I've always loved seeing a consoles farewell years. The level achieved , destroys what we thought was possible on the early days of said console.

I have had my Odin 2 max since launch and the best emulation handheld I have ever owned.

Dead or alive was the best graphical game for dreamcast

I don't think the criticism on Daytona was wrong. That game shouldn't have been published for Saturn at all. Maybe, a version with polygons graphics like Virtua Racing, but with longer draw distance and all the effects and driving style of the arcade version.

I'm not sure someone wrote this already but I'm quite sure there is a shader or some kind of overlay pre--enabled, which if disabled, makes those emulators run just fine.

Ich kam von einem Mega Drive 2/ Genesis im Februar 2001 zur Dreamcast, und war überwältigt. Metropolis Street Racer war mein erster Spiel zur Konsole damals, fantastischer Einstieg in die damalige Next-Gen Dreamcast, die ihrer Zeit weit voraus war.

I remember buying the Dreamcast knowing almost nothing about the console. The first game I booted up was Virtua Fighter and I felt so cheated. Was this the best the console was capable of? The next game was Soul Calibur and I was instantly blown away. Even after all these years the game doesn't feel particularly dated.

I remember when i first got my dreamcast and we saw Resident Evil Code Veronica. It was absolutely stunning.

Dragons Lair on Game Boy Color! No, it's not a reformulated game, It's a direct port of the arcade game! Yes, Digital Eclipse took an FMV laserdisc game and somehow managed to cram it onto a portable handheld that could barely handle a few seconds of FMV, much less an entire game built around it! I can only imagine just how hard it must've been to pull such a project off! Next to X, Race Drivin' and Faceball 2000, it's one of THE most amazing technical achievements of any Game Boy game!

Soul Calibur fue esencialmente el juego que me vendió la Dreamcast. Mi primer contacto fue en un canal francés (desde España pero el cable de pago aqui era canal+ francesa) enteramente de videojuegos 24/7 lo cual para la época era una pasada porque lo normal era merendar prensa escrita 😂 y como mucho algún programa semanal de 30 minutos de videojuegos que eran una rareza. Cuando vi Soul Calibur se me bajaron los pantalones al suelo 😂. Recordamos para los no boomers, en esa época podía salir una videoconsola o juego uno o dos años antes de llegar a tu territorio (sobretodo si eras de Europa) Japón solía ser la salida, después Usa y luego Europa. Fue también donde vi Shenmue correr. Fue un impacto, como explicarlo si veo Metal Gear Solid un juego que estaba por llegar aún! Y me llamo muchísimo la atención, o sea quedo anotado (lo que hoy se llama hype) imaginar luego ver Soul Calibur, era como dos o tres generaciones por delante gráficamente. Como de bueno es, que aún hoy día sigue siendo digno de ver y jugar. Dreamcast fue un sueño y confirmo un comentario anterior. Que época para estar vivo 1999 ( MGS, Ocarina of Time, Shenmue….)

Pease help, I have searched for hours with no solution to what seems to be a simple problem, I have a San Disk SDXC 64GB card, formatted to FAT32, I have an Anbernic RG28XX, I copied the files from stock SD card exactly to the new SD card, however no matter what the anbernic will only turn on with the stock sd card, even though the replacement is correct size, correct format and has exact same data, can anyone help?

I remember 4x4 evolution. I use to play that game on a demo disc non stop lol. I remember thinking how realistic the graphics were. That and Super runnabout.

You left out Alone in the Dark. It was the last Dreamcast game I played. And the best looking one. I dare say it’s even better looking than Shenmue.

Yeah, 3D doesn't do it for me. El Dorado Gate probably has the best visuals I've ever seen in a video game.

Maken X was def in top 20 for graphics, also Outtrigger, Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament.

Almost agree but REZ is more an awsome ambiant STG than top graphics title. Maybe Daytona USA (VGA mode of course) worth better, and games like Frame Gride, Air Force Delta or Spawn have to me, an honorable mention

The Dreamcast launched on my birthday in 1999 so i had to get one. I was a Nintendo kid, and the Dreamcast was my first Sega console. NBA and NFL 2k, Airforce Delta, Ready to Rumble boxing, crazy taxi, RE Code Veronica, Soul Caliber, Sega GT, sega bass fishing with the rod ,and the list goes on. So many fond memories, one of the best console ever

So I ordered the odin 2 today after doing some research these past few days and it really seems this is a very future proof device but also just very great right now as well. First of all the hardware is not an issue with emulation: any slowdown in games seems to be related to the emulator or limitations of android itself Infact the hardware is complete overkill for any gen 6 or below console... I have no doubt this could even emulate many ps3 and xbox 360 games at full speed (and wii u) if those were on android. So this means if a new device comes out with more powerful hardware than the odin 2, there is no real point in upgrading, and the odin 2 also has future proof features like wifi 7 and hall sticks, so the only reason to upgrade would be for a better screen or something, but IPS screens are amazing anyways.... So anyone with FOMO like myself can safely buy this device and not feel like they are missing out if an odin 3 releases next year. Second of all switch emulation isnt abandoned, there is suyu and sudachi emulators. I'm not sure about PS2 but from what I have seen, that seems to be emulating almost all games flawlessly on the odin 2 anyways even if it dont get updated anymore. And third, from what I have read (no idea if its true, its on reddit) there are people working on an official linux / steamos for odin 2(in cooperation with AYN), meaning native PC gaming is coming. In the mean time its even possible to emulate windows and it seems there are plenty of games that are perfectly playable that way. Also it seems there are many unofficial android ports of PC games that are perfeclty playable such as morrowind, half life 2, hollow knight, slime rancher. And im sure that list is much bigger and is only going to grow further as time goes on. And recently ofcourse we are seeing native ports of N64 games, I think it will only be a matter of time before we are seeing native ports of other consoles. Imagine a few years from now, we could be playing native PS2 or gamecube games on windows/android. And the odin 2 will be more than fast enough to play those if it can also emulate them. So those are things to consider if you are interested in buying the odin 2, and the above points sealed the deal for me so I bought it

Played Virtua Tennis for five minutes then went out and bought a DC. Still one of the best sportsgames ever. VT2 was even better.

You may want to tell people that the sound crackles and the slow down are because you are using an emulator; as the games do not look that bad on the console

I tried downloading Koriki/Batocera and couldn’t get the WiFi to work (something about only being able to use WPA2 and not WPA3). I couldn’t get my router to use WPA2 so I reverted back to the stock OS. Does this version of Batocera have this WiFi issue? Or is it only the Koriki version?

There was a Shenmue interactive tech demo for the Dreamcast that was insane.

It’s just a bit limited by the software. Would love to see windows get implemented onto this device. I love mine but I do feel like getting to play pc games would boost this device to the next level

I had a Dreamcast back then too and was very proud of this console. I always thought the Dreamcast was more powerful than a PS2. Of course the graphics on the Dreamcast were always very sharp and had good anti-aliasing and the colors looked great. Despite that you have to admit that you could see from games like GT 3-4 that the PS2 was a crazy polygon machine. This game would never have been possible on the Dreamcast. Sega GT was an attempt to compete. Unfortunately the game was washed out, the curves were angular and it looked like a better N64 game. You often got the impression that a lot of Dreamcast games were actually PS One games with anti-aliasing and higher resolution. Of course there are other examples like Dead or Alive 2 or Soul Calibur. But they only looked better because of the better anti-aliasing and sharper image.
