New sub here and THANK GOD you’re English! That and the reference to “purple” in the title attracted my attention. I’m afraid some of the American channels are terrible screechy monotone American that grates. Your accent is delicious
Awww thank you so much hahah, i love that description of american accents 😂 my bf complains every time i watch some of my favourite podcasters
I can’t get over how pretty your voice and accent is!! I live in the states and have a lazy spoken American accent, and so do most people around me. So it’s really refreshing to hear you talk about your knitting progress & I appreciate your dedication to making videos for us. You’re so pretty too btw! 💜😊
Awh, thank you so much! And thank you for watching! 💜🥺
I am knitting now the braidy loop sweater and i also found similar issues like you. It’s really sad that the pattern does not seem not fully thought out. I adjusted the yoke to be slightly shorter and cast on less stitches at the underarm because the armpit area looped very weird as in the pattern. I will block aggressively the front to hopefully offset the lack of short rows.
Yeah, it’s definitely not the best pattern… I’m surprised you’re doing that for the underarms though, I’d be a bit worried about the sleeves coming out too tight! But I hope it turns out really well for you! 🤍
That poppyseed colour is so lovely indeed
Ikr! I love it so much i just ordered another skein to knit up a pair of socks for myself 👀
❤
I actually absolutely love your Braidy Loop Sweater and the way it looks on you!🦄💜 I do agree with you on the akward size range. May I ask how much positive ease you ended up with?
Aw, thank you so much! I actually haven’t got it with me and i’m away for a week or so, but assuming I met gauge (which i think i did) I think it’s about 28 cm of positive ease (this is based on the pattern measurements and my bust size). For reference, my bust measurement is 89 cm and approx. 110 cm around the shoulders. I hope that’s useful! 🤍💜
@ ah thank you very much! Than I might know which size to choose 😊
Superwash yarn isn't warm unfortunately. On the brightside, I learned from KnittingTraditions about the JC Rennie greasy cones which is super affordable and they have a nice range of colours. It's from a Scottish mill so shipping will be cheaper for you (compared to me living on the other side of the world) T_T
Yes, i’ve really learnt this with my ingrid sweater! I gravitated towards natural fibres specifically for the warmth aspect so it’s very unfortunate 😅 I do so love the colour of this drops karisma though 🥲 I’ll have to check those cones out!
I find adding a strand of mohair helps. Not perfect but better than
The problem with the Ingrid sweater is that like all petite knit patterns it hikes up the front on most people. I think you have a nearly perfect body for modeling knit wear, but it's still hikes up on you. Like, how flat/skinny does a woman have to be for it not to hike up? It's sad because I like the styles.
I haven’t actually noticed that until now! I think with my ingrid sweater it’s relatively slight, especially when i compare it to the braidy loop sweater, but I definitely see what you mean! I certainly do find it hard with petiteknit designs to figure out whether it’ll look good though
Oh interesting! I haven’t had that issue but I’m obviously lucky haha
@blank.stitches From the front it's not very noticeable on you. I think it's that one angle that made it more obvious. And that color is so beautiful on you, so I don't think everyday people will notice it. Just us frustrated knitters who have spent too much time and yarn on sweaters that ends up hiking.
You can always add depth to the shoulders so that it doesn’t ride up on your neck.
@@Izzabellaanot the neck. Hiking at the front means the front hem comes up and looks shorter than the back. Usually this means there was nothing done to accommodate women's chests. A lot of the times when you look straight in the mirror, you can't see it. But everyone else can because it's obvious from the side.
Your Ingrid sweater is absolutely gorgeous! 😍 I’d love to knit the crew neck version too. Would you mind sharing how many stitches you picked up and how many rows you knitted? Thank you so much for the inspiration!
Thank you so much! I’ve knitted this a while ago, so I haven’t got the pick up rate, but I found in my notes that I picked up 96 sts for the neckline (size M or 3). It seems like i knitted about 27 or 28 rows (the neckline is folded) but I think i just kept knitting and checking how it looks folded until I liked it. I hope that helps! I’ll put this in my ravelry notes as well so it doesn’t get lost haha
@blank.stitches Thanks so much, cant wait to try it!
The Ingrid sweater is such a perfect neutral for you! A knit flip video would be awesome, I think we all should do more knit flips to have more use of the things we make. I think we're all guilty of having some things we've made that just sit in the wardrobe for one reason or another...
Aw, thank you! I really think so too and I wish drops would do this colour in some other yarns 😓 That’s good to know! I’m really tempted to make a knit flip series sometime early in the new year ☺️
Early gang gather to applaud the lavendar braidy loop! 😍💜
That's so sweet, thank you haha 💕🥹
I love your selection, stunning patterns! Most of them I have never seen before, and I'm in love with them!
I love that youtube recommended to me your channel! Also, you are so so beautiful!
Aw, that’s so sweet, thank you! 🥹💗
Yes! take knitted mittens on your ski trip(for wearing in town-not while skiing)! and a sweater! It's likely cold and snowy! Also start on your lavender hat/mittens/scarf set as your travel knitting. Small projects are so much easier to travel with - and you will have your hands (and luggage) full enough with the ski gear!
That’s really good to know, thank you for the tips! ☺️💕
Oww, I've got a Lavender I'm dying to make into a slip over /vest. I could put ribbing on the arm holes and make a smaller size to start and be fine probably lol I love those cables Kal
You can always knit the shorts under the skirt with something super soft to skin but then make the outer skirt show the fabric you love the look of best maybe. Just a thought.
Just found you and was loving your pod and then you said you’re friends with Anne Sophie, who I also just discovered! Subscribing and hopefully will be able to fit in joining your kal!
Aw, that’s so sweet, thank you ☺️ I’m glad you’re enjoying both of our pods 💕
7:19 I just finished my cardigan no 9 and I am absolutely in love with it ❤️ great construction and very cozy fit
I’m so excited to knit it!!
Commenting here too bc you deserve to read it twice: you look ethereal! I love the soft pink look on your eyes. Glowing!
Aw, you are too sweet, thank you so much 🥹💕
Wonderful plans! I will be watching your progress, especially heart chain sweater and hopefully haraboji cardigan!
i just finished the heartchain sweater its such a lovely knit!
You pronounced haraboji like a native I’m surprised 😂 the cardigan is really great. Much better than what I expected overall even tho it takes long to finish and I wear it all the time.
thank you haha, I’m so glad 😅 your comment is making me really want to knit it nowww
Hi, i would recommend to skip the circular yoke pattern. Your description of your shoulder type sounds similar to mine, and circular yokes tend to stretch kind of unflattering across the chest for me just because of my shoulders.
That’s really interesting, i really haven’t considered that! Thanks for letting me know 💕
I've been skiing and snowboarding my whole life! Honestly, absolutely never wear hand-made mittens or scarfs. All handknit mittens have little holes from the stitches and its def not going to be warm enough/they are likely to felt due to the sweat and heat from your hands rubbing against the cold and rough snow when youre falling etc. I'd only bring them to wear out after skiing. Id def bring a second pair or mits cause the ones you use when skiing will get wet throughout the day so after skiing you want them to dry. You could get away with a hand knit scarf but again I don't find them warm enough. I've never warn a handknit sweater because I'm sweaty lol I LOVE bringing knitting to do on off time tho!
it’s so cool to hear from someone who knits and skis! tbh i didn’t think wearing knits while skiing would be a good idea, but i was thinking more in the evenings? i didn’t think about the fact that everything will be wet though (very silly of me), but that’s good to know!
@blank.stitches Ah evenings would be fine!
I loved hearing your winter knitting plans! I'm heading into summer here in NZ and I'm currently knitting a Moby sweater in Peer Gynt in pink for pink t shirt day (it's about anti-bullying but it's still freezing at that time of year). My knitting plans are to get into sock knitting - I've acquired a stash of sock yarn and sock patterns and I've yet to knit a pair of socks. My plan to have at least 7 pairs done for the next winter ahead.
How are you finding the peer gynt? Is it scratchy? I love knitting socks so much, I really hope you enjoy it too! They’ll be amazing to wear in the winter 💗
I LOVE the color you picked for your pearl jacket. I literally just bought some yarn in a very similar color (gilliatt - de rerum natura - bruyere) that I intend to make a clay sweater with soon!
that is going to look amazing!! i really want to try out that yarn sometime soon!
thanks for another wonderful video wiktoria!! 🎀💕 love how some of my past choices seem to have inspired you in some way! can't wait to see those worked up, and especially your lavender gray pearl jacket as i'm stuck with beige for once 😅✨ alsooo i was really quite mesmerised by your cute little hair clip! it suits you very well 🥰
aw, thank you so much, anne sophie 💕 your choices are top notch, i can’t not be inspired!!
Love your selection of patterns🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰. I might include some of them in my knitting plans. Maybe a cardigan and the sweater nr 15. Thank you for taking the time to share your plans with us. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for watching 💕
Great sock patterns round up. Your choices are right up my alley. Thank you and cheers from Montreal, Canada
Aw, i’m so glad you enjoyed it! Happy sock knitting ☺️
I'm knitting the Thrift Bloom socks right now as a gift knit! Don't be intimidated, it's really beginner friendly in terms of lace and easily memorizable. I did swap out the short row heel for an eye of partridge heel flap and gusset :)
Ooh, an eye of partridge heel flap would look so pretty with this pattern! I can imagine they look beautiful!
Such a loving episode about socks)
Love your podcast!! 💙💙
I'm knitting with Noro yarn right now and am not doubling with another yarn. I had to knit a relatively big swatch and take an average because of the different yarn densities.
maybe you could try to block the sleeves of your sweater again and stretch them out as long as you want them? I would try this before doing sweater surgery :)
i’ve actually tried that when i first blocked it! It kinda stretches the neckline (I definitely should’ve knitted them too short but i was impatient back then haha), so unfortunately probably best not to repeat it :/ thank’s for the suggestion though!
Knitting is a slow crafr
I love how you have a color scheme and you stick to it, everything is so ethereal! I feel you on the itchy stuff, im realizing that I can't handle mohair, it's so itchy for me. this now means I have a lot of sweaters ive made that are hard to wear, and im still on the search for nice soft alternatives (alpaca is my fav so far lol)
Aw, thank you! Yeah, the itchy problem is so real! It’s really interesting how it differs person to person though! As soft and lovely as alpaca is, i find it the most itchy of all! Thanks for watching ☺️
Your colors look so beautiful and I enjoy your calm energy 😌 May ball wrap looks so amazing, I want it now as well!
Awww, thank you so much 💕
Your May Ball wrap looks so good! Another great podcast :))
Thank you ☺️💕
Lavender flowers are very purple, I imagine that's where the name comes from? The struggle with color names is real, like why is light pastel green "mint" when the plant is vibrant green? And so on 🤣
That’s a really valid point haha I suppose lavender colour changes though the flowers’ life cycle, but i think i associate „lavender” colour with when the flowers are towards the end of the blooming season and become lighter and greyer! The mint green is very weird indeed haha
That blue looks great on you! Definitely shorten the sleeves when you get the chance :)
Aw, thank you! I definitely will shorten them, just really procrastinating it hahah
You are glowing 💛
❤🌈🙃
thanks for yet another wonderful podcast! 💕 so interesting to see how differently the same project in the exact same yarn works for you! or, well, doesn't really 🥲 i'm so excited to see your finished may ball wrap, and very glad you finally joined the kfo mohair hype club (but you knew that already) 🤍✨
thanks for watching 💕 i’m so gutted about my blouse no 1 after seeing how great yours came out and looks on you!! 😓 super excited about the may ball wrap as well! Almost there!!
wonderful podcast as usually ☕
I just cast on the Penny gloves yesterday, what a timing with your podcast! 😀
They’re such a quick knit! Happy knitting ☺️
The last video where you showed your new aquisition - the regia rose shine, I was instantly in love with the colour and wanted it so much that I ordered 2 skein from the states because for some reason, New Zealand doesn't sell a wide range of regia's solid colours. Totally worth the shipping, the colours are so pretty! 🤩
It is such a lovely yarn and knits up beautifully! Happy knitting! ☺️
I love your colour palette so much! It really suits you
aww, thank you so much 💗
My mixed rib cami is the same! It looks super long but when I wear it it’s super cropped and mine is in cotton merino so I don’t think it’s the yarn I think it’s the fact that they are negative ease garments
Yeah, that’s probably a factor as well, but for me it’s more the fact that it shrinks between the first wear and a few hours later. Also, candidknit mentioned her oversized kfo merino and silk jumpers shrink in length as well
Congratulations on your new microphone! The sound is great 😊
Yay, thank you!
Kaisla socks are so beautiful, picked them for my future plans! Wonderful podcast, as usually, thank you!
I’d really recommend, they knit up super quick! Thank you so much 🤍
