Casting An Indycar Chocolate Wrapper In Resin With A Custom Silicone Mold
มุมมอง 227 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey friends! We're under a heat advisory here in the Gulf South, so I'm working from inside the house this week. In this video, I'll be making a silicone mold of an Indycar chocolate wrapper, and casting it with resin. My wife is a Hoosier and loves watching people drive in circles for 500 miles. Admittedly, I enjoy it as well. She asked me to make her a silicone mold of this Indycar chocolate ...

Turn An Antique Window Into A Stylish Planter
มุมมอง 3699 หลายเดือนก่อน
This week I turned an antique window into a stylish planter for climbing ivy, or really, just about any other plant! You can find these windows at just about every antique store, flea market, garage sale, or architectural salvage these days. The wife and I took day trip across Lake Pontchartrain to Mandeville, LA, where we found this window for only $5! With some pressure treated decking board ...

This simple hanging tote storage solution is trending right now, and I have to say that it fits my needs in the shop! It seems like everyone has these totes these days. Gone are the bright and colorful clear totes, in favor of the rugged black tote with yellow lids. JUSTS BEWARE! These totes are not all the same size! The overall design from box store to box store is very similar, but as I foun...

Ceramic Tile To Vinyl Plank Flooring - Updating Our Laundry Room
มุมมอง 1.2K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
I decided to surprise my wife by updating the floor in our laundry room. I thought it would take just a weekend. Boy was I wrong! I've never done ceramic tile demo, so that was fun. This was also the first time i've ever laid a glue down vinyl floor. This isn't a how to video. This is just how I did it. I wanted to document the process so that I could learn from it. Calf Stretching Slant Board

Angles are hard. Especially if you don't have any jigs for extreme angles. So, what do you do when you don't have a jig? Well, if your like me, you just cut the angle as close as you can get and use a belt sander to get it the rest of the way. If you're doing precision work, a belt sander is hardly the way. But, for something temporary and utilitarian only, a belt sander will get you there! For...
IKEA Cutting Board Hack

In this video, I take 2 different IKEA cutting boards and turn them into one beautiful cutting board. My wife took a baking class to learn about bread making. It turn out better than I was planning, as I had to make some last minute changes to the build. I think it's beautif...

Upcycled Cypress Table Caddy

My wife loves her vintage Neil The Frog collection from Sears. She asked me to make a custom kitchen table caddy and to incorporate her Neil The Frog trivet tile. I used skills from my video on making dimensional lumber router bowls, to make the 'caddy portion' of this ...

    • @COOPmade

      They are 7 3/8 inch from point to point. Which makes about a 14.5 inch circumference hexagon or honeycomb. The math is the same no matter how long you make the sides as long as they are the same length. Thanks for watching!

    Awesome job of recycling something that would probably be burned. I was wondering if you could tell me the length of your star pieces? I know you cut 20 of them but at what length? Thanks for reading

    • @COOPmade
      @COOPmade 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They were 11 or 11.25 inch square stock before I cut the angles. I don’t recall exactly. You could make them whatever length your material allows though. Based on the usable wood from the pallet, the 11 inch range was where I’d get the best yield. And for reference, the final size is approximately 26 inches wide by about 25 tall. Thanks for watching!

    Why did you have to use glue? Is it not a click and lock sort of a vinyl plank?

    • @COOPmade
      @COOPmade 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This flooring is vinyl, not a rigid wood or pressed board material with click & lock grooves. Essentially, it’s the same material as sheet vinyl flooring, just in planks. This particular plank I was using is LVP, or Luxury Vinyl Plank. It mimics rustic wood flooring, but with the water resistant qualities we need here in the Deep South. With the waterproof adhesive I used, this flooring is 100% waterproof. Thanks for watching!

    RE-using things is VERY =>GOOD in terms of environment and Global-WARMING issues!! I DO like the General-IDEA and support it! -- Unfortunately though you DESTROYED the main Idea by using WAY too MUCH Glue, Masking-Tape, PVC-Gloves etc.!! == Clean up your Workbench before starting, put things away, you don't need, dribble ONLY a few drops of glue to the surface and use your (Index)-Finger (for big surface, a Spangler would do the job too) to spread EVENLY, without using Tape, you could JUST use CLAMPS! EVEN the mentioned Items (Glue, Tape, etc. are "CHEAP", it does NOT have to be WASTED this MUCH!

    • @COOPmade
      @COOPmade 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment! I do agree that I need to clean up more. My shop is in disarray due to repairs from a flood. As far as the disposable items like tapes and gloves, I realized the tape was a poor choice in that situation and should’ve just went straight to clamps. Gloves, however, I try to get more than one use out of each. I may have taken it off, but I do try to reuse.
