Man, why don't these trainees know where they should stand prior to the "taller tap" session? At this point, everyone should have already figured out where they should stand before going into formation.
@@ziadajam5433 My flight and I knew exactly where to stand, so by the time we were in formation, we didn't have to move when our MTI said "taller tap". After week 3, we were tired of getting yelled at for not falling in the flight correctly.
The day before town pass after graduating, you’re allowed to wear whatever combination of dress blues you would like. Other than that every formation you will match with whatever the UOD is. As far as cutting through the grass you are still not allowed to do that.
I don't know if it looks good or not and can only speak for the USAF. We size up the flight so that the tallest airmen are in the fourth element directly behind the guidon (the airman who carries the unit banner on the pole.) As the fourth element leader who was a good foot taller than the guidon there were many hours worth of awkward moments when I well that wasn't your q. . .
By the time we were at this stage we KNEW where to stand in the formation. When we called to formation we just go in the spot to start with. that seemed like a lot of maneuvering at the beginning. Curious why they are not all dressed the same. Not bad though.
Have you ever served? I would say I hope you get a taste of what it's like to see enemy air support, but we both know that wouldn't happen. You tell me why.

Because it always changes you could be 2nd rank 1st element or 10th rank 4th element. We were never told to do it otherwise

Back when you could actually tap them on the shoulder and move forward
@:17sec "If you're taller than the next man 👨 in front of you, tap him on the shoulder and move up!" Been there, done that!
I always mover back .
Just curious as to when the AF allowed people, especially in uniform to cut across the grass? Also, what’s with the mixed dress? Air Force 75-‘78.

tap n move
Knights!!
It's obvious for the USAF marching is not their best fortay... their main talent is in technology. Leave the marching to the Army.
FYI...The Air Force and Marine Corps do more drill and ceremony in Basic Military Training then the Army.
@@tree3752 after looking at this video you sure in the hell couldn't tell it... they look terrible.
Bro you probably have never served
@fetengineer9151 I was part of the 331st for bmt, we are the best when it comes to drill, none of this would have ever happened
Why does the AF think all that shuffling around looks good at the beginning??

milton Mmm any special ops job, and security forces has seen their fair share
This comment is ignorant as hell. AF wrenches and has many hands on jobs like any other branch. You’ve probably never served
Lol pls, until you serve shut up
What are they doing at the beginning with all the shuffling?
" tall or tapping " its so the tallest ones are towards the front
@@Hu2Kay it's actually "taller" tapping. If you're taller than the airman in front of you move forward
Taller tap!
They arent matching lol
MSgt Bradley Rector: “Mark time, March!” Google it :)
Nice touch on the Rick Flare
