Aaah homecoming....not gonna lie, I have a special place in my heart for this one. Half because I really like B movie horror, and half because I feel like there are so many cool themes here (gendered expectations, poisonous hometowns, the cycle of abuse) that could have been expanded on.

Play it on murder of crows, it's not too easy you just played it on an easier difficulty. You did adress this. I think it was perfect for me without being too frustrating. The puzzles are a bit overwhelming but I could solve most of them.

I find it interesting how much missed potential is in Homecoming but rather than capitalizing on it, Komani would rather reuse the most popular elements of the past SH entries to make money

38:02 Silent Hill 1 did not follow that design. The monsters, and Otherworld had nothing to do with Harry, and everything to do with Alessa, specifically. Of course, that doesn't change how stupid it is for Pyramid Head to show up in Homecoming.

This game was such a joy! Thought it would be a fun one-off game for me, but as soon as I finished it I went right back in. Can't wait to see what the devs make next

I really like horror, and this game stuck to me way more than anything after Code Veronica and Silent Hill 3.

This is such an amazing and underrated game. I played it when it first came out like it was a religion as well as obscure and so many more amazing horror games.

I really love this game. The only thing i had issues with was the torture scenes stuff. Definitely didn't fit. All the other sruff i believe was great. Yes even the combat. I believe if you decide to exploit the combat sure its boring and clunky. But if you actually use all the mechanics its not bad at all. The monster designs are soooooo good. Its not my favorite of course but i think its good. I enjoy it. Great video tho.

It was not a bad game. I know the biggest complaint was that it didn't have much connection to older Silent Hill games but still, I enjoyed it.

I have soft spot for downpour.at least they didn't gave kratos combo attack like homecoming😂

We all gotta agree that if we had to pick between Silent Hill: Downpour and Silent Hill: Homecoming, we would obviously pick Downpour.

I recently played Homecoming for the first time, and I ended up liking it way more than I thought I would. The story is pretty bad, and the combat is kind of awkward, but the music, environment, and boss designs are some of the bests in the series, even standing toe-to-toe with some of Team Silent's designs! The Descent into Hell followed by Scarlet's boss fight is one of the creepiest levels in Silent Hill history! If against all odds this game gets remade by Bloober Team (preferably after 1, 3, 4, and maybe Shattered Memories), they'd need to change a _lot_ of things. The graphics, controls, voice acting, and combat system are a given, but maybe this hypothetical remake shouldn't stay that true to the original. I don't think many people would be upset over a rewrite of the plot. And while they're at it, they can remove Pyramid Head.

This game to me isna good example of great ideas, mismanaged execution.

I just got a copy of this game on the 360…I finished every Silent hill game in the last few weeks side this one…it looks a lot better that the Vita trash and Homecoming. We shall see….The Silent Hill 2 remake has ruined horror games for me now. Nothing is scary anymore after that game lol.

People that say downpour is bad are forgetting about homecoming and shattered memories… downpour is quite good… just the enemy design and unrewarding side quests (which are great) make it lackluster and not scary enough…

If you think Downpour is the worst one then you have clearly not played all of them.

Homecoming is way worse

Downpour is actually the best SH game to explore! It has the same shit combat as any other SH. The story is pretty much SH2 but not as good. Ie, okay. Serviceable. Idk what people bitched about! SH2 remake should've been "expanded" to be more like Downpour!

If i would put Downpour vs homecoming, at least downpour tried. Homecoming was an absolute failure in epic proportions, clear cut case of the devs not knowing the series at all, they just watched the movie and called it a day, and the graphics and horrible controlls and combat being the final nail in the coffin. Downpour at least tries (and fails) to be something.

This is probably a stretch but Horus in Egyptian Myth is the god of the sky (among other things.) Sky? Lightning? Horrace? Again it's a stretch but an interesting observation I think.

On first person mode... When you're in the showers and fighting Hermes, you don't get the animation for turning valves so it goes faster. Those are the only places to my recollection where it's useful, but GOD is it useful there.

This game was so amazing whwn it came out. I was really into silent hill as a kid( i still am). One of the best psychological horror made to date. Not to mention you can switch between 1st and 3rd person😮😊

When I was a kid, everyone was interested in Resident Evil or Silent Hill. Meanwhile, I was busy playing the Suffering. It was soo much funner than any other action horror at the time. I really hope there's a planned remaster or remake now that the games have been removed from GOG and are officially abandoned.

My problem with Downpour is that it looks and feels nothing like a Silent Hill game. The atmosphere as a standalone game is great, and I had tons of fun playing it. But it's just not Silent Hill. The art direction, color tones, monsters, horror style, the music, the architecture of the town... Nothing looks, sounds or feels like Silent Hill.

Still hoping for a remake one day.

It's interesting as my partner had never played SH games back in the early '10s, so he got this. He did like it enough and is not nearly as harsh with it since it was his first to be fair, but he has since played 1, 2, 3, and Downpour. He definitely prefers the older ones, & while he sees the faults for SHH, he doesn't quite hate it still. Same with Downpour
