I Almost Quit Medical School
In this video, I tell a story about how I was on the brink of quitting medical school but then something happened that changed my perspective. I met who I like to think was an angel on the beach. This video was made to encourage those in medical school or on the healthcare journey to keep going!

Always 😎
Hi Nick, thank you for sharing your journey! I am a PGY4 doctor and proud Catholic… I honestly relate to a lot of the difficulties you mentioned going through medical school and honestly feel burnt out after several years of internal medicine training. I’ve found it really hard to maintain a good work-life balance and after much praying, am so much more at peace now leaving IM training. I want to continue working as a doctor regardless but am praying to God for guidance, re. where to next in terms of my career 🙏🏻 I will keep you in my prayers as well and know that God will make a fine and compassionate neurologist out of you! May our Blessed Mother also pray for you on this vocation 💙❤️
Thank you for the kind words. I am glad you were able to connect with my post. You are also in my prayers!
Congratulations man. God bless you ✨
Thank you 🙏
Just started residency in july and have been feeling a little lost. Thank you this helped me.
Glad I could help! God’s got a plan
Thanks for sharing the story and being open with your faith

I have to say, I am so glad you decided to push thru and now you are telling this story now as a 3rd year resident. Very motivational...thank you!
😁
Wow Thank you for your honesty. ❤
Always trying to be as real as possible about the med school journey
I’m constantly asking myself if I have what it takes to do this. Thank you for this!
Of course. Glad it resonated with you. You can do it!
I'm a Muslim medical student, and I really appreciate this video. Every single day I feel inadequate as I'm reminded of how much I don't know. Something which gives me a lot of comfort is the saying " *inna lillahi wa inna alayhi rajiun* - indeed we belong to God and to Him is our return." Especially on difficult rotations like ICU, when patients die and you start questioning your steps, it's a comforting reminder that at the end of the day, everything is God's will. We are all just pieces in the giant puzzle of the universe. And that puzzle was created by God - the Creator and ultimate governing force of all existence. One thing I can't stand about medicine, especially academic medicine, are all of the ego-starved physicians who are constantly trying to impress eachother. If more physicians truly believed in the superiority of God, we wouldn't have so many insufferable personalities. " *Do not walk proudly on the earth. You can neither tear the earth apart nor can you rival the mountains in height* " - Qu'ran 17:37
Thanks for watching! Glad this video resonated with you!
축하해요~~! part는 어디로 정하셨나요~!?

Which elective do you recommend completing in residency?
Thank you. Can I ask you a question? As an IMG, I can not do electives but observerships only. Is it impossible to match to neurology residency with observership? Thank you.
I think so! Any experience with neurology helps your application!
So you mean that observership is still valuable, right? Thank you.
@@Paul-we4ty yes I know someone who did an observership and matched at that program!
@@drnickbella Thank you.
No problem!
First generation doctor?
Have a few family members that are docs but not my parents
Seems first Gen would do more for the second than the second does for the third
You are the perfect fit for your profession! The medical field is blessed to have you!
Thank you for your kind words!
Love this video! I'm a pharmacist and it's not always easy to be in the scientific field as a christian! it's reallu challenging sometimes .
Thanks for watching! I agree, at times it can definitely be challenging! Hope this video provided some encouragement
Have you gotten any athletes addicted to opioids lately? Doctors are evil.
In neurology I never really need to prescribe opioids. We have other medications/ interventions we can use!
Yyuyyy
Bro you are one reason I wanna persue neurology residency .
Wow thanks for the kind words! It’s a great field!
Thank you for tapping into the positive side of med school residency!
Of course! Trying to stay positive :)
Just make sure that you choose a good roommate, preferably a med student and that you have a key to your room if possible.
A good roommate is key!
I Pray you become a Good Doctor! A Good Doctor lives a Good Life! :)
Thank you!
