Arguably the Hero shooter genre never really existed. outside of defining them extremely loosely as "shooter games with classes" in which case yeah the original call of duty games were hero shooters and so will any shooter game with a loadout. and if you put strict definitions on it you end up having TF2, OW(a tf2 clone) and paladins (an ow clone) the rest all vaguely fall between genres and are defined by different things. Hell before we had this whole term hero shooter people would describe games like CS as tactical round shooters saying it was defined by economy and rounds all these "genres" for the most part aren't really useful definitions and when they become useful as definitions the "genre" is already stale and formulaic.

A Russian player ported Deadlock to Dota 2. Like not just the character models. Players who play deadlock characters go into a 3rd person shooter perspective while others keep the top down look. It's crazy.

HotS only "failed to break into the genre" because the monetization model they chose for it wasn't profitable enough for them to find it a worthy use of their time. You could easily get most pieces of paid content through the lootboxes given to you for simply playing the game, and specifically playing a wide variety of heroes. The game itself is a great rendition of the moba formula that suffered from the success of it's lenient reward system

so like, i dont really know much about valve. the only shooter ive ever played was fortnite, the only moba ive played is smite. needless to say i dont have much experience in either genera. i mean i have a basic i dea of what to do and how to do it. but im not typically gonna grind on these games, study every possible interaction and angle. Maybe all of that leads up to my take holding no real weight, but id like to imagine that im in a pretty large percent of the playerbase that valve hasnt granted access to yet. with all of that said. I personally think the game looks fun, im not sure what the minimum computer specs will be, but if they keep the graphics as they are id like to imagine that would be pretty low. ( Thats a positive, btw. im not about to get a new pc just to try this game.) not only that, but from what bugs i have seen from videos/streams/ ect. seem pretty minor, and they are usually fixed quickly. basically all im trying to say is, i dont know valve, and i dont really care to. all i care about is seeing this game that looks like fun, that looks freash and seems to glow with potential make a name for itself. even if i hop on just to play for a game or two and then hop off to play something else, at least gamers will have it as an option to keep things mixed up.

I will say that I wasn’t really excited when I heard about the game. With words like MOBA, and Hero Shooter I thought it was going to be g to be hot garbage. Seeing game play changed my mind. And playing the game changed my mind

boy oh boy , rlly i love fps and shotters in geral but i hate mobas but deadlock got me addicted to it i cant stop playing it and im happy i found a new good game to play PS: srry for the bad inglish not my first language

When i first got access at mid August I didn't like it, feel like I was dealing no damage at all and the gunplay didn't feel satisfying (Mained Apex), played 6 games and then quit. Fast forward half a month, I tried it again and something just clicked, playing like 4 hours daily rn and haven't have as much fun like this in years

I'm really glad valve didn't stop development or funding for the game when they saw the backlash, massive props

This games honestly so fun, dunno what else to say. Movement feels really clean when you get to learn it, and its a really good way to handle a moba since I never would've played one otherwise, I have about 150 hours now

Apart from some super rare gear in BL2 (ei Hide of Terra, Twister & Interfacer) , I really prefer BL2 drop rate and farming. Rather have quality than quantity in terms of legendaries as well. Hot take: I also prefer BL2 because it’s the harder game. BL3’s mayhem mode is hard but more annoying than hard. Yes I prefer OP lvlz than mayhem mode

I'd say the title would be fit for some people. It was around the time the save tf2 thing was going on, people who had not played the game were already shitting on. If you looked up videos around the time you'd see a lot of folks hate on it and bring up tf2. I had been in the closed alpha and have seen this game change over and over again. Idk what it is but there's so many cynical people ready to say this game is dead.

I hate that I like this game. The menu is dogshit, and when you open it up and go through the tutorials, it looks like shit. You get in a game, and suddenly it's like a five star meal. It's really bizarre

nah Jack definitely wasn't the best story element character imo, for me it was tiny tina, that cutscene at the end of her dlc still gets me every time, and ill never stop hoping to get her as a playable character someday

as a fan of the franchise from the day bl2 released, having played every game in the franchise to 100% completion and then some, bl2 is and will always be the best of the batch, imo the only thing from bl3 that I wish bl2 had is the slide mechanic and vaulting over terrain, and evert game since bl2 I have hoped and prayed it would even be half as good as the very first sequel, so far none of them even hold up a candle to this masterpiece, if you enjoy any of the borderlands games and haven't played bl2, definitely play it
