That's pretty sweet. I'm getting ideas together to do something similar, but on some really isolated land that we own, as a summer cabin. Throw a 240V subpanel in there if you want to run QRO, or maybe weld. Put some some R30 in the walls, and a little wall-mounted propane heater, then you'll be set in the winter. I would make that back wall into a massive stacked shelf about 2' deep. Heck... depending on the shape of the trusses, you may be able to frame in some storage up top.

    • @GraymanPOTA

The 240 panel is already installed. I’m actually having a couple of 220 circuits put in just in case I wanted to run two amps. I would love to put a cabin out the middle of nowhere. I’ve been looking for land for 10 years now in the area that I live in

One thing I did with my garage when we moved into our house is instead of buying expensive shelving or workbench type stuff, I went and found lengths of countertop that were marked down to get rid of. I picked up a couple of 10' lengths for about $50 a piece IIRC. Run a 2x4 along the wall for it to sit on and some 4x4 legs and you're in business. Thanks for bein' out there! 🤠

In testing I used to have a lot of reflected RF in 11 meters, OK since I was a kid (60's-70''s) on 11 meters, I've been a tech + ham in the 90's. So I had to put some of these beads on my microphone coiled cord, and a few on the coax, I had a mast with other antennas on it in the same room, finally got rid of it. The beads would noticeably heat up with a higher SWR. Until I got the Sirio 2016 5/8 wave antenna for 10-12 meters, I must have dropped the top element right on the center of 11 meters, or channel 20. The SWR curve only begins to climb outside of 11 meters well into 10 and 12 meters, so I have zero SWR across 11 meters channels 1-40, flat zero. The RCI 2995 easily gets into Australia, the mid west and east coast, and southern US to Canada. There is some wavelength resonance on other HF bands which brings the morning DX Broadcast stations across the Pacific really well from 3-7 am. But I also have a center fed fan type multiband dipole and is a tossup in performance with the Kenwood TS940S. Aside from a 3 antenna/4 transceiver switch, I use dual and quad shield coax with noticeable noise reduction, but the solar inverter is still noisy obviously because its right below the antenna producing electrical switching signals on each .1 .2 .3 .4. 5 etc, frequency marker. So I just have to move the antenna mast to another corner of the yard, though one of the dual 80-160 m wires would each still pass parallel near the solar inverter between the houses along the fence. Its the only way I can get a 90 degree angle along the fence lines for the center fed. I was finally able to take the beads off the microphone and other items, there being a flat zero reflected SWR. There's also intended to be a few scanner moonraker antennas and Remtronix (no other antenna beats these for 700-800 Mhz trunking) duckies, along with a dual bander yagi, and 18' 430-450 moonbouncer boomer, all on the same mast, strong enough to stand on in the middle without it sagging or bouncing. I've used it on a 60' tower before, it will take any wind loading.

  •  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

I like to do 1 or 2 loops of coax then clamp the cores over the loops and try to keep this close to the transceiver.. By adjusting the distance between the cores and the size of the loop you can find some good rejection for whatever the noise is..

(in a charging cable outer power supply\ex) 2. what happens in network data cables with a chock? (100mb\1gb\2.5gb\5gb\20gb?\40gb?) 3. Speaker wire let's say the signal is 20hz-20khz and another more HIFI 5hz-100khz? (we can check multiple gauges) 4. what happens on a power wire 240v 16amp 50hz\60hz (application is OLED TV\AV Receiver\PC Power\ex) 5. benefits of applying it to DATA cables (USB 1\2\3\4\firewire\ex) I don't believe you can make this video, but if you do, you win a new subscriber for life.

It is beyond me why TH-cam content creators think playing background music over the presenter's voice is somehow enhancing their videos. We came to hear you; we are not here to fight background music to hear you. The background music quickly becomes extremely annoying, distracting, and intrusive. Many folks have hearing difficulties, thus while concentrating on your dialog we must also concentrate on tuning out the music; it is very frustrating. Your background music ruins an otherwise exceptionally good presentation.

Nice video. I just bought a Raspberry Pi 4 8GB & a MMDVM Duplex Hotspot Module Dual Hat (the hat arrives tomorrow). Do I need to do anything to the RP prior to this? Or is everything more or less configured onto the SD card? Just making my plan of attack for when I get all my parts. I should t have to do anything g but physically connect hat to RP, follow steps in video & write everything to the card. I’m an IT guy, but first time playing with a RP. Thanks! UPDATE: I went ahead & configured my SD card and have it sitting in my RP now; just waiting for my hat to show up to slap it on, the power it all up & configure it as shown in the video. Good first video for me regarding DMR hotspot setup.

for 80m usualy about 7 snap on ferrites on the end of the coaxial cable are enough, close to where the connector on the cable is. the ferrite material has more resistence towards HF the higher the frequencies is, that means the cable doesn't need that many ferrite cores for 20m. how many snap on ferrites on a coaxial cable would be to many ? i guess the ferrite attenuates the HF in the inner conductor of the coaxial cable too, at some point there will be no more significant HF current in the inner conductor of the coaxial cable when there are to many snap on ferrites on the coaxial cable.
