi who wanted to make a game console for his own sake and nearly stole nintendo's business. Where sega was a tough competitor before playstation was almost villainous. Ken would go on to face microsoft in a decades long specs battle that they would both eventually lose for the sake of having the strongest box with bad or no games. Nintendo stayed the course and made great games with feasible tech and is once again on top, probably for good since xbox and playstation consoles moving forward are increasingly pointless.
First off your videos complete bull crap Nintendo didn't save the gaming industry Sega day Nintendo didn't even have any consoles until Sega did first second off Nintendo didn't betray Sony because they were trying to save their business They betrayed them because they went and worked with Phillips instead you dummy as to why they made the console that they made with Phillips The Phillips CDI they actually betrayed Sony to make this with Philips
Thank goodness! Otherwise, life would suck without PlayStation. 👑
Music and games at the same time! that's the joy og xbox brought us ^_^ crazy to think Nintendo system has a Sony part that made it great
I still have my CD-i and two of the Zelda games
1) I hate the misinformation spreads regarding physical video games that the discs are just paperweights purely used to license check. Yes, the games need to download, but you don't need to connect to the internet to play many games. These claims only are valid for companies like Ubisoft, but video games largely have the data on the disc and could feasibly download without internet if someone went through the trouble to test it. There's a website where you can check yourself if your game is playable as-is on that disc and what patch is on it, etc (if someone else knows if they want to share because I can't remember). 2) Something people don't think about regarding physical movies/TVs versus streaming is video quality. You can have a 4k TV and a way to stream 4K, but you are essentially downloading as you're watching while streaming. Essentially this means any hiccups with your ISP means you will see visual dips in quality. This doesn't happen if you have a 4k video.
Hell nah. I have a lot of DVD's, AND a lot of burned DVD's too. It's my, and a lot of other's childhood. Still better spend your money to a DVD player and a few new dics for a few bucks, than spend your money to subscriptions 🤡
Meanwhile, on the East side of the world…
Thats fine with me i forgot about physical media anyway once i got my plex server running. Better than any paid streaming service or physical collection.
Tf did the SNES controller do to you??
I think both parties, and us as consumers benefited
Granted their backstabbing led to them being kicked to shit for multiple generations but y know, that's how the cookie crumbles
I proudly own just over 300 blu-rays and I'll keep collecting what I appreciate 💙 I don't need everything at a click of a button.
It hurts me
If they eventually kill physical media I just will start pyrating their digital sheit lool
With physical media, you also get to watch it when you want not when it's available on streamig. Streaming quality cannot match dics. They want you to pay for subscriptions and still you won't own the movie. They want everyone to buy everything online.
Love both Nintendo and Sony's Playstation 🩵 but my favorites consoles are Sega Dreamcast and Xbox 360
this is why i collect physical media. especially cassettes and records
I've been in the process of ripping my disc collection to my computer because some of the DVDs are starting to degrade and crack. Even if it's just the .ISO file you can still play it with vlc who doesn't care about region locking. I've also taken to the high seas as I don't have he money to physically but every single thing I want to be able to watch repeatedly.
Im sure it aint really Hollywood because they still release dvd after movies that they release its the people who own streaming
You remember that ESPN show "Top Five Reasons You Can't Blame..."? If there was a video game version this would be among the first episodes right? For those who don't know the show was about challenging conventional wisdom regarding questionable moments and/or controversial decisions.
People wants to forget about sat-anic Hollywood.
Dawg i always want dvd’s cuz you can use them offline
10:59 is this picture coming from walmart?
Radiance films are my favourite boutique brand, those guys are top tier!!
As a wise man once said: "They got rid of CD/DVD, they are coming for our guns."
